TF2 was like 80% of my childhood interest from 2010 to 2016. As cringy as it sounds, I used to play Scout so much I wanted to be like him lmao. What I would give to go back, though. TF2 was so much more fun back then. Also RIP to my favourite bat, the sandman.
I remember I was in a state of depression when I first found out about the TF2 community. I don’t know what it was, but something about the game and community inspired me and helped me feel a lot better, I will never forget such an amazing game. Dying means being forgotten, and TF2 is something that will never be truly forgotten. Thank TF2 community, Thank you Valve, Thank you for making things, a little bit better.
I remember watching all the “meet the ___” videos all the time and then playing it for the first time and gave me a sense of comfort I didn’t know I needed at that time. I hold it close to me with a bunch of other games and nobody understands how much they mean to me… They help me destress, decompress, and feel like a kid again. Thank you TF2
I feel like everything is coming to an end ; [.I'm burnt out, tf2 doesn't amuse me, no more animations with a soul, no more youtubers happily shouting ,,we're playing tf2!'' no more normal gameplay. If this continues, then it's over!
I can forgive valve for the Half Life situation.. but I’ve been playing TF2 since I was 11. As dumb as it might sound, when it eventually dies, a part of me will too. It’s a shame too, there’s a whole new generation of gamers who would eat this up if it was properly updated or maybe even ported to new consoles..
I started playing TF2 at some point in 2020... I don't remember exactly when, but I think it was shortly before the bot crisis truly began. I had recently purchased a decent laptop that could run games smoothly, and decided to give some Valve classics such as TF2 and the Portals a shot. In the case of TF2, the memes played a big part in it because I had seen so many amazing and hilarious videos created by that dedicated fanbase, and wanted to experience the thing for myself. Which is also why I run the game in English even though my native language is French (and the game does have a French version with fully dubbed voices) : because I can't imagine playing this game without the iconic voices of the Teufort Nine. I still play Team Fortress 2 on a regular basis to this day. Despite the bots and the lack of updates, I really love this game and I wish I could've known it during its heydays back in the late 2000's/early 2010's. This game is really *something else* and I wish Valve realized it too. I know it's 15 years old but, y'know... Legends never die.
for me this is not only tf2 nostalgia, for me this is double or even tripple nostaglia: for tf2 content id watch jerma, star_, muslek....for cod content, basicily faze montages, for battlefield content, old jackfragz showing bf4....and lastly for minecraft i remember watching skydoesminecraft, and yes i played like half of these games, i did play cod , tf2, and minecraft mostly...
As a veteran Medic from 2012 onwards...I want you all to take good care of not only your medics...but yer spleens how can I steal them otherwise? is that a Scout?- HOH MY GOD! WAAAAAAAAAAAH
TF2 is for me most important game. It was my first game what i download. And i more like that game because of community. How even after 1400 days without major updates people still plays and make new content and mods.
honestly the bot situation pretty much doesn't exist anymore(in my point of view).not to mention the summer update that came out not long ago makes tf2 nostalgia pointless now since you can enjoy the game again with new content.
I get into jump servers late 2018. I didn’t knew it was the last time pub was actually full time playable. Now even if I dont want to jump I have no much options left. (I know there are some servers without bots but I just wanted to search for official valve servers)
I'm very new to TF2 if compared to the veterans, but I felt it. And knowing that I didn't play that much with the game as others did in the 2000's makes me more sad.
I stopped playing roughly somewhere around 2019. Sold most of my valuable items to get a starting gpu at the time. Probably something I don't regret ever since I do not think I will be coming back to play tf2 due to hearing about the current state of the game as of late.
Think of our favorite games like a candle When you first light this candle its in it's prime and your having fun and as time goes on the candle and flame get smaller and smaller until finally the day comes where it's so small and the flame slowly flickers until finally it goes out.
2010 - 2015 were the golden years of TF2. Some people like to argue that it ended around 2013 - 2014 because the updates began slowing considerably, and I used to think that too. But now, being deprived of considerable updates for 6 long YEARS, 2015 wasn't so bad after all. I'd pay anything to go back even to that time period.
Because od this video I started thinking about how I used to play this game and now I'm just burned out and haven't played it in like 2 years, it's just sad honestly.
i played from 2012 to 2021 when my fav community server died, alots changed but i miss the days of hundreds of community servers all packed and full of passionate Mic spamming and trolling. but mainly just their sheer variety of servers in their glory days :/

watching the TF2 Animations before knowing it is a game makes me sad that i didn't play it while i was a kid if my dad did show me the game i would've been stuck on it forever

It can’t end like this, they should just totally hand over tf2 to its community that would be pretty cool
