If I had to pick between the two I'd choose the flip 6 but the only marshall speaker that interests me is the stockwell 2. I don't think either of these speakers justify their price tag but, for me, the flip 6 edges the emberton in value. Thanks for another awesome Alan Ross Review! 😁👍👏
Best review I've seen so far, and believe me I've seen em all! Thanks for the in-depth analysis, you definitely know your trade, and definitely helped me to make a decision. Thanks Alan
Great review. Altough i did pick Up the Marshall emberton instead of the JBL Flip 6. Personally for me i think that whatever the Marshall lacks in sound it makes up for in the design department. I just cant do with the funky JBL styling and branding. I already own a Marshall Woburn ll, which gives me all the bass i need for more heavy listening.
Apperantly the JBL Xtreme 3 got the EQ update. When will you test out the differences between the updates? I have an xtreme 3, but don't want to update just yet. :D
Another good video Alan as always 😊😊😊 This a toss up video right here. Both got their own sound signatures, but I would personally have to go with the flip 6 though. Can’t do without some sort of deep or mid bass.

I think the emberton sounds much cleaner. I really like booming bass in my larger speakers, but a tiny speaker like these needs nothing more than a crispy sound with some bass.
First of all thank you for making this video. I was searching for this comparison on the internet and no one bothered to compare these other than you. You’re the best. Then again I’m happy I got the emberton over any jbl because of the soundstage and clarity of the speaker is amazing.
the emberton has its own marshall style sound signature. if it works for you thats great. for me personally a little too bright and bass lacking. but its virtual stereo works well.
I always listen to it with Spotify EQ -Rock option which I think makes the emberton a better speaker than it already is. You test it on flat and since it doesn’t have a EQ built in that you can tweak via app unfortunately I understand what you mean I would think the same if I listened to it on default settings most probably. And the fact that I only use it with Spotify I don’t really get exposed to its own default sound. If you use Spotify you can go to settings select playback and then Equalizer you will see a bunch of eq presets. Choose rock one and listen that way with the emberton. Maybe you find it better to do so as well. Cheers!
I cant test like this. First i dont like layered eq and once i move to third party eq there is an infinite number of ways to eq them. I would be spending my life eqing speakers instead of testing them. So only firmware eq for me in tests and only if it makes a significant difference.
I tried a lot of speakers last month (Sony XB33, Anker SoundCore Flare 2, JBL Flip 6, different OEM shit and so on). I needed something small but with decent sound. When I heard Emberton I knew it would be mine next BT speaker. Marshall has really interesting sound. It depends on ears. I like Marshall sound but some of my friends prefer JBLs...
Hey - can you do the llist of speakers of jbl flip size ( like sonos roam/emberton/bose mini soundlink etc) and show what is the best in terms of sound quality?
i cant tell you that, its a matter of taste. i can only tell you the soundcore boost for me is best value for that size and the denon 250bt though no longer sold is best for quality sound.
Can you help me with this question. What is Dolby Atmos. And Does it help or hurt soundcore motion plus. Aptx Processor. Should I use the soundcore motion plus. With the Dolby Atmos turned On or Off.
Mr Ross, two hi onyx studio 5 and 6 are amazing loud with the test mode, ah I wanna to come to that the motion boom just recive an Firmware Update I don't know what they did but sound almost same good bass like a HK 5 now it's more bass bass bass nice. Speaker
Another predictable outcome but an enjoyable watch nonetheless I can wait til up cop the Mifa Wildbox and the Bose Soundlink Flex. You’ll get some cool verses outta those 2
yeah im really behind. jbl sent me a soundbar for review and its backlogged me a bit. but was amazed jbl want anything to do with me so couldn't turn it down 😝 once thats out the way i can get on with the wildbox
Alright m8, 👍 I purchased the W king t9 and its awesome. I then went to argos and purchased the jbl 100. I don't know why but i am impulsive. Anyway depending on what i listen to, they sounded the same. Then i placed them on the floor and could tell the difference , only on bass. I have just purchased the soundcore rave meg from curry's that will arrive in 2 days. Why is it the jbl party box 100 sounds more bass when its on the floor?. I've went a bit crazy on the credit card but its interest free for 18 month. What i`m trying to say is do speakers make the difference when placed in different parts of a medium living room. I wasn't impressed with the jbl 100 partybox when on my desk but its crazy bass when sat in a corner. the jbl and the wking t9 sound nearly as loud, the bass is noticeably better only on the jbl partybox 100 when its on the floor . When the soundcore rave mega gets delivered does it make any difference between having a bass radiator compared to the jbl 100 which has an open port. So sorry for this massive questions. I know that you will help me understand.

not for a while. snowed under!
U really should update trust me its actually worth it even for JBL😂
Hopefully they will add the equalizer to the charge5 also.
@@mikehancock6280 they will, probably are working on it as we speak and even the boombox 2 should receive it.

In this comparison Marshal over JBL. Place the speakers in the center of the room and then in the corner, you will notice the sound difference.

Wow the bass of Emberton sounds all boomy and pericing like the Killburn 2's. The Flip 6 has a much tighter and warmer bass response in my opinion.
yes of the marshalls i have tried they have their own sharp and upper bass slanted signature.

There are a few verses on TH-cam between the Sound core Motion Boom and the Mifa Wildbox. They’re all in another language and they all suck, sadly.

The Marshal seems to have less bass but I haven’t seen people use the Push EQ on the marshal
Sir, if you don't mind, is possible to compare emberton vs divoom atom, both have 360" speaker ?
I never really got tempted by divoom. Maybe if there is more interest but im already struggling to keep the videos flowing 😭😭
Flip 6 lacking in mid and high, i don't know if you can manipulate the sound by twiking the eq... Emberton has a clear mid ad high
i would not say flip 6 is lacking in highs but overall balance of the emberton is bright.,
Emberton sounds too harsh to my ears at high volumes. must get that sound adjusting wig you are wearing :-)
yeah seems the marshall/zound industries signature tuning 🤷♂️
It’s not harsh it’s wide. On the contrary jbl sounds flat. Straight up flat. Lol
lol indeed 🙄
*behind mifa Wildbox to compare with Motion boom*
as much as it costs me to say too i am interest also.(like)
All I need is stereo will the Marshall still have stereo the whole left and right ?
yes but its front and back not left and right.
That’s cool aslong as I can put it in a corner and hear the left and right I’m all set!
Well you might not hear it that well, the design works much better on the stockwell 2
