Toyota one company that is truly not lazy and rivals it's competitor's. When the japanese set out to solve a problems there is not stopping them. Much respect to the Japanese and its people.
Hydrogen engines sound very positive for the environment. Yes, batteries are good, but they are not perfect because we have to mine for the raw materials, which ultimately causes significant environmental degradation...
The future is EVs for many obvious reasons! I would direct my innovations into self-charging EVs. For example, the possibility to use the body of the car as solar system to charge the battery of the vehicle in addition to the normal way of charging! Just a thought!
I would certainly be interested in the THS2 Engine, whether gas or hydrogen. This is great forward thinking. I only wish the rest of the industry would pull their heads out of their posterior and understand the buyer's needs and likes, which translate to profit.
Currently electrolysis is 75% efficient. It would not generate enough energy to keep the battery charged much lees move the car. The engineers at Toyota obviously know this. Nice try.
One big drawback for hydrogen powers the fact that it requires five's times the storage volume for the same range. In other words, if you have the same size fuel tank, you will 1/5 of the distance, so instead of being able to go 500 miles on a full tank, your range will be 100.
Brilliant presentation, and by far the most technical and realistic in respect of hydrogen utilization for drive trains. I trained as a 'motor mechanic' over 60 years ago and always envisioned hydrogen as a fuel source, of course, I was considered an eccentric dreamer and laughed at by my 'Petro head' colleagues. If any still survive, I'll bet they're not laughing now. Now back to the present era, and for numerous years, I have sown the seeds of hydrogen-electric fuel-cell hybrids being the most idealistic formula for the future, namely hydrogen being the fuel source while feeding the fuel cells and thereafter the electric motor drive train. Once again, like in the past, I was laughed at, but I knew I'd be right one day. Once again, they won't be laughing for much longer, thanks to Toyota's belief in and dedication to hydrogen technologies. I commend Toyota for making my visions a reality, and I truly hope to live long enough to drive one of their amazing hydrogen cars. Toyota undoubtedly sets standards by which all other car manufacturers and similar companies should judge their own enterprises.👍👍 John(UK)
I believe that Energy Conversion Devices in Troy, Michigan was working on these concepts decades ago. They also developed the nickel metal hydride battery.
I own 3 great used cars. 2 are Toyota's and one Honda. What makes them great is there are hundreds of things less to go wrong than on the newer cars. And yes 2 of them needed work done with some parts replaced with new, and that was 10 years ago. All 3 have never been plagued with electrical problems or towed from being broke down on the side of the road. The price of all 3 including the new parts and repairs was by far less than the cheapest new car 10 years ago as well, and still run great today. I posted this for people who no longer can just go out and buy a new car today without taking a big hit that could never be paid off anyway with sky high prices on food, rent and everything else.
Toyota company Will not only make the environment cleaner but it also reduce crude oil product in use currently as well balancing this countries exports and economics to neutral mode.
Toyota needs to focus on technology to make cheap hydrogen. At an average price of $30/kg in the US, it goes nowhere. For its internal combustion H2 engine, that's like paying $28/gal for gasoline. They are building the classic cart before the horse. They need to get the retail price down to $5/kg at the pump instead of waiting for someone else to do it. That's the #1 reason people don't buy the Mirai in CA.
I accept new concept from toyoto is very good and crucial technology. Nature friendly better than EV thanks for the information and new way of thinking high.
Toyota will be successful with any thing the make Toyota has been top in all around the world 🌎 nothing is made to compete Toyota and nothing will be make to compete Toyota Quility Toyota is the best in the whole world cars market love Toyota from Australia 🇦🇺
Hydrogen is very expensive to produce therefore more than Gas. Electricity or some other energy is used produce Hydrogen. By the time they catch up, it's game over. VHS vs Beta. Beta was technically better than however VHS won!
We have now experience electric car in comparison to engine car. Pollution is reduced. Risk of fire increased. Control of car minimise. Assembly of parts are Lego-like allowing easy and variations. However requires hugh consumptions of electricity. Conventional car lack the free style configuration. Pollution high. Better human control over machinery. Requires diesel and petrol which are gradually hard to obtain. Prices, new invention electric car demands high price, not because of production cost but higher price reflects new technology. Overall electric car is now the “in thing” for this centuries with more benefits to mankind especially pollution.
Hyro might be the next after ev. But you have to work out the safety of hydro engine or otherwise go home to nanny your grandkids. Japan has been working on the hydro engine for years and years but have not been able to pull out their engine. So with Japanese companies maybe will take another twenty years

Hydrogen is great but it needs a lot of electricity to produce it in the first place.
I would like to note, that CO2 is required for life on Earth.

Toyota is a great and innovative company and I look forward to their development of an alternative to EV ❤😊
Just ask Toyota Mirai owners what they think about it.
Looks reality. But need lots of efforts and more innovations. I am confident that Toyota will successfully overcome all the hurdles.
EVs will be the downfall of the Motor industry .
How much Oxygen is needed to run 100 million hydrogen cars
This technology has been around 20 years ago, CNG vehicle rolled out in Singapore in 2002 but till date was unsuccessful.

Mobil hydrogen sama dg bawa bom kmana2.. Pastikan aja g ada yg nabrak, bgitu tabrakan langsung BOOOOMMM...
Toyota = Nokia
Toyota once was a great and respected car manufacturer.
Think about the moisture in a big city.
But also about the moisture in extreme dry enviroments
That was a lot of good information
There are people and organizations that resist changes, sticking to old habits.

There could be a possibility of Rust issues in Future with these engines, end users will have no idea where the rust is progressing
Well done, TOYOTA!
Dreaming is always good.

Hydrogen take oxygen become water, is a very good idea. But, will it make oxygen turn into scarcity and become another ecosystem problem.
What is the name of the background music? It's awesome!
95 percent of EVs sold are still on the road today. The other 5 percent made it home.
Toyota is best
I knew Japanese cars are a true legend
If it destroys Tesla, that is a win
Go Toyota!!!
Isn't battery waste detrimental to the environment?
Toyota means Business!
Hydrogen is mostly made from hydrocarbon.
good job toyota.
EV is the future. For better earth we need to use solar😊

Great concept for the automobile's future. it is helpful to protect the environment.
And hydrogen will also be goven by big business
My college project also hydergon fuel sell and water is a fuel 🥲 i not have budget lead my project.. No one believed me no one sponsored me
Really very little difference to LPG systems which have been around since 80s as far as these issues
Hydrogen fuel is very costly!
My question what happens when you put hydrogen in -40 degree weather . Do they freeze up .
Thank God for Toyota
daylight shooting everywhere now a day
Madness
we bring it, quit talking bout it. No one can afford it! ev's will kick your ass. elons gonna make a chevy luv style pick up 20k$.
I suggest you to use oxygen like humans lol
How does Hydrogen fare when it hits a tree, road barrier or another vehicle near or head on.?
i would like a tpyota hydrogen engine in a toyota high ace
Where is the water coming from
I accept new concept from toyoto is very good and crucial technology. Nature friendly better than EV thanks for the information and new way of thinking high.
Indain win again Toyota indain motor cycle creator
Make it affordable first,
good
I go for BYD 2100km plugin hybrid!
Going back to petrol and diesel engine, no more dangerous EV flammable cars.
Search for first filipino who use hydrogen for his truck
Yea Right.
It’s the way forward. Well done Toyota for great innovation

When/where can I get one of these?
丰田钻进了黑洞里 点着一根火柴见到了光明以为那是洞口😂😂
The U.S. we can't do that it will kill our shareholders profit, never mind about the world and the environment.
Hydrogen has always been a good idea .
Running my car on water! I’ll buy it!
It's all too late, it's going to be EV's, i'll is getting more and more expensive and thsts not going to change.

It will consume oxygen 😮
Toyota will go to the moon like Nokia
All futile if chemtrails continue.
Soon Toyota will realize how far behind in the new market.
This tech will not come to india
👍🇸🇪❤️
RIP Toyota 🤡🤡🤡
Toyotas moving cremation.

Let's go electric and not be held to ransom with oil giants charging too high
Rip Toyota
We could not survive in a carbon neutral society
Toyota is best
this is fantastic, I will never buy an ev
Bye bye electric cars 🚗
