Despite there beeing a lot of content about the mark 2 now, youre video stood out, thank you! I am just seeing this now, but sadly i had to see that you did not post content about composing. I would love to see you talking about that topic.
Hi, it’s an Earthworks Ethos - it’s a condenser, which isn’t what’s generally recommended for this sort of thing, but I prefer it to a dynamic and it’s very nice on speech :)
I probably should have recorded the noise before sending it back - I’ll know better next time! Yes, the noise was too loud not to be picked up by the mic. You could gate it out, but that’s a lot of extra work and I also film while recording things like violin, which would be out of the question. It might not be an issue for everyone
@@drumasterscomposer Thanks. You said "not to be picked up by the mic." you mean the sound was picked up right? How far away from the mic was the the light? Also how loud was the sound when picked up by the mic and did you run the lights at 100%?
@@Maxiixam20Godox told me that the new version is louder than the old one, which is why I made the video to let people know and why they didn’t replace the unit

Thanks, glad it was helpful! Yes, I really need to make some more videos 😂
Incredibly interesting video, hope to see more about expensive lights!
😂
Thanks for this content, help me a lot… All the best
Glad it was helpful!
Yes thank you for this mate. I was just about to buy but I will look for a mark I
Thank you! Very helpful video! Is the power out put the same?
Yes, they’re both 60W and as far as I could tell they’re equally bright. I’d definitely buy the new one if the fan noise wasn’t an issue for me
thanks for the info,
hello only fan noise? I just for food photography . can I buy it?
Definitely! It’s perfect unless you’re filming video and want it to be really quiet
@@SoundsLikeMinka thank you for help
what's the name of your microphone please

@@drumasterscomposer so you make noise reduction after recording in adobe audition?
@@ajindo9ono, the point I was making in the video is that the mk1 light is so quiet you don’t need noise reduction!
How loud was the fan and does the sound get picked up by the mic?

@@Maxiixam20 haha, yes, it was being picked up by the microphone. About 3m away, noisy enough to sound unprofessional, light on 30%…
@@drumasterscomposer That's disappointing to hear... hope it was just a defective unit
