My grandfather and I have always had an "obsession" with the Titanic, him before I was born, to which I was born on April 15th 1988 - ironically. I grew up watching all of the discovery specials the week of my birthday and it's always been something special for us to share together. I really enjoyed this episode. But I have a question for you, do you think the screams would be the worst of the two, or the silence after? There are a few different accounts of people being asked that, or them volunteering which they thought was worse. I've seen some interesting conversations about other people's thoughts on it over the course of many youtube comments over the years, and was just curious on your thoughts. For me, it would be the silence. After the ship lost power and sunk beneath the sea it was pitch black, and so silent because there was no wind, or moon. To be sure, the screams would be horrible... but the silence of knowing all of those people were gone would be gut wrenching for me. I don't know that I could ever have silence again, music, anything.
Ron, I have a local story from MI I'd like to send you but the email link on your channel doesn't seem to work.... could you please post it so I can send you some info?
Dear Ron, I am 99 yrs old. And I am related to the Astors and we heard stories from family members, and the man that found my cousin, he said they found thousands of dollars in his pocket. If you think about it, all that money didn't save anyone's life. I have forgotten alot now. But we heard stories of my cousin after he was found floating in the cold water. Thank you so much for remembering someone from that very sad time. God Bless you Lad!
Ron, my love died in September 2020 from cancer. Every morning, I go to the cemetery to visit him. The Unsinkable Molly Brown is buried in the same cemetery and I pass her grave every day. She was a passenger on the Titanic and urged those in her lifeboat to go back to try to find more survivors. After having been rescued, she donated a lot of money to charity and did a lot of good in her life.
@Barbara Scotto My condolences to you on the loss of your loved one. A lot of my family is buried in the same cemetery and some not too far from Molly Brown.
I was able to visit Fairview cemetery in Nova Scotia where over 100 Titanic victims were buried. A beautiful place and so touching. People still leave toys and plush animals at a child’s grave.
The band that played until the bitter cold, freezing water until the absolutely bitter end is amazing. God bless everyone on the Titanic. It’s hard to believe it’s been over 100 years ago this happened. Just goes to show how fast time goes by.
What a beautiful poem she wrote about him, how sad. Hope they are in heaven together forever. That was a wonderful episode Ron, you do tell them so well. Makes you feel like your there,
Such a horrible tragedy. I can't even imagine how those people felt when going through that devastating disaster, so many lives lost so many little children lost their lives as well, it's heartbreaking to think about.😢 RIP to all those lives that were lost on that horrible night on the titanic.🕊️💐 RIP to the survivers that have passed away. 🕊️💐 Stay safe out there Ron.🙂💟
There is another story about a a ocean liner called the SS Morro Castle. It was known as the Titanic of the Jersey Shore. If you have not been there yet or you did a video, you should check it out. I am fascinated with maritime stories.
It will great to have you live in Arizona. Ron, it was sad for me to leave Illinois and move to Sun City West. I miss my visits to the many cemeteries where relatives & friends are. I miss the trees, the tranquility and the memories. Sun City West is about 35 miles from Carefree. There is a lot of history in Arizona cemeteries and a lot of them have a unique feel. Enjoy your videos and keep up the good work!

The way you bring these stories and their people back to life is second to none. I feel like I just watched this whole disaster happen in real time. Poor Jenny, 40 years of nightmares. PTSD is real and traumatic events will haunt you forever. I'm with Jennie. I would have rather gone down with the ship then to have relived it for the rest of my life. RIP to all. Together again, she's happy now.
So very sad. I can’t even begin to imagine the terror those people went through. Thank you Ron for bringing Jenny’s story to us. Her poem was beautiful. 🙏❤️
Hi Ron--- This story brings to mind a scene from the very special movie "Titanic". When at Rose's death they reunited on the main stairs of the Titanic. At Jenny 's death she and her husband reunited at the gates of heaven witnessed by all the souls lost in the Titanic. Beautifully told Ron as always!!! I have tears in my eyes thinking of it and writing this. Thanks
This was a very nice contribution to the many who lost their lives to this terrible and unforgettable tragedy. I enjoyed the story of this particular couple and the special effects you added in so we could hear the eerie sounds of that night. Thanks for sharing this.
Ron, thank you for the tribute and memorial story. So many lives lost in the titanic disaster. Even after many many documentaries and history articles about the titanic. Your narration brings a bit of life to the tragedy. RIP all.
Rest in peace Mr. & Mrs. Hanson, & everyone. My opinion: To the victims of the Titanic may you find peace in Heaven with our Father, the peace here on Earth that this disaster took from you. Let me reiterate this disaster should never have happened. They where to complacent & in being so did not do their do diligence in keeping track of any dangers around them. Stay safe Sir & everyone.
You are such a wonderful story teller. I love hearing your soothing voice, making each and every one come alive. I truly love that I found this group. Thank you
What a wonderful tribute Ron, thank you for this wonderful video and story of Peter and Jennie Hanson. And also remembering the dear people who lost their lives that freezing night. My heart especially aches for the band, how frightened they had to be, but to keep playing that beautiful song to the very end to try and calm the passengers. RIP to all who lost their lives 😢💔
Ron this was definitely one of your best! Such a tragedy. How heartbreaking. I can only imagine how hard it was for her. Absolutely no way to forget that kind of pain. Thank you!!
My granddaughter and I are also Titanic freaks. Love to hear about the poor souls who had to live through the disaster and stories of the people who didn't survive.
A tragic disaster and sad ending for majority on that fateful night!Cannot even begin to imagine what those poor people went through knowing all to well they might never survive!Beautifully told Ron...... Have watched the movie Titanic many times just to remind myself just how grateful one needs to be, as life is a precious gift and we never know how long we're going to be here....only God knows!Lost my husband to cancer five years ago, will meet again....just like all those poor families who were torn apart and are now re-united once again!Rest their souls!
The sinking of the Titanic has always fascinated me. Just a perfect storm of events and weather conditions that lead to what is honestly a freak accident. The ship was very well designed, the crew did everything by the book, and there were actually more lifeboats onboard than required by Board of Trade regulations. The bad thing about this whole disaster is that Titanic would have survived if she hit the iceberg in any other way except the one she did.
Wallace Hartley the bandmaster who went down fully dressed in his finest was born and buried in colne Lancashire about 10 miles away from where I live. His body was found 2 weeks after the titanic went down with his instrument was found strapped to his body. Once he was brought back to Lancashire they estimated around 40 thousand people turned up for his funeral.
Great story Ron. I did like your animations in video. The sinking was very tragic 110 years ago. I can not imagine what went through all the minds of the people on the ship. Jennie sure had luck on her side earlier in life. I hope all the lives lost are resting in peace.
Great video Ron! I'm not sure how true it is but my uncle told me a story about how my family was expecting items to be sent to them in Michigan from family left in Belgium but either something happened where it didn't make it in time to be put on the ship or it was going to be sent out on her next voyage so my great grandparents along with their three children (my great aunt wasn't born yet) went to go get the items themselves. There is a record of my great grandparents and my grandpa and his two brothers returning to the US from Belgium at Ellis island in June 1912 so there could be some truth to the story.
@@FacesoftheForgotten Whats interesting is that their ship was the Lapland which some records online say is the ship that took the surviving crew back to England for the European inquiries after they testified at the American inquiries.
Such a heartbreaking account from Jennie, I can't even fathom how horrible this was. The poor lady, I'm not surprised that she was so traumatized years later. A tragedy brings out the best and worst of us. Jennie giving her coat to keep that man warm, was the essence of kindness. The image of the band playing as the ship was sinking, always brings tears to my eyes. And then seeing Nearer my God to thee on her stone. 😪 Her poem was so moving, and with the music, oh my gosh, I shed some tears for sure 😢. Rest in Peace to the Hanson's and all the victims of this tragedy. Ron, you did an amazing job on this, so much feeling in this.💜

There is something about the story of the sinking of the Titanic that has always captivated me, as I know it has and does for so many.
