My grandfather and I have always had an "obsession" with the Titanic, him before I was born, to which I was born on April 15th 1988 - ironically. I grew up watching all of the discovery specials the week of my birthday and it's always been something special for us to share together. I really enjoyed this episode. But I have a question for you, do you think the screams would be the worst of the two, or the silence after? There are a few different accounts of people being asked that, or them volunteering which they thought was worse. I've seen some interesting conversations about other people's thoughts on it over the course of many youtube comments over the years, and was just curious on your thoughts. For me, it would be the silence. After the ship lost power and sunk beneath the sea it was pitch black, and so silent because there was no wind, or moon. To be sure, the screams would be horrible... but the silence of knowing all of those people were gone would be gut wrenching for me. I don't know that I could ever have silence again, music, anything.

Dear Ron, I am 99 yrs old. And I am related to the Astors and we heard stories from family members, and the man that found my cousin, he said they found thousands of dollars in his pocket. If you think about it, all that money didn't save anyone's life. I have forgotten alot now. But we heard stories of my cousin after he was found floating in the cold water. Thank you so much for remembering someone from that very sad time. God Bless you Lad!

Ron, my love died in September 2020 from cancer. Every morning, I go to the cemetery to visit him. The Unsinkable Molly Brown is buried in the same cemetery and I pass her grave every day. She was a passenger on the Titanic and urged those in her lifeboat to go back to try to find more survivors. After having been rescued, she donated a lot of money to charity and did a lot of good in her life.

The sinking of the Titanic has always fascinated me. Just a perfect storm of events and weather conditions that lead to what is honestly a freak accident. The ship was very well designed, the crew did everything by the book, and there were actually more lifeboats onboard than required by Board of Trade regulations. The bad thing about this whole disaster is that Titanic would have survived if she hit the iceberg in any other way except the one she did.

Wallace Hartley the bandmaster who went down fully dressed in his finest was born and buried in colne Lancashire about 10 miles away from where I live. His body was found 2 weeks after the titanic went down with his instrument was found strapped to his body. Once he was brought back to Lancashire they estimated around 40 thousand people turned up for his funeral.

Great video Ron! I'm not sure how true it is but my uncle told me a story about how my family was expecting items to be sent to them in Michigan from family left in Belgium but either something happened where it didn't make it in time to be put on the ship or it was going to be sent out on her next voyage so my great grandparents along with their three children (my great aunt wasn't born yet) went to go get the items themselves. There is a record of my great grandparents and my grandpa and his two brothers returning to the US from Belgium at Ellis island in June 1912 so there could be some truth to the story.

Such a heartbreaking account from Jennie, I can't even fathom how horrible this was. The poor lady, I'm not surprised that she was so traumatized years later. A tragedy brings out the best and worst of us. Jennie giving her coat to keep that man warm, was the essence of kindness. The image of the band playing as the ship was sinking, always brings tears to my eyes. And then seeing Nearer my God to thee on her stone. 😪 Her poem was so moving, and with the music, oh my gosh, I shed some tears for sure 😢. There is something about the story of the sinking of the Titanic that has always captivated me, as I know it has and does for so many. Even over other, more recent historical tragedies and events, the Titanic has always seemed one of the most real to me, in a more “physical” or “tangible” way. The film “A Night to Remember” is my favorite film concerning the event. And I’m a young person, 23! More younger folk need to watch that film.

Wow I watched the video it's so sad but there was a lot of greed involved with the people that built that and thought they could make the engine go faster and people said not God himself could sink the ship so there was a lot of things that were unfortunately said and done people wanting to go faster people not paying attention thinking it's Unsinkable so many tragedies could have been avoided but unfortunately with breed and people not paying attention and the Carpathia they didn't pay attention cuz they thought you know whatever the captain of the Carpathia was asleep at the time it's just a very tragic story thanks for sharing Ron

This was a very moving video. Thank you very much for your respectful and fascinating retelling of their story. Her poem at the end with that beautiful song in the background was particularly poignant - rest in peace.

Ron, I have viewed many of your videos and still have others of yours to watch. I don’t think there’s anyone who can tell the stories of the forgotten better than you. This story made me tear. It touched my soul. Not only a tragic event but a heartbreaking one for soooo many.

What a beautiful poem written in honor of her husband . He would be hailed as a hero in times vs the role models we LACK nowadays...
God bless them all . I have always been a person who can't get enough of the info on Titantic and her victims ..
I must say if ever in Pigeon Forge, Tenn ..you must stop and view the Titantic Museum...I loved every minute of it. Great video again ❤
