- The events that occurred in that first stage of the Falklands War (in South Georgia) in 1982 are detailed in this report, which includes copies of documentation, images, and a video provided by the businessman harmed by the British, where he recounts in the first person what happened with the purchase of the existing material in the South Georgia Islands, bought from a Scottish company in cash and in advance, which he was never able to retrieve. Moreover, it is not pleasant to find oneself involved in a war where so many people died. Moreover, it must be taken into account that the personnel he hired for the dismantling of the whaling plant and other materials were trapped on the island while that confrontation was happening near them and the subsequent transfer by the English to some unknown location. The families of the workers demanding explanations from Costantino Davidoff about the workers detained at the door of his home. What a tough moment. Here below, I am providing various reports in PDF format. It should be noted that in the Davidoff Report found below, you will see that he signs as "Honorary Founding Member of the Phoenix Squadron." This Squadron was created to collaborate with the Argentine Air Force, for the transfer of personnel and some equipment to different destinations, when on December 22, 1978, this country and its neighbor Chile were on the brink of war. The intervention of Pope John Paul II prevented this confrontation. The pilots of this squadron were mostly civilians, among them was Davidoff. The planes were lent by Argentine businessmen, in some cases they belonged to their companies, and others were their own property. Since there was no war, there was no activity. in any case, it was not dissolved. In 1982, during the Falklands War, they once again provided support to the Air Force, and the loan of planes by the businessmen was repeated. In this case, Davidoff was not a pilot of a plane. The activity of this squadron in the Falklands War encountered a greater variety of aircraft, among which were the Lear Jets. Since these planes developed more speed than the Sea Harrier, they were used in the war for high-altitude observation. Another advantage was that the British could not distinguish on their radars what type of aircraft it was, which forced them to send their planes to intercept them. which achieved the objective of clearing an area so that the Argentine pilots could attack. When the radar in the Falklands indicated that the British were coming for them, it was time to turn around and apply escape power. Unfortunately, on one occasion, apparently due to a technical problem, one of them lost power and was hit and shot down by an English plane. Its registration was T-24 and it crashed on Borbón Island, north of the Great Malvina, killing its entire crew, the commander Mr. Vice Commodore Rodolfo Manuel de la Colina. the co-pilot My Juan José Falconier, the aerial photographer Captain Marcelo Pedro Lotufo, the communications operator Non-Commissioned Officer Francisco Tomás Luna, and the aircraft mechanic Non-Commissioned Officer Diego Antonio Marizza. Also, the Fenix Squadron has fallen heroes in the defense of our homeland. I take this opportunity to pay a small tribute to the Argentine radio amateurs, who also contributed to this war with their equipment. and no one remembers them. They turned their antennas to the south, in search of frequencies used by the English. There were some positive results. DAVIDOFF REPORT drive.google.c... REPORT BY MIGUEL A. CHAI drive.google.c...
