PS: Anesu sadly fractured his elbow. He only realized this the next day after the adrenaline had worn off… he’ll be back riding in about 1-2 months though! 💪🏽💪🏽
This dude is one of the most Underrated content creators. He remodels complex intellectual discussions into more relatable social experiences. His artistic flow is also good to watch. Will always appreciate people that show us the world thru their eyes. Was recently in E-swatini thru his other videos and I loved it. We are in Constantia now. Watch him!
For a long time I thought you stopped releasing videos, I've been waiting. I just caught up on your 3 recent videos and I've never been this excited its been a while (the notifications have been quiet). I love your content man, and that was a great voice-over intro.👌
Financially challenged... lol I started this video much earlier and can't remember if you said whether you or you're buddy had much experience cycling... That looked like a rough tumble he took. When I bought my first motorcycle a couple hundred years ago I remember hearing, 'You don't truly know how to ride until after your first accident.' This accident came fairly quickly... although I'm not sure it taught me anything in hindsight. =] I would imagine cycling is the same... I've enjoyed cycling as well... long distance touring. Months on end, 6,000 miles was my longest tour. I don't know if mountain bikes are the same as road when it comes to the height of the saddle, but if they are, your buddy's saddle is set a little low. This takes some of the enjoyment out of riding and is tough on the knees. I love your attitude, enjoy your channel... and what a beautiful area you live in! I'd love to cycle on and off road there... But after seeing the video of the two chaps, security guards, being chased on the freeway some time ago... the back of my shirt would read, "Financially Challenged." All the best to you and yours!
a couple hundred years ago 😂. Thanks for sharing. We’re fairly new to the hobby and we definitely looking forward to exploring it a lot more. This was Anesu’s first tumble but he’s keen to get back on the bike as soon as his elbow is healed. We’ve both been experimenting with seat heights lately so We gonna try raise the seat a bit to see if he can find a more comfortable height.
Lol, I can relate. When I first went into MTBiking the first bike I bought was Giant for R3000 then bought a Merida for R6000 now I have a R18000. When I first started I never thought I'd be spending so much. What's crazy is that when I'm working I'm planning to buy a full suspension which is even more expensive
I am so looking forward to a full suspension bike but damn bruh they start at well over 20K 🥺🥺🥺. Who knew bikes could cost as much as cars 😂. Where do you do your riding?
The timing of this video. I started biking this year and am looking into mountain biking. I borrowed a bike for 2 weeks so I could enter a race. The bike broke the first time I rode it and it cost me about to R3k to get it fixed and replace the parts. After some research I see that it is a rather expensive bike so maintaining it is also pretty expensive. So yeah, not a cheap hobby. Anyways, looking forward to more of your mountain biking journey/vlogs. Shout out to Anesu.
Damn that’s quite a steep repair bill 😳. Owning a bike is basically like owning a car, maintenance and services and all. People even get loans to buy bicycles 😲
This got me thinking and I realised there are actually cheap hobbies out there. Skate boarding,Roller skating,Salsa,Bachata,Kizomba,Tennis which also helps keep u fit e.t.c I've also come to realise golf is much cheaper in South Africa compared to the rest of Africa cz obviously u have lot's of golf communities. $700 could get u into an exclusive members-only club that reciprocates with well know clubs all over the world. That would probably cost u $5000+ in other parts of Africa. I'm not sure about Zimbabwe, but I know as a Zimbabwean u must have experienced that feeling of South Africa being a "value for money" Country esp for Upper middle class and above. It's got luxury for the cheap.
Yeah those are actually some nice hobbies that can also keep you fit. Just remembered there’s even ice skating this side and I once tried that out and enjoyed it! And you’re so right about things being pricey in ZIM. It definitely is cheaper to explore a lot of hobbies this side. I remember when I was looking for my first camera in ZIM the prices where ridiculous until I started searching in SA! The perks of having a functional economy 🙃🙃
Sorry to Anesu. I was considering mountain biking as a new hobby in 2022 but no thanks. About photography - Tino, do you sell your old cameras or you keep them?
You totally should! His crash was a mistake honestly you will be fine. As for my cameras, I sold my first camera because I needed the money as a student, but now I just keep them because you can never have too much gear 🙃
Bikes are kinda pricey... Like for an okayish bike you are looking at R8k.....I love your intro btw looks super nice. When your friend fell I literally felt his pain OMG is he okay?
Thank you 😊 Dude the prices are insane 😖😖. My friend is doing okay now. He has a sling to support his arm now and recovery should be less than 2 months.
... Wait, you use Linux??? 01:31 I picked up a second hand, slightly better than the cheap stuff Raleigh duel suspension(was around R4500 second hand), making some cheap upgrades with both new and second hand parts so far and I like it. Other people have reviewed it and have been using it for years in it's stock configuration. So yes, some of the supermarket bikes can be kak, but not all, especially if you have an experienced bike mechanic build it and tune it for you. Enjoy!

Hey Tino! What plants were you growing? 👀
Totes keen to tag along on y’all’s mountain biking expeditions some time 😅
Yeah sure Michelle it would be lovely to have you tag along 😊… as for plants… I was trying to grow flowers for my balcony 😑

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH IT'S NEW LECTURE THEATRE
I also would never imagine spending 20,000 on a camera. I must get on this level

I'm trying to get to the point in my life where I see a price tag of R10,000 and not immediately give up on the hobby because cheyyyyy
Man thats cheap here in Australia, a proper mountain bike goes for roughly minimum Aud2000.00.

Pretending to be shocked about Cape Town's disrespectful weather
😂 you just gotta learn to live with it
