- I took a trip to Eswatini over the Heritage Day weekend to attend a friend's traditional wedding. It was an awesome time experiencing how these two cultures ( Sotho and Swati ) came together with different ways of approaching Lobola and meeting halfway. Also got a chance to explore Eswatini for a bit, driving around in the nice roads of Mbabane while I stayed over at Mlilwane Nature Reserve.

The Lodge was okay for me but loved the greenery around.
True, I can imagine how much greener it would look in the rainy seasons ( but those mosquitoes though) and lots to explore too through self-guided tours.

I'm from eSwatini, the gripe with the name change for most emaSwati is that it came from nowhere. It was just a pronouncement without proper channels being followed, otherwise I love the new name

Are you allowed to take photos of the wildlife using your drone?
Nah no drones allowed near the nature reserves and game parks unfortunately. You need some sort of special permission which no one can give you any details about so just figured i would continue without... I also wasn't sure about drone laws in Eswatini so decided to just keep it parked the whole trip to avoid trouble with the authorities ( police presence is very high )

Hey Tina people say Eswatini is smilar to Zim (in terms of looks)do u agree
I would say the landscape shares a lot of similarities with the Eastern Highlands.... so Nyanga, Honde Valley, Chimanimani, etc... very mountanous, but a lot more populated in those areas compared to how the eastern highlands are in Zim.
What was your budget like for this trip, roughly?
Thinking of taking a holiday
The rough breakdown
Car rental - R4,500 including fuel
Accomodation - R700 x 3 days
Food - probably about R200 per day (ate a lot at the wedding)
Activities - about R500 in total

Nah still a cpt baby. I flew in from CPT and then hired the car to Eswatini.
