@@protestant7778 The Church agrees with Seventh-day Adventists, as Scripture itself indicates in Hebrews 4:9, “So then, there remains a Sabbath rest for the people of God.” However, the Bible tells us that this “rest” being spoken of is not the seventh day. The “seventh day” was a shadow of a rest that only Christ could actualize. Hebrews 4 seems to indicate that the Jewish “seventh day” has been superseded-or, more properly, fulfilled-in “another day,” “a certain day” that is a new “Sabbath rest for the people of God.”
What day is this? Well, it certainly is not Saturday. But in Hebrews, it is not so much a day as it is in a person: Jesus Christ. In fact, the entire discussion of “the Sabbath rest” disappears into the discussion of our “great high priest who has passed through the heavens, Jesus, the Son of God”

The Orthodox Church will never and has never allowed women into the seven Holy Orders wether minor or major. The “lector’s” were not even conferred with tonsure. Since the 3rd century and probably before that those men undergoing Holy Orders would receive tonsure before being ordained to the minor orders which are porter, lector, exorcist and acolyte. The three major orders are subdeacon, deacon and priest. I received tonsure at Epiphany and am training to be made a porter which will probably happen on Ember Saturday this Lent. I am glad that the Orthodox Church, unlike Rome, has preserved these traditions untouched by the modern world. Pope Cornelius wrote about the process of going through Holy Orders in the 3rd century and has remained unchanged in the western rites of the Orthodox Church, founded by our Lord Jesus Christ.

I didn’t know they weren’t allowed to become lectors or catechist. This looks more of the same from Pope Francis, he needs to stop all this divisiveness like destroying the TLM and focus on things that are destroying the church.

@@krishyyfan5153 yeah because it’s the people in the TLM who are the ones that don’t believe in the true presence of Christ in the Eucharist, it’s also the people who are seeing a decline in church attendance and the degradation of all seven sacraments. You have to really question why these are happening. Remember that only 30 percent of all Catholic believe in the real presence of Christ in the Eucharist. There is no reverence in the Novus Ordo, I’m not saying that it is not legitimate mass, but when you start pushing secularism and a lot of things that destroy the holiness of the mass it’s not about bowing down to authority it’s about questioning what exactly is happening in the church that our lord Jesus Christ laid down on earth and if he would see what is happening at the mass would he approve of what is going on. Our true and only head of the church is Christ at the end of the day.

@@krishyyfan5153 numbers are in decline everywhere, the only place you see a rise in the numbers is Africa, and even those are said to be in decline with Protestantism on the rise there. No one is saying the TLM was immune to anything, but you have to see the correlation between V2 and the huge decline in church attendance and the faithful. No other time in the church history do we see a decline as big as you do after V2 and the change of the mass. In the history of the church you have an actual increase of the faithful after each council, and the reverse has happened here. The cure to this is not becoming more like the Protestant churches. How are you going to address these problems when the church as a whole is having a crisis, there are not enough men that are become priest, abortion is on the rise, you have a lgbtq problem, the rise in sexuality morality, and again I point out that only 30 percent of Catholics believe in the true presence of Christ in the Eucharist. When the church is trying to find out what it is and when you have leaders that can’t definitively say what is wrong and what is right that when you have to start looking at when these problems started to arise and we see a correlation with the banning of the TLM and the sexual revolution and the church trying to redefine what it is in todays church. You can’t tell me the church is ok when people who are calling themselves Catholic can’t even recite a simple prayer, or tell you the stance of the church on certain subjects. And the more we go down this road of secularism and trying to modernize and make the church revolve around what society deems the Church should look like you can bet the decline is going to be there. Jesus prophecies this in the scriptures, that his faithful and the decline of the church is one of the sign of the end of the world we are truly living it if you think that because we adhere to Tradition we are the ones that are destroying the church. You really ask yourself is the destruction of the TLM the thing that is going to solve every problem I mentioned above or are the just trying to use it as a scapegoat.

Since I have credibly been doing that for thirty plus years: three decades plus, without the pomp, recognition and celebrity, where is the recognition for Scotland in the UK amidst the British territories, never mind a thanks and recognition for myself?
Help me Lord, please. I am nearing a strange impatience with this Holy Church who couldn't even bring me Jesus:Holy Communion after being sick doing my Church tasks, again of visiting the sick. I gave up my very hard worked career and lots of money morally for this Holy Church too! Funny how in the "community" that Our Lady directed me too , from Glasgow, where Our Lady's two Angels, form the picture of Our Lady of Perpetual Help, quite literally appeared behind at the back of
me, and yet even although I daily carried out the Holy Bible readings in Saint Andrew's Cathedral Glasgow, the new "communities" seemed to be too jealous to let me take part! (As for the music -credit to the dead Holy Priest- I will tell you about that astonishing fiasco later, okay). Although it was alright to "Educate" your Clergy and Politicians!!! Disgraceul inadequacy on the part of the Holy Church. I must say however, when given the chance to receive Jesus in Holy Communion, my heart is much more kinder and patient!
I am also not enamoured with the apparent "Politics" that I see of this Church!
And all those people, some Holy at that, all sitting there in those fancy Holy buildings and outfits! Why are they not given the "individual Community Programme" of death defying Holy Church works, that the Clergy and Educational bigshots put upon me to the detriment to me and my Family??? An answer to this would at least respect my astonishing very hard work, right?
Oh and by the way to quote you :
"I have not been overlooked" as the True Teaching God gave me and that I have trustingly passed on, has been very well taken up by you!
A "thank you" at least would have been polite and encouraging!
Anyway, may God shed His Light upon us all and give us His Peace!
    Thank You Lord.
I am glad you are "listening" on the journey.
    Thank you Holy Pope Francis.

@@jaqian no, but that is a nice strawman argument. There are a percentage of heterosexual priests who do become sexual predators in a number of ways related to celibacy. For example, children are a soft target that you can manipulate in to being quiet about your encounter. Or threaten them will hellfire or notions that both you and the child will "get in trouble" if "anyone finds out." There are also men who become predators because they are sexually immature and have not experienced any sort of healthy sexual development and are confused by their sexual nature. Then there is the fact that the requirement of celibacy immediately filters out most high caliber men for the priesthood, because the vast majority of high caliber men would not forego the opportunity to have a family and sex life to fulfill basic needs of human happiness. Which leaves you with the sexually inept, closeted homosexuals, sexual predators and a couple of saints who's religion would have them choose between their vocation and being happy.
