Funnily enough I bought the GS750DB in black in the same year - NBP 210R. Great bike back in the day but I don’t hanker after it now.
I was fortunate enough to pick up a 1973 H1-F in the early 2000’s for £1500. I sold it after two years of fun and thought I did well getting £2,000 for it.

One of my favourite bikes.Took me through rain, hail and freezing temperatures. Sorry I ever let it go, but had to buy an engagement ring. Oh well, had plenty of bikes afterwards, but none were like these bikes were.

You have made this "Iconic" Bike look like new, no wonder you keep it under cover over
the winter months, when the roads are salty and eat into the metal. It looks like new,
and they are selling to over £20K for a one like yours. Just Keep it and Love it. I never
got to own one, but my younger Brother bought a ratty one back in 1986 for £250 and
he let me ride it around the block. Wow, it felt like a Big Bike, but when he took it out for
a long ride, it became noisy. We took the cylinder block off, and discovered that the rings
had broke. I read the manual, and it said, check the rings off the piston, and if they nip
file a bit off, which we did, and after a rebore, and oversize pistons, rings, and new small
end bearings, we put it all back together. The only problem we had was, not having a
torque wrench, we had a water leak. So, I pushed it through our town centre, to the
Mechanic who fixed the problem. It was Bloody heavy, me being a 9 stone weakling at
the time. I even ran with it across the zebra crossing, slamming on the front brake to
avoid hitting someone. But he had many years of riding pleasure out of it, until the early
1990's, when he sold it to some "Moron" for, wait for it £600 to a Guy who thrashed it
mercillessilly until he seized up the engine we had just rebuilt. BASTARD!

As a poor teenager I had to make do with a GT550. Absolutely loved it, but it did not stop me drawling over the 750. Finally rode one about thirty years later. Felt insanely fast and I lost my bottle at about 1/4 throttle. Had the same experience with a ZZR600. Now been back into biking for about 5 years with a litre Honda. Would love to have another go on a GT750, at least I could give it a good thrashing without shitting myself.

My best friend owned a brand new red one in 1977 I was 16 I used to go on the back of it
He was a very good rider but tragically his fuse failed on his GT750 and he went on the back of his friends bike a Triumph and was killed the day I left school when the Triumph bike crashed
His GT750 was still at his home he was only 19 I’m 61 years old now

@@davemarthacali Hi Dave, that's a very sad story, I also had one of these back in the day coincidently, I was also 19 when I got mine in red, had to get my dad to be a guarantor, as I got it on finance, so I have gone back down memory lane and got this one. This bike was originally grey metallic before the restoration, so this is not the bike your referring to, please have a look at this link to the refurb and please Subscribe to my channel by clicking the subscribe button.
