Love it - fresh and youthful! My only beef with a spf setting spray is that a few spritzes is not enough to get the recommended coverage. So I prefer to use a regular spf under makeup and setting spray to touch up throughout the day if needed!
Absolutely fair. But I still wanted to offer an option for those people who hate wearing sunscreen or just forget to put it on. I figure some is better than none, right?
i agree about ensuring enough SPF coverage. i have been disciplining myself at making sure that i have enough SPF coverage. with all my acne and scarring, i'm terrified at the thought of worsening all those when not wearing proper amount of SPF. however, i also end up with the dilemma of which SPF works with which base makeup e.g. silicone based SPF with silicone based base, more emollient SPF with drier/powder base, etc. whenever i don't get the pairing right, the base just looks horrible
I really liked this tutorial because you look like you just came in from a run without a stitch of makeup on and this is a look I can get behind for everyday!
That first tip is a sure winner for me! Ive watched so many hours of makeup tips and havent heard that one. Ive noticed that with aging even a small amount of sheer foundation emphasizes texture when in the wrong place but does great in the right place. So this make a lot of sense! Ive heard of spot concealing but dont use a concealer, which is usually over foundation but I will try that with foundation. Thank you! Otherwise, I already do the other tips except lip liner is a must for my shrinking lips lol, but you look great without that!
Great tutorial. I subscribed. Speaking of freckles, I had them when I was young and hated them. I actually tried scrubbing them off. Didn't work, but as I grew older, they left. Now I'm 60 and not sure how they'd look at my age, but they look great on you.
I actually use a cherry red lipstick for my lips and cheeks-I just dab it on my cheeks and then dab it on my lips and then work the color in. Clear gloss, brows, and mascara, and I just look fresh-it’s a perfect no makeup look.
Haha thank you! You’re definitely not alone but I love freckles! I think they’re beautiful and adorable and I wish I had more (though my derm is prob happy I don’t) 😂
I’m in my late 40’s. So basically the same makeup routine that I’ve had since in my 20’s minus the freckles! The same makeup routine many European women actually use.
I almost did but didn't want the video to be too long! I would recommend to do a few a time and then have a clean brush or sponge handy to blot them out. I work in stages around my cheeks and nose, alternating the two freck pens for a more natural look!
my nose and around it have always been my biggest challenges with makeup. seems like no matter what i do, the base just ends up sinking into the pores on and around my nose, like having makeup pin dots on my face. the best i've gotten to not have such issue is when i use silicone base, but i'm trying to minimize usage of silicone based products as well
you know what's funny? I was planning on doing a tutorial to help prevent nose patchiness! I think I'll have to release that soon! And my approach doesn't use silicones at all.
I would color correct with a peach corrector lightly before going over it with concealer. Light layers are key. It also depends on how light or deep your skin tone is too, depending on what color corrector you would use.
I was a bit amused by this video, because I‘m at the age where one gets hot flushes and they are not welcomed. I also have freckles which I think look youthful. But with the rosacea I have red spots around my nose, chin and cheeks which I try to cover up. Your video with the use of concealer is unfortunately mainly for young skin, as under eye coverage tends to look bad on aging skin. So be it, I‘ll try my best to use concealer on the red spots, but don‘t cover up my freckles, use a bit of highlighter, mascara and define the brows to get a youthful look at 50+
It sounds like you've found what works for you! I used concealer only to show another approach to "no makeup makeup", but I always encourage people to use what works best for them!! My approach will always be skincare focused first, then makeup. And I recently had my very first bout with eczema, so I can sympathize on dealing with skin issues. Thank you for watching!
I would see if you can try the REFY Cream blush in Cherry or the RARE Beauty Soft Pinch Liquid Blush in Grateful. I think the REFY will be closer in formula to the BASMA, but I haven't tried that one.
@@MsVintagejazz that one is good but I find it has a large learning curve as far as application. I haven’t used it in years for that reason, maybe it’s changed?
I get it! I actually almost didn’t put mascara on but was afraid it wouldn’t look “done enough” on camera for the whole look. But yes, sometimes no mascara is a winner if you can pull it off! Or even brown mascara. 🤎
I feel like it depends on the shape of your face rather than your age. But also: I say if you like the way blush looks on the apple of your cheeks, do it. I believe in doing what makes ourselves happy and what makes us feel good!
You're olive. Also, you skipped the foundation but covered your entire face with concealer? I think this is why we use foundation. Because we have uneven skin tone and discoloration and redness all over our faces.
The beauty of makeup is that we can all make our own choices; for this video, I chose to use only concealer because that's how I was feeling and I wanted to show something easy!
@@tracyintexas4743 I completely agree! I love that you have found what works best for you. That’s another reason why I try to do all sorts of different techniques with different products; to give some variety for people looking for options!
I use a bit of concealer in different spots of my face (the dark areas, like under the eyes, corners of nose, corners of mouth), it's more then enough to make my face flawless and even. I don't use foundation. Sometimes instead, i use tinted moisturizer. The result is much more light, youthfull and natural in both cases.

Thank you for your reply! I totally hear you and understand what you're saying. This approach was more about the technique of the blush and the freckles, as well as giving more options of application. The sunscreen spray is meant as an option for those who hate wearing sunscreen or just don't like the way it feels under makeup. I'm by no means endorsing it. Though I do use that Coola spray in my purse to refresh my sunscreen throughout the day when I can't fully reapply.
