    I recently received my own 64ohm beryllium xtc2. Very happy with them so far. I prefer the xtc2 over the ZMF Verite. The xtc2 is one of the few headphones that I don't feel the need to EQ.

    William thank you for taking notice on the fact that I customize each tuning for each user and anything is possible I think - I thought your review was great as usual! I really try very hard to please each one of my customers tastes. Picking a customized driver where I hand match each beryllium driver in 32, 64 or 300 ohm driver for each and every set and offer so many different custom woods is part of the excitement for me and each customer- I make relationships with everyone I interact with and I love it! I should mention I offer 7N occ internal wiring and customized tuning as you stated for life - I love what I do and my customers speak for me- I try and go above and beyond for each and everyone of them- Sincerely, John Massaria

    Thank you for the review William. It is a fine job. I'm just commenting to say I ordered the XTC open back berylium driver last week. I have to say that the communication with John has been nothing short of amazing. I emailed him my equipment & my sound preferences after the order. I got an email back right away showing all of the types of wood available. They were all beautiful. I chose African Zebra wood. If the XTC's come anywhere near the quality of the JM customer support I will be a happy listener. Having input about your preferences is just terrific! Kudos to Mr, Massaria!

    I've got the XTC 2 and William is 100% correct. These are the best bang for the buck HP's on the market. I sold my CALDERA after getting these.

      @@genohero6139 I've never heard the XTC Closed Back 2.5 or any other JM Audio headphone. All I can comment on is the XTC 2 Open Back. The best way for me to compare it to other HP's is to say the XTC 2 Open competes with HP's 3X its price. John the Owner is a magician with tunings and will work with you on getting the type tuning you want. My HP is a great all rounder that has Nice impactful Bass, Good Soundstage and Great Detail. Pretty remarkable for a HP that cost me a hair over $1K. Like i said after doing an AB test with my Caldera I sold them. I'm a big believer in diminishing returns. You don't need to spend TOTL money to get an excellent Audio/HP setup. The XTC 2 Open Back proves this in spades

    Great review William. Unfortunately importing one of these would add at least 20% to the price for me. I'm very happy with the Arya Stealth that I got 18 months ago. The Hifiman's go on sale reasonably often so I might hold off for the next HE1000 refresh.

    Excellent review, thank you. I'm wondering how it stacks up against the LCD-2? To me the LCD-2 has the best bass out of all of the open back Audeze's.

    Hi about the comparison with the xtc2 and the he1000 stealth on the Soundstage wich One Is bigger? The details and soundstage of the hek stealth Is One of the thing i love the most of those hp but you got me curios on the jm hp thanks for your great work 💪🏼🎶

      I guess I forgot to mention soundstage in my comparison with the He-1000 Stealth. I would say width and depth are similar with the height advantage going to the 1000 Stealth.

    You inspired me and took the plunge! Couldn't be happier with XTC2, and even just ordered 1.5 closed :) What was your favorite amp dac with XTC2? Sounds like tubes?

      My favorite amp with the XTC-2 is the Feliks Audio Elise.

      And I love your comment that Feliks Echo performs almost as well at half the price:)
      I want to add my experience for folks that I was coming from the Hifiman he1000 series. Started with se but found it way too bright, then moved to v2 (non stealth) but found it lacking too much bass to enjoy electronic, hip hop etc). Plus the oval shape and clamp force really also triggered my TMJ just like you.
      The XTC2 solved all my tuning issues with HFM hek series and is a much more comfortable HP to wear. Not to mention lower price than HFM. Love these JMA cans on all fronts- I can enjoy any genre for waaayyy longer without fatigue.

      they are custom tuned so no chance of any graph will be like anoyone elses- every driver is custom matched by me- every XTC custom tuned by me for that user

    I think the HE1000SE is $1999 and the HE 1000 Stealth is $1399 - it can get confusing - I think SE stands for Special Edition- I don't know for sure though

    • @theheadphoneexperience-wil2250
      @theheadphoneexperience-wil2250  7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      A little more detail than the Verite or Atrium, but less soundstage depth.
      The HE1000SE beats it in both detail and depth.
