    Great show....but it looked pretty painful. Keep it rolling.

      Thanks Frank, it was a wee bit painful between mile 85 and 120. Thanks for watching

    Really enjoyed this view of the race that most of us normally see. It is always tough to get enough miles in for the race when you are working a day job. Great to see you grit it through. I usually end up coming out of the event stronger for the next. It is a mental game just as much as it is a physical game.
    Cheers to the party at the back pace. Nice to see you kept you spirits up and rode together to the finish.

      Harry, so well said. I agree, best we can do is show up and fight to the very end. Certainly, builds confidence for the next event.

    Glad you finished, brother. The 150 took it out of me last year. I did the 75 this year. Hope you join us again next year!

      Amy indeed, less time in the TT bars this time around, wasn't too much of a solo effort. Evonne was blocking all the wind for me

    Just found your channel and getting caught up. That is so nice that they call out the names/hometowns of all the finishers. Wow, 11k' of elevation is serious.

    I did the DAMn (day across MN) and the feeling of following taillights at the start of the race is something I can't describe. I am thinking about doing this race this year.

    • @iowagravelgrinder
      @iowagravelgrinder  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      DAMn is on my list, how was your experience? We will be doing this event again this year. Hope to see you there and thank you for watching!

    • @bethbikes
      @bethbikes 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@iowagravelgrinder The DAMn is no longer an organized ride. I had a great experience but it was brutally hard. Starting at midnight is a completely different experience and caused some great sleep deprivation. A lot of the climbing in in the last 40 miles after you have already exhausted yourself in the first 200. 243 miles in 24 hours in no joke. I finished in 21 hours 6 mins (my goal was 21 hours but I so happy with my effort). There is no was way I would have finished without my support crew.
      Even though it is no longer an organized ride the route will always be there. It has very hard mental and physical battles. There is a hill that is called the wall. It maxes at 24% and I was so determined not to walk that I ended up riding passed everyone who was walking.

    • @eria3069
      @eria3069 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@bethbikes 😮‍💨 anytime I hear there's a segment called the wall. It's always a tough one. That's monster effort you put up though! I bet the 300 at Gravel worlds would suit you well

    • @bethbikes
      @bethbikes ปีที่แล้ว

      Everyone knows "the wall" there are enough of them but yet each one is different. I am really thinking about the 150. The 300 is a little intimidating to me without having my own support. I only make it across the state with the support of my crew who was cheering me on the whole way and by the end making decisions for me.
