Rule 1 always plumb on 45 and 90 degrees angles with hard pipe. Rule 2 always use primer on pvc because It make the joint fuse together. Then 2 or 3 years later when your trying to squeeze in the sump to do something you won’t pop or crack a joint.
Heat gun on the tubbing makes it easier to remove the hose from barb fittings. No damage to fitting eiter. Also helps assemble big tubing.
Flex PVC? I love it. I'd never plumb a tank without flex PVC. You need the 795 glue to make it perfect, but normal glue works. It can't kink, you don't need as many fittings, way easier to snake around and it's just as rock-solid, leak proof as Sch 40. For rigid plumbing I even like the irrigation PVC. Super easy to work with, glues just like Sch 40 or 80 and has a larger ID for more flow. It can "only" handle 200 PSI, whereas Sch 40 can handle 450, for 1 inch diameter.
Lol. Doing laundry in basement...lol. wtf is that vibration....gets me everytime...lololololol
Pictures or short vids would be nice to include with the presentation.
Even modern DC pumps still pass vibration through the return line, I’ve yet to own a pump I can hard plumb all the way back to the pump. Have a Royal Exclusiv coming to try but we will see
Do you have a scamatic pic of a proper sump set up. I want to try a sump but I see so many differant baffles and chambers, seems everybody has a differant set up. I'm at a loss as to how to build a proper and safe sump.
My AC Rossmont RX1400 and Skimmer Pump with the Waver can be adjusted in 1% increments from 1-100… Most DC pumps can’t even do that. Too bad they went out of business.
I use the thread abs bulkheads on my tank and I always have salt creep build up on the male threaded side. Am I suppose to use plumbing tape or am I doing something wrong?
We usually like to use a bead of aquarium safe silicone when installing threaded fittings into threaded bulkheads.
Awesome thanks I’ll try that while setting up my next one
Hey guys. I have the waterbox frag 165.6, everything’s up and running nicely except for the return pump. The return hose on the pump doesn’t tightly fit on the pump nozzle and when the water goes below the hose it starts to spit water out from the hose onto the sump walls. How do I fix this? Tape? I can’t get it on any tighter or lower on the nozzle.
Based on your description of the issue, the pump either has the wrong size barb fitting for the tubing that you're using, or you might simply need a hose clamp to keep the tubing on the pump's barb.

You don’t glue PVC. It’s actually a weld. You can’t use glue PVC effectively.
in regards to the dual return pumps do you guys recommend them both being the full turnover needed or splitting it in half between the two? THX!!!
We generally split the full turnover desired between the two pumps. If one pump happens to fail, the other pump running at half speed will be good enough to get you by until you can replace the failed pump.
@@BRStv boom that's what I was hoping you'd say, lol. Thanks for responding!!!
I find it funny that BRS is taking down my comments when I criticized shity shipping using USPS is a joke
I used to use USPS.. USPS isn't what they used to be. i use either fed ex or ups
@@gewglesux I don't know brs waste their time with USPS FedEx and UPS is 10 times better the government can't get nothing right I will not be buying stuff anymore from them
@@dobermanguy9437 Perhaps the merger will speed things up. not too many choices out there.
Yeah I just ordered Red Ogo from BRS, I know it comes from Algae Barn but it came USPS, it was a joke. It’s dead already, it was so cold and green. It had a heat pack but guess it wasn’t enough. Never again will I order anything alive from BRS.
I can assure you with 100% confidence, this is not the case. Only Adam and myself are in charge of reading/commenting on YT comments and removing valuable opinions/feedback, whether positive or negative, is not something we practice. As for our shipping options, I totally get your criticism towards the postal service. Over 80% of orders shipped from us is done via UPS, but we do have arrangements with USPS to ship packages of certain weights and sizes. Our mix of shipping options helps to keep the $5.99 flat rate and free over $49 shipping options alive. -Randy
