The man suspected of violently attacking a 65-year-old Asian-American woman in New York on March 29, 2021, was arrested and faces multiple hate crime charges. Brandon Elliot, 38, was caught on surveillance footage beating and repeatedly stomping on Vilma Kari as she was walking to church on Monday, police said. The suspect is a parolee convicted of murdering his mother in 2002, according to officials.

I think in psychology, it's called the Bystander Effect. And, sadly, yes, it's *much* more common than you'd think. People can talk about "If I were there" and all the 'what ifs' they want, but when push _actually_ comes to shove? Most people really will just let it happen and look the other way. We, as the viewers, were just happened to see such an extreme example as this caught on camera...

But my country is a poor one but if someone got beaten like this without doing anything? 1. It's bad raising up when you have injuries especially bone related, it can be worsen. She should had been rested on one spot. Don't get me wrong, I was rooting for her and I just don't want her to get more injury by trying to standup/walk. But I think she was not aware of how bad her injury was.

I don't think the parole officer had anything to do with him being paroled. That is decided by a "parole board" of different people who work within the prison. After a prisoners are released they are assigned to a parole officer who works out in the public. This horrible guy never should have been released. Unfortunately they only get so many years per each crime, sometimes they are let out early for different reasons. They usually commit more crimes, they get locked up again.
