How to Permanently Fix GeForce Experience & Share Feature

- GEFORCE EXPERIENCE v2.11.4.0: drive.google.c...
- To prevent Nvidia from forcing an update/blocking access to v2.11.4.0, you must delete the update .dll file, which can be found in the C:/ProgramFiles/NvidiaCorporation/GeForceExperienceService folder.
If you wish not to follow the aforementioned step (or if you can't find the update file), then you'll need to perform a fresh install of v2.11.4.0. Open it for the first time, set up ShadowPlay the way you intend to keep it, and never try to open GFE again - or you'll be prompted to update; in which case, perform another fresh install using the GFE v2.11.4.0 link above.

I no longer install the GeForce Experience. I started using Nvidia again since it was the only cards I could buy thanks to miners and when it was forcing me to sign in I instantly uninstalled it.

You need to set the service on "Disabled" instead of "Automatic", if you don't it will just start back up the next time you shutdown and turn on your pc

Wow 94°C. My Sapphire R9 390 barely goes to 72°C and this is without a custom fan curve. I have made it so it never goes past 60°C
WTF is wrong with you guys, why do you want to keep your gpu at 60, 70, and why is it untolerable at 94°C if your card is fine ?? this kind of electronics is made to do that. I won't imagine your reaction if you would know the VRM temperature of the card, you would have a heart attack or something.

I've been dealing with lot of frame drops in the recordings, with the latest GeForce Experience. Gaming performance were fine, but the videos were just full of frame drops and micro-freezes.
Thanks to you, now I can use the old Shadowplay, which is MUCH better!

Well they did something to it and now shadowplay just doesn't work on this version of GE
Worked like a champ! Folder names are different and I did not have to rename. Auto update did not perform and stopping service also was not required. In other words, leaving everything AS IS, worked for me! Do note, I was downgrading from beta v3.91.91

I followed the steps correctly but when I click on "My Rig" tab its says I have to connect to the internet, when I click 'retry' it tells me I cant connect to nvidia and try again later.

Damn,Greg back at it again,posting useful stuff right when you need it. Just installed Geforce Experience yesterday for Shadow play,and hated using it.
The old version linked in desc. is much simpler and easier to use IMO.
The only problem I've ever had is the hotkeys not working, but I uninstalled because I wasn't using it.
I had strange unstable framerates with it running.

Too bad windows 10 likes to automatically do EVERYTHING also (such as install a driver that caused me to get a bluescreen and then kept reinstalling said driver until i just gave up)

Another trick I used till now, as the method above worked for me, was to launch GFE, ignore the update window when it appears and launch the software again. This time it loads the GFE window without an update prompt. Then simply close the first (update prompt) window and use GFE normaly :D
I had done something similar to keep v2.11.4.0 and Shadowplay and it was working a couple of days ago. Today, Shadowplay has disappeared even though it still says v2.11.4.0. I uninstalled and reinstalled and tried what you have in this video but as soon as it comes up it's trying to update and has Shadowplay removed. I think nvidia has figured out an insidiuos way to keep people from doing this fix. Fresh install of v2.11.4.0 already has Shadowplay removed as soon as it's launched.
Hey, I found a way to get to Shadowplay. Right click the Geforce Experience shortcut on your desktop. Click "properties". In the target box add -shadowplay to the end so that it looks like this: "C:\Program Files (x86)\NVIDIA Corporation\NVIDIA GeForce Experience\LaunchGFExperience.exe" -shadowplay

How exactly is it not working? It doesn't auto open to Shadowplay? You have to be using GeForce Experience v2.11.4.0. Also your target may be slightly different so don't copy the "C:\Program Files... etc." part, just add a space and -shadowplay at the end of the target line. When it opens to Shadowplay you have to turn it on to where it looks like a green led lights up. Also you may have to click the cog wheel icon to get into GeForce Experience Preferences and then click "Allow desktop capture" to get it to record in game, even if you aren't playing in windowed mode.
Ok yeah, the main problem with me trying this method, is that it doesn't recognize the file path. With or without the space. Perhaps within the parentheses?
The -shadowplay is outside of the parentheses on mine. Does it recognize the file path if you leave it as it was originally without the -shadowplay? Because putting -shadowplay shouldn't interfere with it's recognizing the file path.
i'm glad i'm not the only one that thought that the updated geforce experience sucked down from its layout and instability its given me. The old version was easier to navigate and much more stable.

You could just uncheck geforce experience from instalation options if you ever paid more attention.

The update function used to be included in the control panel. It is obvious that nVidia wants to mine data.
And btw, what is wrong with a manual install?
raw driver install only, never have to uninstall it that way.
You should manual download the drivers from Nvidia anyway. A lot of people have issues whenever a new driver is there and they use the auto update in GE. The only reason people use GE is for shadowplay.
When a new driver is there, download from Nvidia. Then reboot PC in safe mode and run DDU (unplug ethernet cable if W10), boot back in normal mode and install driver you just downloaded simple, effecient and changes of issues are much much less.
Now, this is stuff we Really need to know about, but also how Geforce Experience crashes my game when i first try to use it. Btw, your painting is much better lol.

thanks for making this. i've had my 970 for over a year and ever since the 10 series drivers released i've had nothing but issues with it. hopefully this will improve my experience.

Just use OBS studio with the NVENC encoder if you want to record stuff and use the experience for driver support only.

NJBoden GFE is trash for updating drivers. Takes me 3 to 4 tries (more than 2 hours) to actually update.
I'm using it at the moment, and it's working perfectly well. I had an issue where I couldn't skip to a section of a large file. But I'll fix it
For those who want to get Nvidia share/shadowplay without uninstalling anything go to your GeForce experience app and right click it and then left click OPEN FILE LOCATION after that right click NVIDIA SHARE and then left click SEND TO and lastly click DESKTOP! Your welcome. I saw a video about it so this is just a quick guide!

I have three machines running GeForce experience all with different graphics cards and the only issue I have come across is that watchdogs 2 is unable to run with the newest driver. Though I can't be too mad because I got the game for free from them for no reason. Just checked my mailbox one day and saw a "redeem this code for either watchdogs 2 or division" sitting there.

I love this: The solution for fixing the GeForce Experience is to delete it and install an older version.
This video popped up as a result of a Google search for solutions to compatibility issues with the current version of Experience with the last patch to Windows 10. But I think NVidia has decided to take a page from Apple by forcing obsolescence. It will no longer allow users to optimize their games with this old version. Clicking My Rig says it cannot connect to NVidia so ShadowPlay and even streaming are disabled. It will tell you what version of the GPU drivers you have, but it will not check for updated drivers. Even better: going to NVidia's driver library to download new drivers downloads a "package" with the new version of GeForce Experience. Even if you tell it NOT to install Experience when you install the drivers, it will uninstall your old version.

SiD996 I wouldn't call it bloat ware. It's just trying to provide optimal fixes and support to give you the great features it has.
One of the best recording software out there is far from bloatware. It has gone down in quality in later updates, but that's what this video is for.

Got them both, RX480 8Gb and GTX1060 6Gb, went back to Nvidia because it usually gets better fps in the games that I play (PUBG, Witcher 3) but I prefer AMD as a company.

If just in case, the website which GFE accesses to check for updates can be echoed as 0.0.0.0 or 127.0.0.1, basically offline as a modified host, so even if they force for updates, it wont work and nothing else required. This wont work if GFE uses the same web address for everything...

The issue with Share not starting can be resolved by terminating all NVIDIA processes, opening GeForce Experience and then attempting to open Share. Some older versions of GFE had similar issues.
Solution: Get AMD

No, solutions aren't alternatives. This solution solves a particular problem. The suggested alternative doesn't address the problem and instead sidesteps it entirely.
If you have an NVidia card and want to use a decent version of the software suite, buying an AMD card doesn't solve your problem.

I already installed the old version of Shadowplay from the start that I had to log in to use the goddamn program. Still, never figured out how to do this. Big help man; I can finally install the drivers without having to use the sloppy recording/streaming software! Thanks a lot.

I have the most up-to-date GeForce experience and I can switch off and on the Share features as I please and it works. I don't why it's doing that for some people.
Not only is the GeForce Experience super buggy. But one of the Optimal Settings was completely under powered. I mean 900p all low settings. Keep in mind I have a 1060 which can run this game 1080p at all high. It's really unreliable. Not only that but it says I don't have a good system for Paragon Beta. I HAVE A 1060 IT WORKS!!!

If any internet applications are open, share sometimes wont work, but other than that, I have seriously NEVER had a problem with NVidia GeForce experience. Clean install every time, no issues with share outside what I mentioned though.

THANK you Greg, got a used gtx 670 for my sister's PC and Geforce experience has been causing annoying issues ever since.
I'm running version 2.11.40, works perfectly and has been for years, it's sad isn't it, that us users need to come up with our own solutions because these greedy companies wont allow us to use older versions, it's clear Nvidia doesn't like people using this version, i had to roll back my drivers because the new ones were blocking the old version of GE, and it's again sad that we need to roll back several years to have the program working again, this is essentially modern software in a nutshell.

Own a gtx 750 gtx 950m, rx 480, and gtx 970, and owned a 9800gt. Across all four nvidia cards, updated to the latest GfE, if not drivers (9800gt), GfE in its current state works completely fine. If I have to be honest, I've had more issues out of the Crimson Edition interface on AMD than GfE on NVidia. Not sure where everybody's problems with GfE come from. Not that I can backdate anyway, since I use GameStream to either Moonlight or my original Shield (I refuse to call it the portable!!), and Gamestream works extremely smooth over AC1200 5GHz wifi, delay isn't even noticeable @1080P60 set to 50MBPS bitrate. This is with the latest GfE too.

Shouldn't You also change the "Startup Type" for the "GfExperience Service" FROM:"Automatic" TO:"Manual" (or even "Disabled")? To avoid the service starting up "Automatically" the next time the computer is restarted..?

I had the same issue but figured it out, it was Bitdefender free edition that was causing it. I just uninstalled it and restarted my Laptop and now it works again!
I remember back in the day people were like "AMD drivers sucks!" It wasn't true then and it most certainly isn't true now.

i personally don´t have GeForce Experience Service only Nvidia GeForce Experience and there is no update.dll
