Happy to have you around! I should mention this Green dial variant is sharper than it's blue and red dialed brethren, I think it has to do with the gold indices. I've never been a big fan of the previous cocktail time- they were lacking some fun colors, this changes things for me. Gorgeous is the right word! All in all I am 100% with you. Seiko is really packing all they can at this price
This watch is so gorgeous that I went way beyond my personal budget limit and got it. I couldn't say no. I must say the dial is incredible. A video does not do it justice. I agree that the strap is awful both in colour and comfort. The clasp digs in to my wrist and that was a deal breaker. I've replaced it with a matte brown traditional strap and it is now perfect in my eyes.
It was a tough choice between this and the SRPE43J1 which is the blue version. Ultimately I went with the blue version, but all of the different colors in this model are absolutely gorgeous and stunning. Great review and love your video lighting. It really highlights that beautiful and intricate dial.
Just bought the green dial one, it's a beautiful timepiece considering the price. The red and blue one are also beautiful but I chose the green one eventually
I love it on the leather nato. People will be sure to disagree with me but I see no reason this watch couldn’t be worn both casually or with formal attire.
To everybody complaining about hardlex vs sapphire: hardlex has a rating of 8 on Mohs scale and Sapphire has a rating of 9 so sapphire is not leaps and bounds ahead but is more likely to shatter from impacts. Hardlex is still much better than standard mineral glass.
Exactly, however people like to criticise in order to show they are a true watch connoisseur who knows what they are talking about. If your watch is hitting things so hard it is shattering the crystal, you have bigger things to worry about than whether it's hardlex or sapphire.
Anything can be broken and scratched if you're careless enough. Of course accidents happen in everyday life, but people talk of sapphire as an absolute must as if it can resist nuclear impacts.
@@Fjerid sapphire doesn't scratch. Mineral scratches easily but is tougher than sapphire. Acrylic is the most scratch-prone but the toughest (also buffing scratches from acrylic is the easiest)

I’ve got 4 cocktail times including the original sarb065, I love them to bits. I love this new green one and the turquoise version... HOWEVER as with all things Seiko the price is getting too expensive for what they are. If I can find them on sale a few months down the line then I’ll get them, but otherwise the Seiko markup is getting too high.
I own this watch and thinking send it to the service center cause the watch ran slow, but I don't know what to do when I notice the cost of the maintenance is more than the retail price of the watch itself.
I love seiko, $500 price point no it makes sense to use a sapphire crystal. Loreo has a $63 price point and comes with sapphire. Beautiful watch, I'm considering the red dial hardlex crystal and all.
They could’ve done more but I feel like they left the sapphire out on purpose, because it would shoot closer to the sharp edged series that just released. Whatever the reason you’re right a sapphire crystal would perfect this!
Great watch and superb review! For Pete's sake though, Seiko, put a sapphire crystal on these dress watches. The spectacular dial would be wasted with a scratched crystal.
You’re right. I would’ve loved to see a nice sapphire crystal. Maybe seiko thought owners of this watch would be busy drinking cocktails and taking their leisurely time. Rather than rebuild engines with it on their wrist? 😂 Either way a sapphire crystal would elevate this to best entry level dress watch
@@perpetuality unfortunately, rebuilding engines isn't the only way to scratch a crystal. And I get your point but indulge me. I write for a living and I tend to baby my watches, especially the dressier pieces. So, imagine my surprise to find my cocktail fuyugeshiki with a huge scratch on the crystal. It put me off the cocktail time after that experience. I think that if a crystal protrudes from the case as much as this does, it should be sapphire. I'd be willing to pay extra to protect those gorgeous dials.
100% agree with you, I cannot imagine the cost differential for a sapphire crystal to be that great, considering micro brands can do so much for so little. The crystal also protects the bezel in a way- and having it sapphire just has more benefits with little to no downsides. The only downside I can think of is gray banding around the edge of the sapphire crystal because of the distortion. Like the Speedmaster sapphire. There are some other arguments for hardlex having better optical clarity and less prone to being shattered, but i would still have sapphire for its scratch resistance Let’s hope maybe crystal times or a third party can release a sapphire crystal down the road?
@@perpetuality that's true. I only know of one. Are you familiar with Long Island Watch here on TH-cam? They sell a third party crystal for the cocktail time.
