- Wait.... Can you commute on a Onewheel? Maybe I should buy one, but which one?
Lets skip the technical aspect and talk practical as we celebrate this board approaching 10,000 miles!
As a commuter, the pint was my first love. I was nervous, it was cheaper than a cellphone. So I decided to take the plunge. Now I use it every day. In the heart of NYC, where the hustle is real and every minute counts, the Onewheel GT stands out as a game-changer for daily commuters, and a productivity device. Forget about traffic jams, crowded subways, and delayed buses. The Onewheel GT offers a new dimension of freedom and efficiency, fly like a bird.
Thousands of Onewheel videos and this ONE video answers ALL the questions i had.... without the ego or bias or blatant pandering.
Crazy the makers of this haven't reached out or commented, 10,000 miles is crazy! Got to be more than the vast majority of people riding them.
10/10, i rarely comment but logged in just to thank you for making this.
foreal
I'm at 29 minutes into the video and surprised how much good content there is for a 1hr+ video of you commuting. The details you discuss in the commentary is very good. I love the topics you're discussing.
all the people I interact with are bored of me ranting about how much I love my Onewheel, figured I'd rant online! xD. Glad you enjoyed it @onewheel
dude answers questions I didn't even know to ask! Kept me locked in for an hour
No comment from the Onewheel account on this video is absolutely wild. They need to do something for people who reach this type of mileage!
right?
Onewheel’s marketing feels off-they’re focusing on niche groups like stoner skaters and hippie ravers who might not afford their high-priced products. This misalignment could lead to low sales and wasted marketing efforts. By not targeting people with actual purchasing power-like mountain bikers, professionals aged 25-40, and commuters-they’re missing out on huge market opportunities and potential growth. Their approach might also confuse the brand’s image and dilute its premium appeal by showing tattooed stoners and "free-spirited" people vs a nice balance of tech nerds and adrenaline seekers.
@@AudiHere69totally agree with you there. They need to support their power users more. Not just people who can do some fancy tricks here and there. For a board like this, seeing someone hit 10k miles should be a huge flag to partner with you and highlight the durability and practicality of this product. I absolutely love my GT but I’m glad I bought it on a secondary market so I didn’t have to give them my money directly.
Not many other PEV are as nimble and portable ...Yeah I'd be all cool with OW & or FM (FutureMotion) acknowledging these long term rangers : the rewards would be a fair and gift of any accessories we would be awesome & fair...Some shared data accumulated during 5 or 10K 's mileage during ownership definitely could be useful even though it seems the companies sre just getting it gor free...They might reach out and surprise a owner/rider then they'd make a video and that would be a great promo in it's self.
Call it Good will floating!
The community would likely expand & sales to support that.
Would be nice to see a fair and decent move to promote ONEWHEEL life and give a few free gift to those who actively promote and paid outta pocket to promote the float life of the ONEWHEEL as you can see it's amazing green fun.
I drive a big rig and am 280 lbs; the one wheel is how I get around when on tours in major cities. I love my GT
This was unexpectedly relaxing.
its like ASMR
I commute on mine all the time. Living in SF, my GTS is the best tool for getting my almost everywhere I want to go. Work, friends, park, out to eat, grocery shopping (throw it in the child seat of the cart), and everywhere else. Also, carving is the best way to put down longer miles with minimal foot/leg strain. Riding in a straight line without varying the strain on your muscles will fatigue them faster.
I'm on my second OneWheel.
PintX. Love it.
🎉🎉🎉🎉
This is my favorite one wheel video to date.
Thanks for the commentary! It was a nice touch.
I'll be coming back alot to this video. It's a whole mood 😂
I would love more videos of your rides and etc. I'm subscribed with the bell icon, I want more XD. Seriously though I'm picking up on this "flow state" you are speaking of :D. Got my pint x coming in 3 days and very stoked! Great video :D
Only have had the Pint X for about 7-8 days now and this thing is awesome. Every time I hop on this thing now my mood is greatly lifted. Already got the 8 Miles in a day badge hope to get more miles in each ride soon :D
How are you liking your pint x? I got the pint and regret not getting another model pint x or the one wheel xr
I remember when I was riding my pint somewhere in NYC traffic in the middle of the street because there was no bike lane and I looked to my right side, a guy with an electric skateboard loving the chaos. He was an adrenaline junkie, but I was trying to survive.😁
Super relaxing and informative video. Just pulled the trigger on a GT cause of this video. This video touches on so many points that it persuaded me to not get a eSkate, the GTS looks good but i need the range. Surprised the makers of Onewheel haven't commented on this video, 10,000 miles is crazy! Thanks for detailed video
Great video, I’ve had to break it up into smaller sections but have watched it twice. Very relaxing and great content. Watching you cruise through the city is relaxing and reminds me of floating in my home town. Now I live in a rural area and it’s all country back roads. I miss the city.
I watch these videos as i will be getting a onewheel mainly for commuting, general shopping and touring around places. I live on a 27 ft sailing boat and it will be easier to lift up from the dinghy. There is one guy who sails and commutes around on a onewheel. Seems to be very diverse terrain to travel over.
I am looking at the GT for the range its got.
Gerard on board,
SVGEMSTAR.
@@SvGemstar if you get a dry bag big enough for the board- it should be perfect! Whenever I’m visiting a remote spot and I think I’m the first one wheeler there, they’re generally is a trail on the app map starting at a marina lol
Good job! I commute on my GT as well - but not as far as you. About 3.5 miles in and 4 miles back. In the last year - I've put about 1,400 miles on it. I just upgraded my GT to the GT-S motor with the 6 inch hub. Big difference for me. I'm a bigger guy and have run out of torque in the low speed stuff a number of times - so the extra torque with the GT-S motor is big for me. I've had it for about a week now and it was worth the upgrade. I'll be in NYC in October and will be looking for you!
@@alanbell5236 interesting move. I love the GT range, what-else do you like about the GTs motor on a GT?
I wish my GT could be a daily commuter but I live 35 miles from work. But I totally would do this! Love you video!
Bring your hypercharger. That's one midway stop for a charge-up on a GT.
So stoked to get comfy with my PInt X, I just got it today and I'm also planning to use it as commute. I usually take the transit to work and back home but they're not available early on Sundays so I gotta commute 17KM to get to the Train. Usually my go-to would be my eScooter but I've gone and messed up the break and display for it. And so I got me a PINT X.
I've spent about an hour with my board so far and boy it's quite the learning curve. I've never had board experience before so you can just imagine. I'm having fun tho!
So you're commuting 17km in one go? How is it going? That's quite a distance, I'm not sure I'd be happy to commute all that distance (currently I'm a little over 2000 km, on an og pint)
Commentary is brilliant 👍🏻
In urban environments OneWheel is an easy pick for commuting, since moving to the city I've entirely quit driving and OneWheel everywhere. Nothing short of a downpour can stop me 🫡
Except the price, the price is the hard part, and also you dont have the right to repair
Soooooo.......
The bottleneck is too fkin narrow for this to become mainstream 😅
It costs the same as an ebike, but lower range, speed, and cargo capacity. But the benefit is the compactness and low maintenance, so you don’t need to lock it anywhere or get a bike rack, and it’s just easier to manage. This is only good if you’re like 5-8 miles away from your job and don’t need to carry cargo. Having an extra battery or charging spot could help with the range.
Also I imagine it’s not great for off road at least in comparison to an ebike, can’t imagine being stable on those bumps. Must be harder to handle and learn as well
@@FWS_Sinister
1) costs the same as **cheap** ebikes. The ebike id buy costs 5k, almost double
2) you are right, i carry it inside most of the time, not outside to be stolen
3) Last range test on my GT got me 30 miles, my commute is 5-8 miles one way. Plenty of juice for most cities.
4) i normally got a big backpack on which is good enough for office work or shopping. Hands free means ive carried stuff including a statue home!
5) i started riding on mountainbike trails, these things RIP off road trails. Look up Race for the Rail, its the superbowl of onewheel and is off road.
6) harder to learn? Maybe. That might be why scooters are the riskiest statistically, people get comfortable too quick and get themselves in trouble. Learning a onewheel is like learning to use a trackpad on high sensitivity, jarring at first but becomes second nature very quickly.
7) you are right, outlets are everywhere if you do need them.
8) ive actually pushed a cart full of speakers and lights 7 miles with my onewheel. Hands free means if you can push it, you can commute with it
@@AudiHere69 i am comparing it to other e-bikes at the same price range. if that range is true then it’s probably fine for most people, but an ebike can hit 20mph throttle only or 28mph with pedal assist and have the same or better range. You could carry non-backpack cargo with your hands on a onewheel, but i doubt the stability and weight distribution. Probably has more of an impact on speed and breaking than an ebike as well due to that. Plus it’s just more comfortable on an ebike when it’s made to have a rack on it, and you could carry more/heavier stuff, sometimes max loads being rated 300-400lb.
I’m not saying one is better, just pointing out differences.
@@FWS_Sinister i only mention carrying and pushing things because ive done it. I pushed 350lbs worth of boxes to fedex on a cart using a pint. Hard but doable. The speed argument seems useless cause if it was about speed id buy a motorcycle Super73XC1 is 10k and super73-z goes about 20mph according to their website and costs more than a GT and is cumbersome. I live in a city so a Onewheel checks all the boxes.
I have two traditional bikes that I have mounted on my wall and I have a bike trailer that I store in my closet already. a onewheel buddy of mine owns an eskate, a scooter and a super73 and onewheels- he uses to onewheel the most out of convenience and enjoyability. As an avid cyclist, i think onewheels are safer once you get over the physics limit, you arent tied up around a metal frame when you crash
I hardly ever comment on videos - but GREAT video. You should definitely mention that you have 10K Miles in the title! AN Absolute mental amount!
And thanks for not adding any music to the video, i just love hearing the GT and the traffic.
Onewheel ASMR is something the world needs more of! Glad you enjoyed it!
Nice! Welcome to the 10,000 mile club! 🤘

I ride EUC to commute, but I go to quite a few festivals throughout the year, so I'm looking at onewheel as an backup to my EUC as well as a simple festival get around tool. This video has been helpful in making a decision. I think it'll be easy to use as a good back up as well as a nice thing for when friends visit and want to hit the pathways
thye're a lot lighter and easier to store then a EUC
@@noma_es_sebas yep, exactly why I'm looking at one for a back up for when the EUC needs work. That and they are a lot easier to ride and have others ride.
With the small form factor there's a huge limit on capabilities that makes it not really good as a primary source to get around my town. Even the best they have doesn't have enough range to get to and from work without some range anxiety.
Love the video. I too commute to work on the one wheel. Nothing as far as you. I ride to the metro north from my house then from grand central to the city hall area. It’s about 5 miles one way. I love how I can just plop the one wheel next to me on the metro north. Takes up much less space than a bike or scooter.
I’m rewatching your video and this reminds of Slydog videos! Love it!
Paint it Black! :) The Rolling Stones. Cool vid! Love seeing riders in areas I've never been! Keep rolling! 🤘
I ride my gt to work everyday. Mine is very similar to yours I have the removable fender as well.I might get the gts. People think I’m strange at the office and they call it a little scooter. They are missing out on the good times. If you know you know. I have never ridden a skateboard and am pretty old and I decided that a Onewheel is the way to go. It is the most fun and useful item I have ever purchased.
Nothing like commuting on a Onewheel. Just like you said, you get to have fun on your way to work and arrive in a more relaxed state of mind. Took my subway commute of 45+ minutes down to 14 minutes on the OW.
Your circle of control over your commute gets so small when you get in a car or on a subway in NYC - with a Onewheel you're flying like a bird.
enjoyed the commentary on your journey. very insightful.
Very cool! As a fellow enthusiast with 4k+ miles on XR + GT - I highly recommend a Kush Wide Rear foot pad (from FloatLife) - Bang Bumpers (you clearly need them) - and a GT Performance Tire 7". I promise you would love everyone of those upgrades - I made alot more but those are THE best for the GT currently.
I got the FST system, it's the perfect upgrade for controllability and safety.
Man this was very Kool. Great commentary and Kool video Good job.
great video! You have one of the those voices that I find soothing.
I was listening with headphones and it was balanced perfectly with the onewheel sounds
Bro loved the video, I didn't think I would stay for the whole thing. 😂 This was very insightful, informative, and enjoyable. I think you've convinced me into getting a GT One wheel, so good sir thank you very much for this video and sharing/posting it. The commute really sold me, seeing how it handled everything you threw at it was very nice. Real world examples are priceless. Amazing video a big thanks from Hawaii, big fan of this video.❤
Hawaii must be an amazing place to commute with a onewheel! It's highly water resistant for the random rain too!
awesome video! ive been on the fence about getting one, im an advanced snowboarder which is what drew me in but was really unsure if i should get one for commutes or just stick to some kind of electric scooter but this has answered alot of questions for me. i really appreciate this video. thank you
Get one ! I didn’t have any experience with the Onewheel and hopped on and was able to ride easily!
Just turned over 2100 miles on my GT! Love it!
Awesome content! Subbed 😎
So basically making it to the end of the vid. The only thing that makes me kinda iffy on it. Is the wobbles. Like i basically have my rear trucks locked up. But of course it just takes alot of practice.
@@Thec0nv1ct777 as mentioned in the video, the heels on the shoes that I have are super thick which pushed my center of gravity up way higher. If you have thin skateboard shoes, then you’re locked in.
@audihere4978 yeah i where vans or like my work books. But legit, after watching the vid. Def looks like a whole vibe. God that first time ride is gona feel weird.
Pretty cool like back to the future skate board, BUT. You glazed over the EUC while mentioning trails. Suspension, 20" tire, double the acceleration and speed, no competition there.
Answer: Yes
I'm making my way up on the top ten miles on the gt 24:09 list I'm at 11 was at 9 couple days ago but yea love riding my one Wheel twice a day I ride, but yea ride safe
I can't get past 15th, Y'all ride more than me! Winters slow me down.
Awesome video!! Noticed your back bumper is out. Just putting it out there
Float on my friend🤙🤙
I'm guessing he has a stripped bolt
Yes, I'm still here. Yes, it is relaxing. Nice video!
Honestly I could watch more videos of you just going on a cruise like this and narrating over it, was rather entertaining and even relaxing to watch
Good video and you have a great TH-cam commentary voice. ZA1 racing, Fooster, Noodle, etc. Ride around NY and vlog or voice over. Have fun, stay safe
As someone who is going to college next year, I would love a Onewheel and I loved this format of video and it really put me over the edge on getting one. I’m trying to convince my mom to get one for me but she insists on an E-Bike even though my sister got hers stolen. I love the idea of a Pint S since I want to do some trail stuff. :)
For real, the information in this video is comprehensive and its delivery is a vibe!
Update: I pulled the trigger on a Pint S over the Black Friday sale and I love it! I’ve had the board for about 2 weeks and I’ve put over 200 miles on it. I’ve been getting more used to trails and it’s awesome
Man this is such a great video. I recently got into e-skating but you have really sold me on this. The impracticalities of e-skating can be turn circle but I'm sure I will improve, but there's no shot we could ever hope for the ability to confidently dip and weave like you can on a one-wheel (and as I type this you literally say the exact same thing in not so many words). So many options, all such fun and practical.
For me, the main reason for getting one is for commuting. If i had a long smooth path or a manicured mountain bike trail then I’m sure an eskate would be just as fun if not more. But from a practicality standpoint, Onewheel is the most convenient electric on the market.
Getting my GT tomorrow. I thought they looked fun and as a snowskater I figured it'd be plug and play so I ordered one. I had some doubts if it'd be worth it getting one after ordering it, but after watching this, there is NO DOUBT in my mind that all I'll want to do is ride it.
This board is ruining my life. All I want to do is ride. All I can think about is riding. Help.
@@metalsage5135The addition never ends… been riding a few years and still love it.
@@metalsage5135I’m thinking of getting one. How do you like it so far?
@@metalsage5135 how's it going
@metalsage5135 Call a doctor if you're stoked longer than 4 hours after riding onewheel
I'm 30 minutes into this video and am very impressed with your endurance! I've been riding my Pint X for about 3 months and have been working on doing longer sessions so I can commute with it. Do you have any tips for building leg & foot endurance while riding? I tend to get shaky legs and lose a lot of stability in my feet after riding for about 20ish minutes paved, generally carving at about 13-15mph. I find that carving helps relieve some of the fatigue for me, but from what I can tell in your riding, it's mostly a straight shot with very little carving.
Dude, this video is so chill! Make more videos!
I used to commute on my wheel, unfortunately I don't anymore since it is not legal in my country (Netherlands) and already got some fines..
Those pair of Hoka(what style?) must be the comfiest ow shoes for your daily 8 mile commute!!
@@Tatad3 they are too wobbly cause the soles are so thick
@@AudiHere69 thank god for confirming I hate wearing my running shoes when riding and almost all the times I’ve ate it or had the wobbles was because I had all that extra foam padding because they’re meant for running not riding boards 😆.

Cool video, watched it all the way through, I bought my onewheel with the intention of taking the train into London then using the onewheel GT to travel the 5 miles to work.
Sadly all electric boards are now banned from trains with all electric boards and higher powered bikes being technically illegal in the UK.
I bought myself an electric brompton which gets the job done but just isn't much fun as the Onewheel.
what a bummer! We in the states have been having discussions about the E-community and how we act to avoid these blanket bans. Part of why Future Motion builds their boards the way they do, to follow all laws in the USA.
that's a good one!
10k miles is INSANE 🔥🔥🔥💯🚀🚀🚀🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾
My goodness
You’d be surprised how quick the miles add up riding everyday multiple times a day. I’m probably 20k miles plus in at this point and am on my 8th Onewheel now. I’ve practically given away the boards that I’ve sold just to get other people on them. Love the boards, the sport and the community for the most part. Freedom!
@@Sakufighter exactly! 14miles a day (minimum) isn't that much, not even a full charge for a GT. 10,000/14= 714.29 days = 1.96 years. Which isn't too far off. If you rode 20 miles a day only every Saturday / Sunday would take you 5 years. Future Motion tends to release a new board every 2-3 years
Fix your rear bumper, and you could really benefit from getting some skate shoes like Vans or Ernie’s or something.
Fine I'll buy one again already
In all seriousness though - well done. This video made me miss my board like nothing else really has.
Awesome! Great video. Thanks
Awesome video 🔥 and everything well explained, I'm new to my GT here in the UK (150 miles now) and at 46 years old its been a learning curve as never had one before but I love it, can I just say your rear bumper is giving me anxiety tho 😂 given you a sub 👍
Where are you located? I used to ride a onewheel plus but stopped because police started cracking down on all emobility. I’m in London. I wish the UK would embrace personal electric transport rather than criminalise it.
@@zaydsharif5504 I'm in East Yorkshire, Not been stopped yet but I tend to ride really early in the morning along the seafronts or around the city so when no one is around. The advice the police have is to tell you to take it home as a first step apparently in the UK, but I know people have been pulled up on them. Saying that I see no end of electric scooters flying around Hull during the day and on the road and not seen anyone stopped as yet.
@@Exmilkman Thanks for the sub! These things are a blast. They make a backpack too! Dip around the corner then bag it up 😅

I like these true use case reviews. Honestly. If i saw this, i prob woukd of went for a gt. Bur i went for tje Mboards Endurance first. Pretty good. About 40 miles range wirh at wheels and like 70 wirh atteet wheels.
Anythings better than a car in NYC. Just enjoy what you got!
@audihere4978 very true. Seeinf this review. Reallt does make me wanna try but alot tend to say not to do it becuase the whole. Board tossing you off in some case.
@@Thec0nv1ct777 i got tossed on my OG pint years ago…. Cause i was pushing it and going 23.5mph when its rated for 16 before pushback. With my GT all my crashes were related to hitting something & mostly on mtb trails. If youre a speed demon the physics of onewheeling are not for you. Even EUCs cutout, youre just going way faster when it does
@audihere4978 thanks this is super insightful. Since you have a ton of time on the board. I remmebrr buying my mboards endurance and it was rated to go 36+mph with like 40-70 miles of range. Depending on rider style and wheels. I only hit that speed once. So going at least 15-20mph doesnt seem that bad.
How customizable is the gt with the app?
that rear bumper is driving my adhd crazy!
my OCD on high alert the whole video xD
I saw at the beginning of the video you drop off several curbs. On the way home do you do bonks and curb nudges to go back the other way, or take a different route, or find a place where there is no curb? That is the one thing I find on my commute I have to negotiate, as I still suck at curb nudges and it gets me right out of the flow state.
On the way to work I take the easy route, on the way back i'm willing to nudge and bonk. There are also so many route options from smooth asphalt to mtb trails.
@ Thanks for the reply. It’s cool you have some options. But yeah maybe I just need to swallow my pride and put the work in to figure out how to nudge consistently. It’s always a bit scary to consider when I’m carrying a $3000 laptop on my back to and from the office 😆
Hey Great Video! Of your ride. I recently bought a “pint” from someone and they told me that it hasn’t been ridden for about a year… unfortunately when I got home and charged it…it did not turn on…not a good experience for me as a newbie in the “one wheel” world. I was told if I charge it straight for 48 hrs, it may balance back the cell that is not low. What’s your take on this . Any advice is appreciated 👍🙏
@@kenengimaging I would probably tell you the same thing, I’ll leave it on charge for 48 hours or maybe a tad longer. Generally the issue is one of the battery cells in the pack either fills up before the others or sag and stays low so it can’t turn on.
I’m sure there are some third-party apps that let you see the exact voltage of every cell in the pack. You could submit a diagnostics report through the future motion app and see what they have to say.
In my opinion, it’s to buy new, but if you’re in the New York City area, I have a ChiBatterySystems Quart battery pack. I could sell you on the cheap. Assuming its just the pack thats bad- plenty of options and videos explaining how to swap them
id still rather commute with EUC, pretty impressive though to make it to 10k on a PEV regardless of the style.
🔋
Hey man. Really like the video. Great content. I know you are hesitant to get a GTS but it is SO amazing. I have 2 GT and 1 GTS and the s series is so much more powerful and fun. I think that you should definitely take another look especially after the price drop. Looks like you ride the lowboys and the stock slick tire. The s series is pretty great right out of the box. Also btw I normally get less than 20 mi on my GT.
Also I saw your thick soled Hoka shoes. I do not like riding with thick shoes and be lifted off the board. I like shoes that keep me closer to the board. What’s your opinion?
Juice is worth the squeeze?
Great video and 10k is a lot, have you replaced the tire at all or the battery? Sorry if already mentioned but could not watch h the whole video. Thanks
Its long because I'm lazy and wanted to do a single take, 12:46 I talk about the main repair I had to get at about 9,000 miles. I replace my tire once they they can't hold air anymore which is about 3-5,000 miles depending on how low my PSI. You can get max life out of a tire by first riding it with high PSI (25-30) to wear out the middle then going low to wear out. future Motion states 20psi as the optimum balance for rider experience and tire longevity. (I think I mentioned it in the vide) but a lot of people swap their tires right away for some reason, so I scoop up stock slick tires for cheap or free. My last tire was $20.
Great video, some really good points but ngl it felt a little sus how this man kept talking up FM and how stock his GT is lol. I went from an XR to the GT tho I waited a long time because of the ghosting issue but once FM made the decision to sell parts (main one being battery) I pulled the trigger and am liking it a lot, i haven’t updated yet to haptic buzz but I might after seeing it in real world use.
@@loui828 what’s sus about leaving it stock and maximizing my investment vs adding on? Rails and a lot of these 3rd party accessories are expensive. I kept saying stock to make sure people realize that the upfront cost isn’t bad cause you don’t need to add anything. The stock slick is the best IMO. I skipped the XR
QUESTION: does riding often workout the midframe and legs somewhat, in that one must tuck, brace pr balance at times or much of the time? Please give your thoughts on that aspect.
My legs have gotten wider. It does work out weird ancillary muscles in the leg, ankle and knee. I will say my balance is 5x better and when I play tennis my steps are way more "rooted".
Bruh, you need to replace your rear bumper. It's all good 😂 l love u.
New to the one wheel, dont have one..
Just curious when you compared the commute to a bike and how sometimes the tire blow up, it sounds like the one wheel doesnt get punctures..
are the wheels filled with air? or is it foam?
Its a tubeless air filled tire that is filled with "slime" that auto seals punctures. Out of all my onewheels (17k+ total miles ridden) I've only had one hole that left me stranded. Was a metal fence someone broke and left a metal spike in the ground that I did not see. I honestly think a Onewheel is safer than a bike
I see, quite similar to mountain bikes
Cool video, dude!.
Fake ya you can is the answer. It can do it all dependent on skill. I’ve picked up 80lbs bags of dogfood plus groceries with this thing and anything you can think of. I don’t have a vehicle, because I have a Onewheel.
Mentioning 10k miles in the title might be good. Thanks for the video. Curious how you feel about riding regular footed in the city. I’m regular footed too but do you find we are at a disadvantage over goofy footed riders who can face traffic as opposed to the curb?
Being from the UK and riding goofy I have the same issue, kinda puts me off riding on roads.
@@stuartbailey1632 I'm confused how switching affects anything? The direction you're facing? This is the only way I ride.
Nice video... I commute to work daily too not as far but I save so much $$ on gas, I only have 800 miles on my GT so far hope to get to 8000 someday 😀
9/10 times me and my wife are stopped on a ride and someone talks to us its about my euc 😅 never my wifes onewheel. To average every day people the euc is more interesting.
did I say EUC's weren't interesting? I said people think Onewheels are COOLER. Your comment seems to conflate "interesting" with being "better" or "superior". In reality the attention the EUC receives is because they are more unusual or goofy. People generally "Get" the concept of a Onewheel, EUC's are just.....interesting.
Watched the entire video. It's very soothing. How heavy is the GT?
33lbs
Are those speed wobbles?
What a fantastic view, of course i watch to the end (i already done)! Good work and greetings from germany!🙂👍
This motivated me to start commuting again. It’s 17 miles each way but about to move closer and be 6 miles each way! What is your PSI and weight if you don’t mind me asking?
Also curious what your first impressions/from what you’ve see of the XR-Classic model? Gonna get it or it doesn’t have enough range like the GT.
Also is that a Insta360 cam?
@@OnewheelAsh Its a GoPro 11 I had kicking around, I'd stick to the GT if you're a commuter, it's got the most range! I love my pint but nothing beats not having to worry about range and 17 mile commute would be cutting it close if you live where it gets cold.
I live in small town NE about a mile from work, bought a pint x back in May to use to commute instead of putting those short miles on my car. It's such a good choice for shorter commutes or running small errands especially while the weather is nice. Unfortunately now that winter has hit, I can't ride it very safely but definitely beats tryna find parking on busy days or fighting traffic. It's such freeing experience and I love the reactions I get from kids. Can't wait for the weather to warm up a bit more and I can get back to riding (I just wish there were more trails out here XD)
I could never live somewhere that it takes 45mins to drive a car 8-9 miles.
My city need 30min for 4-5km even on a motorcycle
@@Kimkim-gl6qc crazy to say i consistently beat Ferraris when commuting through Manhattan. They get locked up in the traffic!
Man I salute you for driving that one wheel like that in NEW YORK CITY!!! You are definitely a pro
How far can you go in Winter foWhat is the range in winter?
Not really an issue unless its below 20 degrees in freedom units
I'm really surprised how much gt does speed wobbles on your ride. That looks really sketchy. Great job with mileage, but that wobble looks something that i would do to it before going over one trip. Most likely you can do the tuning and take out all the turning assists. That wobble most likely is because of fm has done assisting features into firmware, that every time you roll the board, it decelerates. And with custom tuning you can make it less prone to decelerate, that way it will be going like on rails.
as mentioned in the video its only wobbly because of the shoes i'm wearing have an excessive amount of cushion. skate shoes are better.
How many miles do you get on the tires? What do you think of the enduro tire, would you consider getting one of those next?
He stated in the video about 3/4th of the way through that each tires lasts ~2000 miles
@@xxdarkestspawnxx3677 someone needs to make a timestamp comment for all these questions!
@andrekelma5522 yea, but I didn't even look at the comments until I had already watched the whole video and was not gonna go all the way back through to find it again.
can it goes up an 20% hill?
I have a 1/10 of the miles you do, and I can't ride Hoka shoes, as I feel like I lack board feel. Do you find they have prevent feet ache compared to Vans for long rides?
@@Thyhack. i love my vans high tops or my Lakai low tops for trail riding. Purely wearing hokas cause im running around all day at work. Was commuting to / from a spot i was working that day. They are wobbly for sure. I put gel soles in my vans and youre good to go
I actually finished the video. Thanks! I actually don't feel like that was a waste of time. Maybe the longest youtube video I've ever watched beginning to end. Kinda wish it had a better ending though. haha. Still all good.
"Maybe the longest youtube video I've ever watched beginning to end" that means a lot! It was longer but I ended it at my front door - and didn't realize the privacy issue until I was editing it......... Good notes!
@@AudiHere69 Oh yeah, your front door may not be a good place to end, but maybe at a street corner or grabbing a cup of coffee or something. Thanks again for the valuable info.
I do. So the answer is yes.
Those shoes must be super comfortable to ride in!
Anything other than a flat sole shoe scares me on the Onewheel. I have to feel one with the board.
🤯🔥🔥🔥
This is the best onewheel video I’ve ever watched. So much good commentary in here. One thing I’ll say is starting on grass is good and bad. Good for soft ground if you fall, but bad because easy to fall due to not being smooth and flat. I fell twice on grass and zero on pavement so far. Those roads you’re on scare me due to all those bumps. Any tips on how to get better or more confident learning how to go over that terrain?
Police ever mess with you goin thru red lights?
@@freightshayker no. i’ve gotten tickets for doing it on a bike. 🤷♂️ i like to think i’m cautious, been cycling here for about 10 years and the city has a flow. I care more about not hitting people / being hit than a red light trap. They are more focused on e-motorcycles and over powered scooters
whats up with your rear bumper? strip out your screws or something?
