Have you done the rear seat mod so you can fold ya seat top half down? Makes alot more room when overlanding. could even make a mount that then goes in to put ya fridge etc in when needed.
I haven’t - been thinking about it - but with the car seat in the back I can’t fold them down anyway (without removing it). Would make it easier to swap between a “trip vehicle” and “family vehicle” though eh!
Nice I've also been looking at doing this just around the feet and gearbox coz the om602 is a loud engine and long journeys ain't fun. 10db is a decent drop, 80db has a power ratio of 100000000 while 70db has a powere of 10000000, think of it like a earthquake scale every number up or down is a massive jump in power
I’m seriously thinking of doing the same too - everyone rates that area super highly on their “todo” list. And every little bit to make long drives easier helps! True true! Very good to know! Cheers for the explanation!
Sold my discovery 4 and got a hilux. Holy moly the hilux is a noisy bugger. Definately going to have to strip the interior and do this mod, it’s unbearable on a long distance overlanding trip
It’s crazy how much extra noise things like that add eh! The bullbar was the one the surprised me the most - didn’t expect it to make noise - but you can hear it in certain winds and stuff
Hi Ben. Yes you can hear a definite improvement in less sound. Thanks for sharing.
The roof made the biggest difference in my 79. I’ve done the whole cab and doors and it made a massive difference.
The roof eh - that’s good to know! Might have to have a look at putting some up there too. I can imagine eh - nice to know it’s worth it!
Drives me nuts with the roof noise that my rtt produces on my hilux. Definitely something to ponder in regards to deadening

Shit didn't realize you're a welly local! Good on you bro
toyota problems alright. my 76 series sounds as though you’re in a catagory 5 hurricane inside.
Imagine that they spent a few more dollars and added some proper sound proofing 😂

Very nice ! I have more road noise with all the modifications, snorkel, lights, bull bar, etc.
