This tutorial has been a life saver! Thanks! I’m just making my first Adeline Dress from Minerva’s cotton sateen fabric in royal blue for my test garment and have the most beautiful floral linen viscose blend fabric from Minerva lined up for my eventual dress.
Loved this close up video. I learnt about 5 new things in the section round the neckline. But ohhh the jeopardy of snipping close to the stitching line to make the V lie flat. 😅
Fantastic sew along have you done other sew alongs with style Arc patterns as I’m new to these patterns and plenty of encouragement to cut into my fabric TIA
Hi Robyn, We are so glad you enjoyed the video! We have plenty of Style Arc sewalongs on our page, you can see all our sewalongs here th-cam.com/play/PLlIwtAy1pUoRafNRwoLHnbXTmuRSTFS0i.html
Thank you very much for such a thorough tutorial. I felt like I was in a physical class, so informative and detailed … especially being new to sewing. Just wish that there was a portion to show the pattern layout, I struggle with that…. and what stitch you use on the overlocker . I just ordered this pattern, and feel somewhat confident that I can sew my first dress. Of course I will watch the tutorial again. 🤩👍
Hi Kate, thanks so much for this excellent tutorial. Your dress looks great. Can you please tell me what size you cut out? I know it’s meant to be oversized, but I don’t want to be swamped!
Just been watching the tutorial by Kate sewing the Adeline dress. Gathering my fabric and notions together. Could someone advise me on the variegated thread to use on my overlocking machine.
Hi Catherine, We recommend you taper in the midsection around the pocket line - We would advise you check and match the line from the shoulder to the bottom hem however to ensure you keep the taper if you are removing length from the midsection around the waist 😀
It's really not a question of clipping a curved edge "if you want to", it's essential otherwise the facing will not lay flat when you turn it to the right side.
If you look on Minerva they have kits for this pattern and that comes with the interfacing. I assume she used the one that came with the kit. I hope this helps!
I kept wanting to see all the beautiful garments hanging. Beautiful dress. Nicely styled.
Thank you so much 😊
The best sew along I have watched by far. I have learnt more watching this one than I have watching all of the others combined. Thank you. Sharon

I have this pattern but I feel it will be too long for my height. Where would be the best place to shorten it do you think?

What machine are you using?

If Style Arc Kendall pattern recommends Jell Tape…..what do I look for jn UK
Could I make this as a tunic?
What interfacing did you use?

Does everyone have a serger, overlocked? I don’t…suggestions?
If you don't have a serger or overlocker you can finish your seams using a zigzag stitch
What type of l

What type of li
Nen are you using.
What type of linen did you use?
Hi Marie, the linen used was www.minerva.com/mp/1193826/minerva-core-range-enzyme-washed-100-linen-fabric-denim&variant=1233862
Only showing a waist up view was disappointing. It would have been helpful to see the garment completed.
Thank you for your comment, we will keep that in mind!
