It would be really cool to compare the Osram W1 to the Luminus SBT90.2
Nice set of lights to compare. I know the "fairness" of W1/W2 in the KR1 vs the C8+ can be debated but I think I prefer what the W2 brings in terms of output over the larger hotspot if you're gonna get a KR1. Whenever I get around to it, that'll be my choice...
Interesting notes with the SST20, too. I hadn't put much consideration into what one can make out at a distance - the CRI isn't bringing a heck of a lot to the table at that point so you may as well focus on maximum range.
And one other thing I think at least worth a cursory mention, probably over any concerns about UI even, is the fact that the KR1 is quite the looker compared to the C8+... Not that it REALLY matters, but it certainly is nice.
That 219b sw45k is so, so nice! Nice output for a single emitter in such a small light.
I love the KR1 because you can pick one up for $40! And Hank is cool dude so I never feel guilty giving him all my money xD
Great vid. Just ordered a KR1 with the W1 and was good to see a somewhat relevant comparison.
This would look almost like how this c8+ w1 looks in this video. Same emitter and similar size reflectors. Maybe the kr1 w1 having a bit of a larger hotspot against the c8+ w1 but not by much.
I dont see anything relevant in this comparison whatsoever. It is two different lights with 2 different emitters. This is like comparing a Ford f150 to a Nissan maximum. What is there to compare? Why would you compare them? I don't believe anyone asked him for this comparison. Why would they?
@@zampination the c8+ w1 has at least twice the candela of a kr1 w1.

Nice video. Which is the best emmiter for EDCing a KR1? I think w2 and w1 aren’t really usable, they’re more for fun.
Something a lot lot less throwy. Tactical Grizzly has a review of a KR1 with a GT FC 40, I think. That looked a lot more practical.

I have compared sst20 in both c8+ and kr1, kr1 spot is a bit larger
Both C8+ are doing a great job, although for range, the W1 is clearly the best. I have that exact same SST-20 in a S2+ with short tube, and it does a pretty good job in lighting things up to 60 metres below 100% - and being warm and with high CRI for up-close.
sst20 3amps driver?
It was the driver Simon sent with the C8 (I didn’t mod it). I don’t know which driver he used, but I know SST-20s can take more than 3A.

Warner light won't throw as far but cuts through air particles/rain fog etc better. I'm sure you're aware but maybe others aren't. I like your channel and your raspy voice lol ✌️
