In that series, the ARG takes place in a reality identical to our own, with one change; that being the Interloper context, the command, the demos, et cetera. It's still Half Life, it's still the Source Engine. It's media that exists in our world, being used to tell the story of another. This video series fits the description. I've been writing this while listening to the video, and you bring up the point I'm making at the end, but I will continue. The second component is "Game," and that's where this video series fails to be an ARG. "Game" requires interactivity, it requires the audience to do something, the core feature of a game is the audience being a driver of the narrative. This is not the case here. There are no (meaningful) hidden messages, nothing for the audience to do between uploads, no tangible way to affect the story. It's not a game. Compared to Interloper, again, in that the audience has a role. They can scour the internet for hidden uploads, like the "Misty" demo, they can pick apart files like cstrike and fortress, Anomidae specifically has a channel in his discord dedicated to giving suggestions for the investigation, which have been used by the characters when investigating. Without a "Game" to make an ARG, all you have is a Source (or other medium) Horror series. (These, of course, can be done exceptionally well. But this does not work if you're pretending that there's a mystery to be solved.)

Theres a cool Gmod ARG called "The survival of all" and its one really unique gmod ARG out there and a love leter to a old gmod movie "war of the servers" and its still going. I recomand you checking it out.

Great video but I would recommend that you slow down a bit and speak a little more clearly. Sometimes it feels like you try to say what you want as quickly as you can to get to the next thing. I don't know if others have that problem but that is just what I think. Besides that i enjoyed the video
