Great question Bruce and one that we should have addressed in the video! Of course there will always be situations when an RTK Mobile station is your best solution, such as remote locations where there are no Mount points close by or no internet available, this information is mainly for operators who may be starting out and can't afford the heavy investments that come with this kind of equipment 👍
If you can afford it we'd still recommend one so you're prepared for any operational scenario, especially in more remote locations where mount points and internet coverage are unreliable 👍
Of course! Although we were mainly meaning connection strength, as generally that's not an issue with NTRIP as long as you have a solid data connection, plus it's always best practice to use GCP to ensure data accuracy regardless of using a base station or NTRIP connections 👍
Best you can expect with propagating manufacturer RTK performance, distance to Base and base Pu is 30mm/50mm for H and V. That is to ellipsoid height not AHD, Geoid corrections are required for AHD, and this adds a further 60mm of uncertainty to propogate.
and if there is no internet?

@@UAVISUALS I travel with my Starlink system .. not cheap or free, but less expensive than the fulll RTK kit
PPK
Great video once again guys. Great cost saving for small operators
Great content!
Great information. Thank you, you are doing great work in building the capasity in the industry. Live long and prosper...
Very valuable, thank you so much for sharing!
*yeets base station* 😂 Awesome cost saving advice guys!
Absolute legends! was legit about purchase at RTK station for my Inspire, not anymore!

can we use a south galaxy 1 as a base station to coonect with dji phantom 4 rtk?
Even with NTRIP distance from mount point is an issue if you want to keep a good accuracy 😉
