Good sword and shield cards are likely to get a price jump after they reach the 2 year since release period. Sword and Shield was an Iconic period in the hobby.❤️🔥
Two things to take away from a collecting standpoint.
Evolving Skies isn’t getting a reprint.
2.) Lost Origin will be similar prices to Evolving Skies in 3-5 years.

I love the Lugia V Alt. Art! It was my chase card when I saw it, and picked it up one day at my local card shop. I think the art is cool, but also it’s freaking LUGIA!

It’s nuts! I picked one up by trading in some cards for credit and got it for around $90 out of pocket. It was selling for $280 a couple weeks ago and now it’s over 330. I wonder why some of these cards are hitting these price jumps.

I was so blessed and pulled my umbreon vmax from a single pack in a tin. What made it extra crazy was it was wrong color code card

Bought a copy of it over a year ago for $250 thinking I paid too much for it. Boy am I glad I pulled the trigger then 😅
I never could pull the Moonbreon, so I decided to pick up a PSA 10, no regrets.
SAME. Green code card and all 😂. I pulled mine from one of those 3 pack tins at drug stores about 2 months ago and it was actually centered and in great condition.
It was the only time I wasn't super careful opening packs too 💀 had pizza grease on my fingers and everything 😂

I don’t really like the Umbreon VMax that much, I think the Celebi V alt art is waaaayyy cooler for like 10% of the value!
I like the V alt art better than the Vmax

Lugia V climbed because it just made sense for it to jump next... it was a alt art that was lagging behind all the other price hikes. I know you were joking.
I don't understand these insane price jumps personally. I won't be picking up any of these cards I don't see how it's possible that they maintain this new price floor personally. If they do maintain I'll just never own them there are SO many cards available to you at that $200 mark...not a ultra ultra modern alt art that just flew threw the ceiling in price.
It's always nice to see your personal collection growing in value. I have every Eeveeloution Vmax alt art displayed in my little museum. I will always feel grateful to have all of them together, even if I didn't pull all of them myself!
I got into the TCG recently after it became available on smart phones; I am loving it! Now I look at cards so differently and I value more cards that have better abilities and attacks. I can see this being the next nostalgia. A powerful deck.

This is entirely your fault. Most of these could have been bought at less than half price. Stop blaming anyone / thing other than yourself
I pulled a Medicham V alt art out of my ES booster box at release 😡😡 Luckily I decided to keep the second booster box sealed!
Funny thing is when I decided to finally try to finish the alt arts price spiked lol. Sold one of my Sylveon vmax alt art for $125 and traded for an Espeon Vmax alt art, then that same week and onwards everything literally jumped. Now it's way over my budget so I don't think I'll ever finish it, need 11 more cards at $1900 to finish the set yikes.

Solid advice, no need to chase just buy the next best sets closest to retail price. I went for Brilliant Stars and Astral Radiance on the Pokémon Center last week instead.
Crown Zenith has the best artworks and legendaries as a whole. The set is stacked. And extremely fun to open.

How much do you think Lost Origin booster boxes will be worth in 5-10 years? That Giratina card is a really big and expensive chase card so the set should do pretty well, right?

I started collecting these before they started jumping so high. I still need 14 more but only the giratina is super expensive of all the ones I still need.
Bought PSA 9 espeon vmax for $120 back in September. $270 for psa 9 Giratina and $205 for BGS 9 Gengar vmax.. taking profits now and rerolled into psa 10s Japanese alts
Umbreon V Alt Art from evo skies is around $180 near mint nowwas like $90 a few months back 😮, also celebi v alt art from Fusion is back up to $40. Was like $25 a few months ago. Glad I have 2 evo skies etbs( the set, 1 of each artwork goes for like $200 together), and a Lost Origin booster box sealed 😅
DUDE the Lugia has better art then like anything else. He's In the eye of a storm while a fisherman is shocked looking at what he's saying the moonbreon is amazing but the art is no where near lugias
Are you going to bring up the Moonbreon Chinese version as an investment currently less than half the price of English version 😊

Got lucky and got a dragonite v alt art from a local store that still had it for 99$ like 2 days after it jumped up to +150$. Always liked that card but i needed that excuse to finally buy it haha
Insane. I thought I bought my Umbreon Vmax alt art at peak popularity in a PSA 10 for $810, but instead I basically saved $400-$500 🤯

i remember wanting that dragonite from evolving skies ever since it came out it was the one card from the set that i wanted most and just never got around to buying it at 80 dollars now its literally double that and i want it more than ever
I love alt arts, I've collected them since team up came out. But VMAXs just dont hit for me. I have every V I can get my hands on, but I ignore the VMAXs.
The red clouds definitely don’t add anything. If anything they remove some of the immersion of the art

Pokemon center has trash customer service. I ordered a Lost Origin booster box case but there was one layer of cover and one end of the box was damaged. Pokemon Center said they can’t do anything to help the situation… soooo buy on your own risk because the package could literally be bombed on the way and it’s sellers fault LOL
The I dont care about the art line made me laugh.
I regret I didn’t get any fusion strike bb. I was one of the ones not excited about it and severely underestimated the popularity of gengar card. But I was also just getting into the hobby. Live and learn.

Hey y’all, I’m just getting back into collecting this last month or so. I’ve been buying pretty much every Pokémon thing I can set my eyes on. From generations evolutions 151 all the new stuff and of course I’ve grabbed a pile of vintage packs. But the biggest thing alluding me is to catch up on all of this and find out what the good cards are and what I should be looking for in these newest sets. I’m looking for a Pokémon guru to teach me the ways. I’m so lost with all this new stuff.

Hey how often do Japanese sets get reprinted? How often was eevee heroes and v star universe printed? How many print runs for those? Does anyone think 151 will get another reprint at the end of this year?

Fusion strike is a bad set with a few good cards. Buy the ones you want and forget about the set. Don't open one more pack a d sell them to the crazies that want to buy them down the road for way too much money

Evolving skies was the one set I didn’t go crazy with. And bought only single sleeved boosters. I’ve gotten a dragonite v alt art. 1 moonbreon. And alt art espeon v 🔥
I opened 3x 3pack blisters and 1 booster box. Got Moonbreaon Vmax alt, Espeon V alt, Leafeon V alt, Sylveon Vmax alt and Golurk V alt. Also got 5 booster boxes which I bought for less than a 100 a piece.
Glad I hit my second Lugia! Those Sams heavy hitters boxes keep me happy.

Lost Origin is definitely overhyped. People investing in it because they want the next Evolving Skies, but if you look at the difference in the set cards Lost Origin isn't even close
It doesn’t matter when you have a card as iconic, desirable, rare and beloved as giratina. On top of the set being competitive relevant, there isn’t a chance in hell it doesn’t erupt in price when it sells out, especially if fusion strike did so. I don’t even think LO is great by any means, but it’s obvious how popular and big this set is gonna be
We should be thankful that we have cards like Umbreon Vmax that keeps those insane prices because it actually makes it worth it to open boxes and packs. People who think that everything should be cheap and worth nothing have no idea what they're talking about and are simply spoiled brats. We already see how having cheap cards affect the pack opening experience since most of the SV sets have really cheap chase cards and nobody wants to open them. Cards like those expensive alt arts from SM or SS era are really what keeps this hobby alive.
