    Great! Thank-you. You've done this using Cycles. Can Eevee make the lighting with the plane with an emission shader work? Have tried but nothing happens.

    • @RyanKingArt
      @RyanKingArt  4 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Thanks for the comment! Yeah, object emissions don't work for lighting a scene in Eevee. I'f you'd like to do this tutorial in Eevee, your going to have to use actual Lights in Blender. Hope you enjoyed the tutorial!

    Another great tutorial.. I’m working my way through your back catalog. I made my own ‘one ring’ in Maya once.. turned out it was way back in 2001 at the t8me of the first movie! - I think the writing in your video is upside down? - also, in the books the writing is described as being both outside and inside of the ring…

    Im a beginner and I encountered a problem When I add a second plane which you used for emmeting; me it emits itself; other object like the ring and the other plane below are not being affected by light even if i increrase the strenght

    Good tutorial as always. What do you prefer when you work with small objects. Is it better to work with bigger ring like 1m radius and scale it down later or start immediately with the correct sizes, like a 1cm radius? Thank you.

    • @RyanKingArt
      @RyanKingArt  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I usually just model it however I want, and don't really take the scale into consideration. But Blender can show you the real world size of objects, if you'd like to model to scale. either way works.

    Awesome video...
    So I tried applying the same principle to another image, and after unwrapping it, it was flipped like a mirror image on the ring, and there was so many of that image on the ring.
    How do I fix that?

    Hi, it's such a helpful tutorial, but I need to ask a little question, where is the box mask node?I can't find it😨

    • @RyanKingArt
      @RyanKingArt  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks for watching the tutorial. Are you in the compositor? The box mask is only in the compositor, not in the material nodes.
      Also, are you using an older version of Blender? if your using an older version, then it might not be there.

    • @perseusp.j8603
      @perseusp.j8603 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@RyanKingArt Yes, I'm in the compositor and my version is 2.92. But my language setting is chinese, so I literally selected all the input node to see which one is it, but nothing came out as mask box. However, thank you for replying my question !

    • @RyanKingArt

    Hi, I'm just wondering if the elvish text file you provided is copyright free? I'm just wondering since I used it on a project and was considering using my final render as part of an assessments for school. And also I'm just wondering if the text is accurate to the ring in the movie? Thanks in advance, and great tutorial 👍👍

    • @RyanKingArt
      @RyanKingArt  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hello Edward. Glad you enjoyed the tutorial. Sadly, The elvish writing texture is copyrighted. I just found it on some random website, changed it slightly to work for the tutorial, and re-uploaded it on my site. So I didn't really create it myself.
      I'm pretty sure its accurate to the movie though.
      Let me know if you have any more questions.

      Just delete the current HDRI, and then click on Open. Then locate to the new HDRI, and select it. It should add in the new HDRI.
