Once Upon A Time In The West is the best spaghetti western by a wide margin. There are some flawed scenes, but the story itself, the musical score, the way that Leone filmed the big scenes, the climactic showdown and the mystery revealed put it way above all the others.
The Good, The Bad And The Ugly is probably the best spaghetti western, truly ultimate for the genre, but in total Once Upon A Time In The West is a better film, one of the best ever made. I give them both top score but wish I had an extra point or two for Sergio Leone's absolute masterpiece.
My Top 5 Westerns (including Spaghetti): 1 Once upon a time in the West. 2. For a Few Dollars More (Lee Van Cleef steals the show). 3. Tombstone (needed a Ennio soundtrack VAL KILMER) 4. The Wild Bunch (not sure if this is spaghetti), 5. Fist Full of Dollars. I have Good Bad & Ugly in my top 10 but not in my top 5.
My top ten would be... 1 Once Upon a Time in the West 2 The Good The Bad and the Ugly 3 For a Few Dollars More 4 The Great Silence 5 Django 6 A Bullet for a President 7 A Professional Gun 8 Stranger's Gundown 9 Forgotten Pistelero 10 Fistful of Dollars
My name is noboy is probably my favorit, but it definatly isn't the best SW. The story is just so funny and Hill is hilarious, so hilarious you can feel Fonda smiling. And then Fonda as the serious guy who doesn't know what to do with this clown. I can't help but smiling when i think of that movie. But yeah, when it comes to quality, it doesn't come close to your top 2. And i think Good/Bad/Ugly deserves 1st spot. The POW camp, the bridge part, it is so anti war and made me think of so many things. I didn't know when i first watched it when i was a teenager, but later on when i got the long version it did influence the way i look at war. And ofcourse the Bud Spencer and Terrence Hill ones, i watched them so often in German as i lived close enough to the German border to recieve some of their tv stations. They so often had their movies on and the westerns were my favorits. Not a great story, just rediculous and oh so funny. Well deserved top 10.
I have a copy of My Name Is Nobody, but I still watch it when it shows up on TV. It beats any 2018-21 Netflix "Original." Fonda and Hill are great in it. Thanks for your comments.
Franco is always great. Keoma was good but terrible voice dub choices on the English version and an annoying theme song dropped it down the list. Mr. Strode was great as usual. I admit I have not seen a full version of Adios Texas. I had a terrible DVD copy that was unwatchable so I can't comment on it's merits. Thanks for your choices.
Non of these that you have mentioned deserve to be in top 10 greatest spaghetti westerns of all time there are many greater westerns than those you have mentioned
Ones that could've been in there: A Pistol For Ringo (1965) The Return Of Ringo (1965) Navajo Joe (1966) The Hellbenders (1967) The Big Gundown (1967) Face To Face (1967) Day Of Anger (1967) Run Man Run (1968) Some underrated ones: If You Live, Shoot (1967) Four Of The Apocalypse (1975) To many to pick from lol Edit: didn't saw the honorable mentions
I think Compañeros is better than The Mercenary, it's more fun and hilarious. Yodlaf/Penguin is interesting than the emotionless Sergei. And the action scenes are just great. But the soundtrack of The Mercenary beats it.

What's the title of No.10?
The good, the bad and the ugly is my favourite film.
Best western ever made !
"For a few dollars more" is my favorite movie of all time.
they don't make beautiful movies like this anymore
Good list but my top three would be 1) Once Upon A Time In The West 2) The Good, The Bad & The Ugly & 3) The Great Silence.
GBU was my first Spag Western I had seen. Sentimental, I guess.
@@smallgroveoftrees Nah, a lot will agree with your No.1 as will a lot agree with mine. Personal preference really.
@@NoirFan84I do agree with yours, at least on odd days
Very very good list with the honorable mentions, don't agree about the order but anyways those are more or less the best ones.
The order was a tough decision and I also could have added to the honorable mentions.
Los mejores westerns son los Spaghetti, saludos desde Argentina
This is one genre I'd wish they'd bring back. Once Upon a Time in the West for me. That movie is in my top 5 of all time favorite movies.
Several Franco Nero films are in pre-production. The Forth Horseman (Keoma) and Django Lives.

The Wild Bunch is my favorite non-spaghetti Western. Peckinpah revolutionized gunfight scenes.
Your video deserves way more views. Some of the greatest movies of all time, GBU might be the best of all time.
Thank you. Luckily, I did not make this video for the views, but for the love of film.
Excelente!!! Las mejores películas!!!!
Gracias
My top ten would be...

I See All This movie :) Good Job
i think Keoma and Adios Texas are also great westerns that should be there
Franco is always great. Keoma was good but terrible voice dub choices on the English version and an annoying theme song dropped it down the list. Mr. Strode was great as usual. once upon a time in the west should be number one my opinion
OUTW is great, has a bigger budget than GBU, a Cardinale and a Fonda, but does not have a Tuco.
@@smallgroveoftrees Neither the Man with no name... O wait, it has, is Called Harmonica XD and the Bad is Frank, and Tuco is Chayanne.
@@antoniocenteno1483 agreed, the 3 character types were common in Leone films. Cheyenne was an interesting character but no Tuco.
Fra i 10 metterei anche keoma 1976 l'ultimo spaghetti Western
Keoma was a dark and a very good film. Franco was great as usual.
For a fistfull of dollars more is better than the good the bad and the ugly. But nice Top Ten.
I would agree, if not for Tuco.
Great list.
No face to face, Sabata, Santana or the grand duel?
I did give Faccia a Faccia (Face to Face)an honorable mention. The others would be in my TOP 20.
Grand Duel is not that great. Day Of Anger was a better Van Cleef Western.
Non of these that you have mentioned deserve to be in top 10 greatest spaghetti westerns of all time there are many greater westerns than those you have mentioned
@@NoirFan84 Despite it being good, i still hate the ending.
Nice choices 👍
Great fn list !
I'm surprised blindman is never on any of these list.
Ones that could've been in there:
A Pistol For Ringo (1965)
The Return Of Ringo (1965)
Navajo Joe (1966)
The Hellbenders (1967)
The Big Gundown (1967)
Face To Face (1967)
Day Of Anger (1967)
Run Man Run (1968)
Some underrated ones:
If You Live, Shoot (1967)
Four Of The Apocalypse (1975)
To many to pick from lol
Edit: didn't saw the honorable mentions
I should have done Top 20.
Somehow he has in his list most of the actors and directors of your list
u semse to like Corbucci, make an top 10 of all his flicks
He directed 13 SWs. I think his best were in the top 10 SWs.
There's something satisfying about a film where bad guys have a high body count.
Giu la Testa? Hmmmm?
Honorable mention my.....
After a while I just focused on counting the spelling mistakes...

Taste of killing too
Thanks, I will give it a re-watch if I can find it. It was a long time ago that I watched it. Valerii directed it, so it should be good.
