As Sova is my first character I picked up after seeing I don't do well with Jett I'm proud that he's such a nice dude. Always brings a positive attitude in lobbies with his voicelines
jokes aside though, i guess its because he's in the VP that he is MADE to fight with guns, because they are well, better lol. imagine some day they make an update where every one of sova's bought guns are all types of bows
for me its like sova hates cypher but cypher doesn't really care and acts buddy2 to sova which annoys him, that would be an interesting character dynamic
Theory: They are nerfing omen so much and will too because one day they will replace him with another agent who will be his prior self. (Before he turned into omen).
Riot has been hinting at agent skins as seen in the Warm up Cinematic and the Valorant home screen (KJ wearing a yellow beanie and a lavender/pink hoodie instead of her usual green beanie and yellow jacket. It is possible that one of omen's skins would be his prior self.

I really like the theory of Sova meeting his mirror self, and it's only natural that they would call a truce. The voice line friend/foe comparisons were a great touch!
I think Cypher is well aware of how Sova feels about him, and says the things he says to get under his skin. Those voice lines of his always came across as sarcastic to me. 😂
sova was the first agent i ever played a game as, i mained him for around 2 months now, im considering killjoy to be my favourite but i feel like i could have them both as my favourites but damn i really love sova's personality, its so different than i expected (as he is a hunter) but this explained a bit more i didnt understand i hope the lore goes further and id love to see one day sova help omen find out what happened and if theres a way to help, that would be the most wholesome thing id ever see
So I have a theory about Sova's eye that I dont see or hear anything similar to it, and admittedly it is a stretch. Regardless, here it is: Sova was on ahunt in the tundra at the time of the first light. With his trusted bow and a rifle, he was searching for any and all game he could collect before returnig from his hunt. At some point, he was blinded by a bright flash that, when he opened his eyes, revealed a rift on a distant ridgeline. Curious, he journeyed to it. As he got closer, it sucked him in, and to Mirror Earth. At this time Mirror Sova (MS), was also hunting and making his way to the rift, and he too got sucked through to Earth 1. Renowned as a recon expert, the VP came to him, MS, and recruited him, as the same thing was happening in Mirror Eartg to Sova. Startled after some time, and realizing they were not in their world, they both returned to that ridgeline in the tundra to find the rift. However, one Sova came through before the other, and they met on Mirror Earth. Thinking that Sova was from Mirror Earth, he raised his bow out of shock and fired, wounding MS. Realizing who was in front of him, Sova reacted by treating MS' wounds. Knowing the goals of each respective VP, the Sova's conversed about what had happened, and both knew that they needed to do something to cover their tracks, and restore tehri rightful place. To do this, they each took a shock arrow, or a standard arrow, and stabbed one of their eyes out, leaving the "x" scar. Sova then slipped through the rift once more and returned to Earth 1. The rift was no longer visible as Sova started heading back to his cabin, a hand over his bleeding eye, when Sage and Brim caught up to him. They returned to VP HQ, where KJ fashioned a new eye for Sova, and linked it with his bow, giving him heightened recon abilities. The rest of the story continues as we know it. This theory is derived from the morality that Sova has, him saying that he spared MS' life, and one line from Sage, on both attacking and defending sides, that many people wright off: "Their Sova looks familiar. What am I saying. Of **course** he does." Many see this as Sage recognizing that Sova has a mirror on the other team, but I think that before returning to the rift, Sage had to treat some of Sova's wounds, and got a feel for his life force. When Sova and MS swapped, she noticed the changes in that energy, and I think she has a hunch about what happened, but isn't saying anything, since Sova hasn't said anything. Then Brim and Viper get trappe din Chamber's cinematic after hearing some of, but not all, of this story from Sova down the line. Brim believes he lost the eye on a recon mission to find rift locations, and encountered some enemy, which he believes to be his mirror.
I hope you guys read that all. I know its a lot but it had been stewing in my mind for a long while. As a Sova main, I hear that line from Sage a lot, and it always made me wonder.

it is possible that Sova got the scar from the radiant wars in the future because Sova has some military background just like brimstone does as brimstone quotes "Sova has already lost an eye for them". His eye is also made of radianite (its confirmed) where did he get the radianite from? nobody except the lore creators know but sova created his own bow to help him hunt. He originally didn't have recon darts and shock darts as he used normal arrows to hunt. Possibly he got an upgrade to his darts/arrows right after he got his new eye. His eye helps him aim properly and no it does not make him see where the enemies are because when the recon dart reveals the enemy everyone can see them, not only sova. I believe Sova might be able to get information better than cypher can and maybe that is why they are rivals. His tech is also made from radianite. Hunters fury is probably pure radianite emitted from his arrows.

2:05 I got to know that the first version of sova had a helmet instead of the blue eye. Later it was decided the eye to be the mechanism to connect to the Owl-drone. Not sure if it's related to an injury.

He meant by breaking this collider, brim and viper would go check what was going on and get caught just so he could save them and be recruited. So his plan was to get them captured and save them and be recruited.....
