I owned an audio version of this on my mission. I must have listened to it a million times. I remember some days before going out in the morning to do missionary work, I would play this in the apartment. I would walk out the door feeling ready to take on the world, and do whatever the lord wanted me to do. I love this, it brings so many great memories.
+Scott Grilliot How did you play this video on your mission? I would love to get this to my daughter. She heard a version of this at the MTC and was VERY moved by it! Please contact me at Jakneen@yahoo.com
+Janine Smith Hi Janine! I hope your family is doing well :) In the comments you can find how to download using clip converter. Personally, I use keepvid.com to get TH-cam videos.
Good idea to take something like this on your mission, but what works a little better is something called prayer (deep personal prayers) and pondering many time over when receiving spiritual confirmations
I needed this. Especially when Holland says that continued faithfulness in the church requires something of our soul. It was never meant to be a whimsical or easy thing. There wasn’t meant to be an easy road to salvation. Even as Christ felt pain and affliction asking our Father if there was an easier way and being denied, perhaps there won’t be an easier way for us either. But as we continue through our pain and suffering, we are standing with Christ shoulder to shoulder.
The first time I heard this, I was complaining about having to back the car up my second or so week in the field. I proceeded to listen to it multiple times a transfer. It changed my mission and my life. Love this video.
My mission president gave us this on my mission. I was only about 3 months in. Every time I got really discouraged or just felt so exhausted this video did wonders.
I heard this for the first time as a missionary serving in Oklahoma. It is SO powerful. And as a missionary who was struggling with different things (just like any missionary struggles) It was an answer to pray to hear this. :)
Brian you were one of the greatest missionaries I have met. This video is what was looking for my answer I wrote about earlier, thank you. My family and I a grateful for baptizing our family 10 years ago.
I loved to show this prior to zone meetings. I’d start it like 15 minutes before we would start so that the missionaries could listen to it when they came in. Man it sure brought the spirit by the time we were ready to start.
Two great and faithful men testifying of the Savior and Redeemer of us ALL. Thank you these two men, and THANK YOU to or Father and our Mother and our Brother!
Watched this for FHE with my Family & it not only made us older ones who truly undeestand the atonement & missionary work but my little brother who was really paying attention to the video & spirit that was present! I think of my Sisters who are serving everday & all those who are serving to spread the gospel (The Good News)
What a wonderful video and a great message for members and missionaries alike. Thank you so much for posting this. This message helped me get through my mission, a good friend sent me this video on a flash drive and it kept me going through the hardest parts of my mission.
I am so very grateful for my Savior and his Atonement. Missionary work is the life blood of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. I recently got back from a mission in Brasil and I know that everything stated here is true
I'm greatful for living prophets and apostles and the love they have for the Lord. I'm greatful for their hard work in pushing forward Gods work. Our master is the Lord Jesus Christ. I truly know that God lives and loves us, and that The Church of Jesus Christ of latter-day saints is His true church restored again in these last days. I know this because God revealed this to me personally in response to sincere prayer.
I'm so grateful for the gospel in my life. We all know that life at times is not easy."The Master of heaven & earth is there to bless you.... Rely on Him. Rely on Him heavily. Rely on Him Forever.I say this things in the name of Jesus Christ, amen.
It was an MTC talk, I was one of the missionaries that created this video. sadly I dont have the audio any more :(, check with missionaries, they have that kind of stuff
Thank you for posting this. I watch this frequently and it’s an all powerful reminder of just how much Christ suffered for us, how much pain he endured because of His love for us. God bless!
I have seen this 15 times now and would like to invite all who wish to view and comment and ask concerning this video. This has given me strength to overcome so much in so little a time. I invite all who see this message to ask any questions they feel in their heart, and know they will be answered with love. I invite all who see this to like and share it as well.
I won't to you, tears came out of my eyes every single time i listen to it. I haven't read or heard something more valuable for a missionary on the field than this, i trully appreciate this with all my heart, reminds me to many things on my mission. And most of them were spiritual gold, happy moments and all the afflictions are few after this.
I love to think that one of those drops of His precious and perfect blood was spilt for an imperfect person such as me. I’m soooo grateful for His Atonement.
@bossendenwoodconvict This is where the mormon belief of Baptisms for the Dead come in. We believe that one can stand in and accomplish the necessary salvational ordinances for those who have passed on, and they can either accept or reject them. I just wanted to thank TachisAlopex and Bossendenwoodconvict for having a civil conversation. I appreciate it a lot.
Love this video so much! It helped me through my mission and I listened to it a lot and still do! I know people have been trying to find the piano songs in the background and I am trying to do the same. I know that 1 song is Come Thou Fount from Ginger Fairbanks and I can hear He is Risen and That Easter Morn but I do not know the composers for those songs. Can someone help out?
This is exactly the reply to the question I asked Heavenly Father in my prayers yesterday and today. Nevertheless, I hope that the work will become a little easier and crowned with more success in the near future. And I will continue praying that our fine young missionaries will get the reward that (I think) they deserve for their tireless work.
Ok, im sorry that you see it that way Boss. He uses this video because Christ was the PERFECT missionary. The perfect example of never giving up, never giving in. I don't know if you know, but a mission is not easy. There are so many temptations and walls and hurdles that young men and women have to over come. Sometimes it gets so hard that they want to give up because they think it is too hard. Well guess what, this is to lift up their hearts because it can never be as hard as Christ's.
The events surrounding my encounter with the church were supernatural, miraculous, and life saving. I've never talked to anyone whose had a similar experience. I wonder why?
This is not an attempt to send spam across the net, but an attempt to help people who really and truly need to see this. I know my life would have been better if i found this a year ago. I hope all who could use this wil see it and know of its Truth by the Spirit of God. And those who wish not to partake need not, for we have the agency to choose. Even so, amen.
@TachisAlopex Yes, our works are performed with faith. I wouldn't argue with that one. But I've often wondered about people who are in lying in hospital and cannot be baptised. This must be where God's grace comes in.

Does anyone know where to find the other tracks?
@bossendenwoodconvict For your first question, Yes. We can plainly see that some church are more correct and less correct than others. If one church teaches certain things about faith, and the other does not, one of them has to be wrong. To say that all churches teach only correct doctrine is simply incorrect. No, no He is not. He is very much alive and still appears to men today. All He wants is for us to come back to Him someday so we can live with Him forever.
It was from a devotional given to new mission presidents in the MTC a number of years ago. Its owned by the MTC and many missionaries have paper copies of it
The torture of Christ meaning the atonement? hmmmm it is interesting how every christian faith uses Christ's sacrifice as a tool to help their members overcome sins and be a better person. I was there when Elder Holland gave this talk. Those who haven't felt and simply can't understand what he's speaking of will never come to know unless they have a willing heart to truly find out...amen chaous2000!

"[no] unclean person... hath any inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and of God" -Ephesians 5 "Even so faith, if it hath not works, is dead, being alone. " - James 2
On occasion our missionaries have had to seal there testimony with there own blood, as Joseph Smith Jr., Hyrom Smith did. And the greatest testimony of all that of Jesus Christ.
I would really love to know the piano at the beginning and middle! This is just an amazing video. I have been searching for more about the Atonement and this is a perfect start, thank you
To Think About Jesus Easter Hosanna Come Thou Font of Every Blessing That Easter Morn He is Risen I’d love to find this complete medley though! So beautiful!!!
@TachisAlopex Thanks. It makes sense that faith without works is dead as mormons say. Lack of works suggests lack of faith. However we find examples of people saved without any works or religious affiliation, like the thief on the cross. You are correct to say the priesthood line is broken. This is explained in detail from Hebrews 7 onwards. We learn Christ's priesthood is superior to the Aaronic Priesthood which is now lost. Basically Christ put the priests out of a job.
@benjaminsherlock I was a missionary and had the audio on CD when we had the video. Umm, I'd ask the missionaries, I'd bet they'll find it. Missionaries have all those cool hard to find stuff
@bossendenwoodconvict The best way I can explain faith vs works is that baptism is a work. It is an ordinance that has to be preformed with faith. "Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God." - John 3:5 "born of water" is baptism. +Jordan Anderson I've been looking for the audio for this for years. I served in the Madagascar Antananarivo Mission and it was standard at the time that I served (2001-2003) that we listen to it at least once per month. It's a very powerful talk, and the original that was given at a mission president's seminar at the MTC is even more endearing than the copy put on the lds.org website. I've found a few snippets of the talk here and there, but I would love to get a full audio copy of it. If you ever come across the full audio of the original talk, please let me know... I'm sure there are a few casette tapes or old cd's with it on them out there in the field.
As for authority Priesthood is mentions frequently in the bible. Priesthood is the authority to act in God's name. Priesthood is required for ordinances such as baptism. This authority is talked about in acts. Most christian denominations are a split off of the Catholic church. The Catholic church, in turn, excommunicated the "dissenters" who split off. So simply we can see, that the priesthood line is broken there. It either the Catholic's have it, or there is a lost of priesthood earlier
@bossendenwoodconvict We believe that though a prophet of God, the priesthood is restored. God used prophets from the beginning of time, all the way up to the end of the new testament... why did they stop? The priesthood authority to baptize has to be received from somewhere and you can't just go out and buy it (Acts 8:18-20).
@bossendenwoodconvict our faith would disagree that there are any examples of people saved without works. As for the thief on the cross, we do not know if he had preformed the necessary works before his execution. Also Mormons believe that once we die, we do not immediate get sorted into a heaven/hell. We believe in a resurrection and a judgment, but it isn't judgment day yet. After we die, our spirit separates from our body, the spirit waiting in a place the we call the spirit world

7 years after my mission I still listen to it🤍

me too, it gives me great encouragement! :D
Here i am in 2024, i loved listening to this audio in my mission. One of the best audios to listen.

I still love this video like it was yesterday on my mission ❤️
My Seminary teacher showed this to my class today. It just gives me goosebumps, the message is so powerful. I love the music accompanying it.
Holland is talking about missionary work but it’s also an amazing sermon about the Atonement of Christ
This is life-changing.

Simply Amazing. I know the Jesus Christ lives. He is my Savior and Redeemer. I love Him so much.
In case anyone wants to know, Eyring's talk is "Act in Dilligence" in April 2010. The start of the video starts about halfway down.
I loved to show this prior to zone meetings. I’d start it like 15 minutes before we would start so that the missionaries could listen to it when they came in. Man it sure brought the spirit by the time we were ready to start.
I love this

@TachisAlopex Yes, our works are performed with faith. I wouldn't argue with that one. But I've often wondered about people who are in lying in hospital and cannot be baptised. This must be where God's grace comes in.
Here is a list of the songs/hymns used in this video:
To Think about Jesus (Children's Songbook No. 71)
Easter Hosanna (Children's Songbook No. 68)

One of the piano pieces is “Come Thou Fount” by Ginger Fairbanks. I’m here to find out what the other pieces are.
To Think About Jesus
Easter Hosanna
Come Thou Font of Every Blessing
That Easter Morn
He is Risen
I’d love to find this complete medley though! So beautiful!!!
Anybody know where I can find the song name for the first half of the video?

Brian, wondering if I may have permission to download this video to a flash drive to take with me on my mission this summer?
I loved that message. Would you please send the the audio or the link to the actual audio file. Thanks! Norm

does anyone know where to find the music sheet for this video ?
Sariah Schuerch Ginger Fairbanks “Come Thou Fount” is one of the pieces.
What's the name of this song? Could anyone provide sheet music for this specific arrangement?
I think the song its called he is risen.
One of the piano pieces is “Come Thou Fount” by Ginger Fairbanks

our faith would disagree that there are any examples of people saved without works.
