After the full version is complete, it would be nice if they add tech tree paths, like sciencey path, mad max esque path, with various technologies, factories for making more bullets and other weapons, also a mechanic where sirvivors have specialties like engineering, medicine and etc.., military and so on and so fourth, kinda like civilization, but this just wishful thinking on my part.

This really, really needs to be co-op or multiplayer. How cool would it be to set up your HQ in say, Brooklyn and upon building a radio tower you get transmissions from a player who has their HQ in Manhattan. Adds a whole new trade/commerce, alliances/rivalries aspect to the game when you can play with others, especially I am based on one side of town and playing coop with a buddy who has his HQ on the other side of town and we coordinate with each other - work and expand towards one another until we've cleared our city, town, neighborhood, etc.
Yes, more coverage of this game, I'm looking forwards to testing it out! When I saw the selected area, I was so sure Orbital Potato would choose the horseshoe group of medium buildings up to the right when selecting the HQ that I started wondering what I had missed with the other location. There's probably issues with my suggested location too, I just felt like it was slightly easier to secure with more woodlands close by and a few candidates for the housing. The sight lines from the HQ seemed off, too good to be true perhaps? It did look like there was more coverage possible than the characters acted on, likewise with the watch tower. As others have pointed out, it could be that the groups ran out of ammo but that feels strange it happens in the HQ and that there's suddenly ammo at daybreak. Perhaps an event test would be in order to see if all groups and towers stops defending themselves when the run choice were selected? I wonder how big the downloadable city files are and are the different shops real, fake but placed beforehand or completely randomly generated from the city files? The game state seems much the same except for the selectable cities, but I'm guessing there's more done that we didn't get to yet. A clear ammo indicator and choices with indicators for action stance for each group would be QOL improvements, so it's easily understandable what's the issue with the held fire. But also when in the HQ or other reclamed buildings, there shouldn't be any problems rearming with new supplies. I'm really interested in the concept and much of what's there already, but there's still things that can be improved also. Another great coverage of the game Orbital Potato, despite my criticism I think the overall strategies were sound and only let down by poor quality information back from the game.
You need more towers man, one tower isn't enough. hopefully the balance the zombies, the hordes still seem powerful. They should add traits and upgrades to improve base defenses and etc...

12:37 definitely looks like a nursing home to me. Two long halls, one short hall. Kitchen and dining in the core. Maybe dementia unit on upper floor. Seems perfect for barracks. Maybe a bit ominous, tho 😅
To the point of getting buildings into shelters, you don't have to convert the entire giant buildings in one go -- you can "partial adapt" by click-and-dragging the mouse, and it shows you how many people it will house at that given level. You can do this for any adaptation, like how much of a building should be a warehouse, or how much a cookhouse (which determines how many cooks can work there).
This game needs a tech tree or research mechanic and "primitive" weapons and armour. Rebuilding civilization during/after the zombies is such an untapped wellspring of potential that I hope the devs don't drop the ball on this

I don't think the resource generation of this game insofar as any balancing has been done at all for the alpha is remotely viable for non-US cities. At least, every single attempt I've seen people just run out of weapons and do not find any ammo or guns (or find like one rifle which then consumes all remaining ammo). I *assume* that since it is said to simulate real-world stores a US-based location where there are gunstores will reflect these in-game making at least that aspect a little more viable.
I played the default location in the us and had the same problem. Explored an entire neighborhood and has enough guns for like 3 total squads that ran out of ammo in like week 2. I had to restart to see if missed something it was so bad
Are you talking alpha or demo? Alpha has way more resources. Demo designed to screw you as fast as possible with 4 zombie horde (2 being dogs) within three, four days ingame and loot being extremely scarce, especially ammunition.

Zombies should be = attracted to evil-doers with lots of bad-history = put them in one corner as bait People should be = democratic and may the best-man(done the least evil) wins World is = you reap what you sow, effort put in to be good and nice and kind and .., pays-off when the push comes to shove,. Implementation-failure attitudes will always override the instructions of smarter-better experienced-skillful and be dead super quick. Civilisations = water source to drink = water routes for transportation = move along fresh water sources and fight there. Logistics of water then food then basic craft weapons... reasonableness survives longest. Tired from too much work, not relaxed, ... and generate jealousy, anger, hatred, ... used mara.sss... spirituals guide spirituals guide zombies to enemies. Emotions and attitudes and approaches and ... zombies detect and zoom-in, close-in... No matter what had been shared, taught, contributed, ... vested-evil will never be able to overcome their-own baseline of being losers in many area.sss. they will always be wrong, unlucky, stupid, ... ... kamma is the answer. Beta should add - attractiveness and attractions for (amount of)zombies to travel.

In the trailer they released for it you can see armored vehicles with gun turrets as well as tanks, so I'm sure most of this is coming in some way

how'd you get downloaded maps? the version they just released on steam doesn't allow anything aside from the 5 pre set maps as far as I'm aware
