I just joined your channel today. I am eager to see where you go. Much like your humble beginning into the hobby, I too got hooked. My first trainset was a HO set that my grandfather got me one christmas. I have always had a facination about O since their accessories and things were so interactive. Now I am hooked on O-Scale too.
Garage sale score!!! A best-of-both-worlds alternative might be a shelf railroad with a turnaround at each end. Switching and constant running all-in-one (Model Railroader "101 Track Plans for Model Railroaders" is one source for switching layout's that can fit in 2 - 3 foot wide shelves) (Geo's Trains is one of my favs too). Thanks for the update.
I had a garage layout, but I live in Arizona and I had allot of expansion and contraction because of the extreme heat , we don't have any basements, I understand your issues, basements don't really work well either unless there climate controlled and room for expansion of the layout. I had to give it up, but I'm hoping to take it back up I think now that the kids are grown up out and married and I'm retired I will do a layout in a spare room. Hope things work out for you. I took up RC big time but miss my train's very much. We'll see 🤔 take care I'll keep checking out your channel hopefully you get it figured out 🙏✝️☮️🏜️what a great buy on the fire truck rolling stock
Yes I did the exact same thing and felt the exact same way. I see other people’s layouts and just get discouraged and unsure of myself after seeing other people’s layout.
I don't really have a suggestion; all I can say is net time I'm in that area I'm visiting White Rose. You are far ahead of where I am, I haven't even started my next layout and I'm already unhappy with possible layout designs. Keep with it, I like what you have done so far.
I’ll be posting a video soon of some changes I made over the weekend which drastically improved the running and overall feel of the layout. Stay tuned! Maybe it’ll help with your planning also.
