nissan xterra 2000 2004 how to change the timing belt , waterpump, thermostat, seales and more
i have hade being looking for videos like these and i could not find anything so that made me do, this because i hate when you take your car to the mechanic and charge you 1800 for this job .

For the tensioner it has a spring that rests on left u can't miss it really... The tension is always at o about 530 where the t handle hole is...just make sure there is about a 45 angle deflection on all three sides... Or tighter... And for the person with the cam bolt problem leave the belt on then loosen them...it's easier thy way... Peace

the rotor on the distributor is pointing at the NUMBER ONE spark plug on the pathy when the piston is up. thats TDC, (top dead center)

I am in progress with my 02 and I got stuck with the camshaft sprocket. I can't seem to get it loose. I didn't know I was not suppose to rotate them separately. Do you think I damage my valves..

I have a 2003 nissan frontier v6 does not serve the detonation sensor I want to change but I can not locate where I could say is that I have heard that this sensor under the intake manifold but I removed the distributor can not see anything so I ask guidance. now let me thank you for the infformacion you can ofreserme.

I notice the spring is under the stud. It needs to be on top.
Also he got the cams gears swapped. The Left one is bolted to right Camshaft and vice versa.
wy is it every body DOES NOT TELL YOU THE POSITION OF THE DISTIBUTER and were it is supposed to be pointing
i have a 2001 nissan xterra i replaced the timing belt ,timing belt tensioner ,spring , thermostat , water pump and all the accessory belts ,the mechanic charged me $610.00 but now it is making a whining sound at lower rpm . the timing belt might be too tight ? i took it back to the mechanic and he told me to drive it couple hundred miles to let the timing belt seat that the whining sound will go away what do you think about that ?
