You made Grandpa's day!! Thanks guys. His good word of the day," Lumber is only as good as the Sawyer" It takes a special Sawyer to run a circular mill forget the naysayers, sometimes you need to make stop signs. You need to edge them probably but it will be a lot less to edge.
I know nothing about sawmills but find these videos very relaxing. I watch The Eddie videos too and also find them relaxing and his common sense philosophy of everyday life. Flat lander from New Jersey ha!
Hi Mark when you go to the steam show take your camera. I live over the water and will never get to the show, I'm too old, but I would love to see it Keep yourselves safe and keep the videos coming
Greeting from Townsville North Queensland Australia. Watching all your shows and on the coming Sunday 19th May I will be turning the big 75 years old. Cheers Richard Goodhew
Eleven o’clock in the morning that’s nice timber coming off the mill , early start this morning four hour round trip for some free tooling boxes and bucket fulls of it , just got my workshop cleaned out of junk now the floor has got smaller again with this lot , anyway you guys have a nice day
👍👌👏 Congratulations 🎉 for getting a lot of good, usable construction wood out of this one big log. Thanks a lot for making teaching explaining recording editing uploading and sharing. Best regards luck and especially health to all involved people.
Who the heck could be picky about the kind of log you saw? I think it's fascinating, no matter what kind of log. I guess some folks just love to complain.
@@markgalicic7788 No problem. I just wanted to know that you received my cut list ok. I had email issues over the weekend so I wanted to verify that you had it.
When we saw hickory we will saw 3 or 4 poplar to clean the wood gum off the saw. We will do it with ash also it really helps with how the saw performs especially when it’s time to sharpen after cutting the poplar. You can feel it in the handle for the carriage just how much smoother your saw is cutting
GREAT VIDEO AS USUAL. I NOTICE THAT THE HOSES THAT ARE ZIPPED TIED BY EDDIE RUB AGAINST THE ANGLE IRON UPRIGHT. WILL THAT ULTIMATELY RUB A HOLE IN THE HOSES ? just an observation.
Hi Mark & Eddies & it's is Randy and i like yours video is cool & Thanks Mark & Eddies & Friends Randy & Boom Boom Boom Boom Boom Boom Boom & Boom Boom Boom Boom Boom Boom Boom Boom
Hi Mark, is ZZ standing in the naughty boys corner because he has been a naughty Boy? I find that I get a lot more enjoyment from watching your vids than I get from watching band saw videos. Keep up the good work.
Happy belated Mother's day first of all, and as usual here is something for the occasion. MOTHER M-Maternal O-Observant T-Tender H-Humble E-Enjoyable R-Resourceful To my mother here on Earth I place you above all all others. You gave me life and with the guidance of your gentle ways and firm but soft hand guided and molded me into the person that I am. For me though you are gone from me in this this world you will live in my memory for all time. For those whom still have their mother, respect and revere her like no other as she have given you so much and at such a high cost because her freedom, her personal life she willingly lost to have you, to love you and make you who you are and to hold you dear whether you are near or away so far. On this day tell her that you love her with all of your heart and soul.
What is it watching the blade cutting through the logs that's so entertaining 😁👍 Can't get enough 😂
It has a hypnotic appeal.
thanks , glad you liked it.
Worked at a sawmill 8 years.
@@PitViper329 It is hynotic and tranquil at the same time.
@@patrickhankin9903 It helps me with my severe anxiety problems, for sure.

Good evening from Lincolnshire UK.
good evening Andrew.
good video. Spruce is one of my favorite woods to cut. Keep up the good work
thanks David , I love white pine.
And just like that, almost two dozen 2x4s are born. Perhaps they'll make the sawyer proud of them by becoming a house.
this is going to be a guest house.
Great video mark, I love the way Spruce smells I've only got the Mill a couple logs of it so far. Thanks for sharing👍
thanks Garry , I see you put your boys to work that's great to teach them how to work at the mill.
As always Mark, Eddie and crew expert sawing, and other stuff 😊👍

Who would complain about an FREE VIDEO VIEWING 🤨🤔? EXCELLENT VIDEOS,, WORKING MAN!!!💯👍🤠
thank you.
Couple a little *booms* today. -->Ric
more on the way.
Hi. Another good video. Just out of curiosity, why do you only put the master dog down on the opening cut?
thanks David , I use the master dog for safety when opening a big log then you have a flat side to put down on the head blocks.
Good sawing, Mark. That gave you a really good yield out of that log. Just curious - do you ever get any Douglas fir to saw?
Bill
thanks Bill , Douglas fir is rare here.
Have you ever cut sweetgum
Makes no difference to me what species a log is, just gotta have BOOMS and Man Glitter😎😎👍👍💯💯
I like it LOL!
Thanks Mark. Cut list was sent to your email. Did you receive it? Just checking...
thanks Russ , we are going to start back into the pine next.
@@markgalicic7788 No problem. I just wanted to know that you received my cut list ok. I had email issues over the weekend so I wanted to verify that you had it.
Is the lumber sawn to true 2” x 4” or to lumber yard dimensions?
this was a full 2x4.
Are there any species of wood that dull the bits faster than others, or are they mostly equal?
yes if you saw hickory it will dull the saw faster than any wood I know.

Which logs are the most valuable.
black walnut.

thanks James , that's SO cord for the controls and that's a pipe that they are tied to no sharp edges.
How much did you buy of this spruce Mark, I hope this is the last , miss the pines and I love me some wallnut or cherrie:)
this was a mixed load , we saw spruce for framing lumber and the white pine for siding and utility wood.
Ok Who was in the background when you did your introduction that did not get introduced then?
that's Hank he don't like cameras.

How did the benefit for Pete go?
it went great!
None of these dudes are spring chickens, but they sure don't shirk at work
yes very hard workers for sure.
I hope ZZ Mark makes bail and can get back to the mill with you guys soon!
maybe this week.
Have u thought about solar power for ur electrical power in ur mill?? A small one could run ur lights and ???
great idea.
Check out Fred Dibnah a steeplejack from England that has a great passion for his steam tractors. He's a riot
Had..Fred passed away 20 years ago.
@@patverum9051 I realize that but his videos are still here
Are there any types of tree you will not cut? Any species not worth the effort?
you will like the Friday eve video , we saw just about anything that a customer wants as you will see. but my least favorite wood is hickory.

T.H.E.: If talkin' was sawin' weed be done by now!
for sure Doug.
Are these logs relatively dry or are they heavy and wet???? Are they sappy and sticky??? So glad that you have helpers.
they are very wet and sticky very heavy.
Afterfhought/question Mark- Are you guys experiencing a log shortage?
we had to find a new source of logs
It's not aircraft grade spruce, but it's nice stuff.
Boop! First in. If jawin' were sawin' you'd be done already ;-)
I like it lol!
hi there good show maybe you could get some stick time john
thanks John , sticky time lol.
any dogs up dogs down for the kids today plus booms
for sure.
Why would people not like the spruce, tree snobs?
just some people.
Where is pointy hat knomb
I like the laser on the sawmill of Tim Riddle much better than yours. Check him out!
you don't need a laser on a hand set mill you just look down the log.
@markgalicic7788 true ,but I still thought it was crazy
So some folks don’t like Spruce? So a stop-sign Spruce must be just AWFUL?
Thanks!
Thank you McKinley!
