Just imagine if Skyler actually continued working with Walter like this. They would have been an unstoppable family.
like the Ozarks
this was her working AGAINST walter. she nagged him into getting the car wash and tried to act like her being a book keaper meant she knows how to launder money, when in fact she hadnt even BEEN a book keaper since she first cheated on walt and had walt "jr"

Yeah this moment really highlights how little Walter trusts anyone's intelligence including his wife.
It always is about his narcissisms. He has to be the meth emperor, the head of the hydra, the buyer of car wash, the sleepy goer to bed.

honestly that scene out of context feels more like a family sitcom than a dark drama about a chemistry teacher getting cancer and cooking meth.
Like something Lois and Hal would do.
just add in an excessive amount of laugh tracks and it’d be impossible to tell the difference😂
Yes, it does. Scenes like this, where the characters have sitcom-type emotions and interactions, to me highlight that Breaking Bad is not as brilliant as people think. Walt doesn't act at all like someone who has embraced a criminal life and taken people's lives. Some would say it's because he's so good at faking being a normal person, but to me it just reads as Bryan Cranston falling back into the characters he normally plays coupled with poor direction.

Money does and can corrupt. If someone counts their change as they walk away from a bank teller or cashier and find they were given more than the correct change do they give it back? It doesn't matter on the amount.
What annoys me is after season 4 she suddenly hates Walt, but she was fine with the money laundering and such, so why all of a sudden does she act like she’s a prisoner

This entry scene was soo organic and natural. Very well acted
Lose Walt's ego, and get these two actually working together, they would've been truly unstoppable.
Her delivery of "because I want to pay less" KILLS ME.
Walt: Skyler wanted to pay less, Saul.
Saul: And the problem is?
This is the scene I talk about whenever people say they don't like Skylar.
Skylar is such a badass once she learns about Walter, this kind of scene makes you want to see more of them acting together.
Walt has a stupidly high ego, Skylar was counteracting that by being cold, and calculating, curbing Walter's reckless ideas of what they should be doing.
this is what you call badass? Jesus, the standards of being "badass" have hit the bottom
And also she has a teenth of Walter's intelligence. Even Saul and Jesse to be honest.
@@dinuxplay8003 Walter's "intelligence" if that's what you call it is running into things without considering consequences.
Skylar actually thinks. And I think that's a great way to have her character expressed, and I find it unfortunate that just because she's a suburban white mom who has a meth kingpin as a husband she's hated in the fanbase
This is the scene I talk about in explaining why I don't like Skyler. This is not her coping with Walt's evil or trying to maneuver a way out, or be the voice of reason, this whole incident is Skyler feeding his worst impulses and instincts. This is Skyler being the devil on Walt's shoulder instead of his victim.
They swindled an immigrant out of his business, for the crime of saying some truths to Walt and for not wanting to cooperate with Skyler's self-congratulatory scheme or accepting her attempt to boil his life's work down to a dollar value, and then they shorted him on the sale price for no reason other than spite.
Even worse, the whole justification for Skyler's antipathy toward Walt - that he was endangering the family in the name of his pride and greed, and called it providing - is thrown out the window when she restores his parental position in exchange for him going along with her car wash scam, instead of the ideas of the professional criminal counselor and certified attorney at law for laundering their money. Even worse is that the car wash will eventually prove to be inadequate to the job for which Skyler selected it.
This proves only her intelligence and skill in taking advantage of people and manipulating them. At anything worthwhile in the intentions of the plan, she fails utterly.
@@willromez how tf is it? She just bought the car wash from a clueless owner and Saul and Walter wasn't planning on buying that, hence didn't have to think about it. Otherwise, Saul would have done it at a snap.
I wouldn't call her cunning really even if she tries. It runs in their family? You do realize Hank is the brother in law and not her sibling, right? Hank is obviously smart and has a strong set of morals which he sticks by almost all the time which disallows him to be better. But same cannot be said about most other characters in the show including Walter and Skylar (especially the "strong set if morals" part).
@@Gunleaver🙄 would you stop with the trope of the woman having to be the good one, the moral compass?! Skyler is as corruptible as anyone...and lookie there, she's got smarts Mr Chemistry whizz doesn't

I wish we had gotten at least two seasons of Walt and Skyler working together like this. It was fantastic.
Everyone forgets who useful and smart Skylar was
"I better call Saul" should be Walt's line
Saul would just tell Walt to stop whining and let her negotiate.
I always found it amusing that right after this they were celebrating buying the car wash then Skyler has a go at Walter for buying champagne as that could topple their story like she wasn't googling money laundering on their personal computer just 2 episodes prior 🤣

This is the moment skylar got called by bagdhan
Yeah! Well seen, you got it!
This is the moment holly became Huell
"I'm negotiating."
"Why?"
"Because I want to pay less."
Such an underappreciated line, it's so simple but effective haha.
People who always pointed to Skylar being the villain or antagonist to Walt missed scenes Vince/Peter left in the show. The family struggles all stem from Walt and his ego. (Walt is also my favorite TV character of all-time).
1. Yes, Gretchen/Elliot screwed over Walt but in a flashback scene Skylar follows Walt to their present house. In the past during a open house, Skylar asks Walt about the cost of the house and it's subsequent payments. Walt reassures her about his future revenue and all these grand ideas (which didn't pan out).
2. In the very first episode Skylar has to stay on top of Walt because he clearly isn't good with money. If you've ever balanced debt, you know exactly when your statement due day is. You avoid using one credit card during a particular period so your new balance starts again to avoid high APR fees which Skylar has to tell Walt.
I love the creativity of these show, perfect including the details.
Skyler and Walt did great together once she was finally on board. Sadly Walts Pride/Ego just couldnt handle it.
Shows here that Walter isn’t the bad boy he thinks he is..And is seen in many “Subtle” Moments from the first episode all the way through in certain episodes right up till the end..The only time he actually is in control is the final episode when he’s honest with himself and admits to himself he’s out of his depth..And we all know the ending there..
Such a brilliant written series..
Acting..Screenplay..Mood settings..
Don’t think it could and ever will be topped..
She broke his walnuts. 'Tough negotiator.
If Skyler headed Walter’s empire, he would’ve been an unstoppable international force
Did you read what you just wrote? If she were head, he would be an unstoppable force. It was a partnership
@@lenawagenfuehr53 Is there a point you’re trying to make that’s different than mine? Coz obviously it wasn’t a partnership. She forced her way into controlling what she could while she could to protect herself and their kids.

1:44 this is the moment Heisenberg called Saul
Walt’s biggest mistake was not bringing skylar in sooner she would’ve chewed Gus up and spit him out before he could get to Walt
This scene reads like a sitcom.
This scene makes me want a show where it’s just Malcome in the Middle with criminal parents
In my opinion if Skyler had her later mindset when Walt first started the business, they would be unstoppable. Not saying I like her, just saying that they would have been such a powerhouse; sword and shield.
They only realized that when making BCS.
There is nothing wrong with liking skyler as a character. I see people always say stuff like "I dont like her but" or "not saying I like her" she was a good character who did unlikable things and yet the same people who refuse to like her rooted for a meth dealing murderer with an ego the size of texas. Everything she did was pretty understandable given her husband who is dying of cancer then become a drug lord behind her back and slowly turned into a sociopath... not sure why people tend to not blink at the questionable things walt does but refuse to forgive her character for anything she did.
if walt wasn't motivated by ego, they would've been unstoppable deadass
Uhhh what? You don't liker because she reacted negatively to her husband lying and become a drug dealer?

They won the battle. An unnecessary battle.
I wish this had happened more in the show and they ran with this sort of idea of skylar being all in on the criminal enterprise. She was soo smart and damn resourceful. She was also a nice ego check for walt. I totally get why the show went the direction it did, it showed how far walt had fallen and how he put his needs/wants above his family. But i would have loved to see a version where they are a mafia boss level crime duo
This was why I liked Kim more than Skylar. I expected her to be like Skylar and try to pull Jimmy back but she enabled him. May have been toxic but it was damn entertaining
