    Loving the Hurricane shirt, I saw them live with Stryper back in 88/89 tour. Really liked them alot, they put on a good show!

    I have a dimebukcer ready to go into mine.....I really wish the FR special I have sitting here would fit, but alas it is not the type that this guitar would use as it is routed for the diving and pulling up.

      I love the sound of Dimebuckers. Have fun building it!

      @@usedguitarsandbooze I just stained and grain filled it and it surely will rock. I had a hard time between a Pearly Gate and the Dimebucker - Dime won out in the end. I did measure out the FR Special and found it will fit this guitar and so I will use it instad of the cheap hardware that came with it.

    This guitar technically is not "used" but it was bought at an Amazon returns auction for about half the listed price, so I'll consider it not-new. :)

    Greetings! Did you do any sanding prior to the Tung oil? I bought one of these kits too.

      Howdy! I did a light sanding on the body and a bit more on the neck. Enjoy putting your kit together!

      That’s what I thought. I did the same on the last Leo James I bought..appreciate the response.

    Just curious did you have to glue the neck? I mean it didn’t come with a neck plate or was that just your preference?I think you killed with the stripes that looks really cool nice job

      Hello, I probably could have bought the neck plate and screws and made it a bolt on, but the joint on the body looked thin as it’s built to have the neck glued in. I prefer bolt on necks as you have more ways to adjust angle and action, but with this it didn’t look like the body could support that. Thanks for the stripes compliment!

    They problem with the cheap Floyd rose is the quality of the metal. The blades eventually wear down.

      If you lube the posts and never adjust post height with string tension you can prolong it for a long time and when it does happen a basic round file from your local hardware store can clean it up. They do take a little more work than a genuine floyd but I have a couple of $20 generics from ebay I use on a couple other builds and theyve both held up for 2 years so for.

    I use epoxy to glue my neck. Much stronger but non-reversible

    • @usedguitarsandbooze
      @usedguitarsandbooze  ปีที่แล้ว

      Cool. It is stronger, and I was told thicker so you need to do a slow pour. I've never tried it.
