Hi Jimmy Great video mate. Be very careful you don't overheat mate. I will be sowing mine when we get back from holiday in a couple of weeks. Good luck mate. 👍👍👍👍👍
They are on heat mats now Rob mate, i checked every couple of hours, the light was cool to the touch and so was the compost and module trays. Enjoy your holiday mate 👍
It was fine Nick, i checked every couple of hoiurs and the light stayed nice and cool as did the tray. These are full spectrum led lights mate and dont get hot enough to melt plastic or cause a fire. Heat mats in place now 👍
Cheers Duncan, i have checked it 3 times already lol. i dont think it was such a good idea anyway as the light is still cool to the touch as is the plastic tray 👍
@@CoastalGardensNW I turned it off around 7am this morning mate, light still nice and cool and so was the tray, so it was a waste of time. Heat mats arrived this morning so onwards and upwards. Looking forward to watchinmg your onion video challenge video when you upload it mate 👍
@@Jimmy.Plot.41.b ahh did you ye best off mate a heat mat wil make all the difference I onley use a small one I'm using the heated propagator to get them going, I'm just editing it nowate hopefully it will be up today some time
Nice one Jimmy, turning that light upside down for heat was a genius move. When you get your heat mat, I’ve seen people put them on some celotex insulation board to reflect all the heat upwards into the trays, just an idea for you. Great video. 🧅👍
The most amount of different varietys of onions i have ever grown at once were 3, Rinsberger, Ailsa Craig and Red Baron, thats not including spring onions and shallots. so i have went 1 variety more this time and i will probably grow more Red baron and Rinsberger come January. Thanks for your comment
Ohhh I love a challenge especially one across the pond ❤. I don’t normally grow so many onions but hey there are some big champions in this one so I better pick up my socks for the colonialists 🤣🤣. Have a fab week Jimmy and let the games begin 👍, Ali ☔️☔️🇨🇦
@@Bassysplot you need to get Ailsae seeds and then get them started off, as soon as January if you can, either in your greenhouse or at home on a windowsill
No its not to late but its not my challenge mate, its Pete Trenouths challenge. If you dont have any AILSAE seeds send me an email with your name and address on and i will send you 10 seeds so you can take part. If you want to, then go onto petes video and comment to say you are taking part, heres the link to his video th-cam.com/video/TdvGAphY8vg/w-d-xo.html
