I have tons of respect for poketuber that are transparent on what they're holding. So many people in this space hide behind what they actually have and love to take credit for moves in the market when they actually never bought themselves.
I agree 1000%. Full transparency should automatically come with the territory when they're telling people how to spend their money. Any channel that promotes investing advice and is unwilling to show their positions in full should not be trusted
Long time lurker here! Love the content and transparency. One thing I’d suggest is calculating your holding cost if wasn’t in your radar already. Would be great for the community to see and would be cool see what percentages your items would have to be sold at to overcome these cost.
Thoughts on sealed Japanese Pokemon for the long haul? Been able to pick up boxes of these recent sets in the low $30s (below MSRP) and seems like a no-brainer to me. Still heavy into English but this big dip on Japanese has caused me to add in that as well.
Glad you're not backing down and taking more shots at "Investors" who aren't showing their purchases. 2024 took so much from you, good that you're fighting back.
Only thing that would worry me is the amount of people/stores doing this same systematically. In that way something else (maybe from some other game) could be better investment but is it too speculative then. Of course there is no extreme risk either unless you become 'heavily invested'. 80% of market price is extremely strong pricing for seller. Could be way lower.
I wish pokedata would add missing items. I wrote up a page of missing stuff with tcg player links and its still not on there. Im considering tracking my collection somewhere else
anyone giving you shit for sitting on sealed "investments" is soft. prudent business decision. even some distros sit on product and sell it for near market later. why try to sell all your inventory for 15% margin when you can hold some of it for 200-300% return in a couple years...after a few years you have a consistent flow of new product for lower margins and can trickle out the old inventory for larger returns.
I've never been without a bit of modern sealed the past 10 years but it's hard to hold onto too much the way it's been going up so quick the last few years
@@KetchumAllCollectibles Of course, I wasn't serious haha. I just thought it was funny when you mentioned that only some Japanese cases mention the set number but showed a picture earlier of your Japanese cases with the set names written on the sides in Japanese.
Probably hard to make out but in of the photos there was a but of celebrations. This video was just referencing sealed booster box cases and loose boxes mostly. I think I have about 2k loose celebration packs, a handful of celebrations products mismatched and then maybe a few dozen celebrations PC etbs too

So true 😂
Cherry pickers galore out here
Opens up to a lot of criticism on either side so I get why people don't do it though

I'm going to have a few videos coming up soon getting deep into contextualizing opportunity cost.
@@KetchumAllCollectibles Opportunity cost is the biggest nightmare for Pokemon investors. The missed S&P 500 gains can really screw with your head.
Dark, yet very expected @James. Ironically fulfilling. @Dan, def want to see these "investment palettes"!
This is very interesting, thank you for sharing.
Glad you enjoyed it!
Thank you TH-cam for finally recommending me someone who puts their money where their mouth is.
🚀 🙏
We need that investment pallet video! Thanks Dan!
Thanks for watching!
Here for the #transparency! You're killing it btw love seeing the growth! Edited for making it to the end lol
Legend has it his beard got 11% thicker instantly.
I just trimmed it 😆 😬
I recently made spreadsheets of my sealed collection and it was a lot more than I thought and then I bought even more.... 😅
🚀
I thought I was going to see $100k worth of pallets of metazoo based on the thumbnail :)
😬 ☠️
Dan is doubling down 💪

Love to see it

I like it but not as much as wholesale pricing in English tbh. I do pick up some as shown. Historically I never did much of it

Enjoyed watching this and seeing what you’re up to 😎
Thanks for watching! Hope to see you again in Charlotte
i also offloaded one of my ES cases. wasn't able to find a buyer for near market price so i sold for $610/box.

I've had some worry since 2016 that too many people were sitting on modern. Some day it'll probably be a problem but it hasn't yet too much
Looking forward to your new videos man!

I don't think any are perfect but hopefully they'll adjust to your suggestion
How many evolving skies booster boxes sealed do you have stashed?
I mention it in the video
@@KetchumAllCollectibles I watched it all and never heard a number. Sorry if you did...
@TheMiltonroad it's just a case and a few boxes at the time the inventory was taken. I talked about selling/trading some recently too
I have front run you and have two entire pallets of Battle Styles cases.
Very nice, how much
54k teaser 🥶🥶🥶 sheeeesh
That tease was a solid 20% of the value of the whole lot 😆 . It's a good one though
Im teased and not sure I can handle the wait 🎉
I have 5 silver tempest booster boxes, would you be interested?
Yeah feel free to email me or dm me on ig, discord etc. 80%+!
RIP Metazoo booster cases on the spreadsheet - they will do well as tax deductions

Yes
