Once I was home, he called me with a lot of sexually forward questions. We had agreed to meet for supper in Toronto on the day I was going to visit my mom again, and also see Kids in the Hall. It took until the day of the date, that my spidey-senses started to scream loud enough that I stood him up, took my mom to the show, and ate at the pickle-barrel with her. He left rude text messages, so I called him to see if he would backpedal. He didn't, and I replied with "well sorry I'd rather hang out with my mom whose got cancer!" and FLIPPED THE PHONE SHUT. It was wild to see the famous voicemail like a year or two later. He was also a fake doctor charged with sexual assault/harassment, and charged for having a grenade in his college dorm.

I met this guy, and I'm pretty sure I'm referenced when he says "or maybe your mom is dying of cancer":
My mom was receiving radiation therapy for cervical cancer in Toronto, and she wanted to take her girls shopping (we all lived 2 hours North) -Things moms do to create memories if they aren't sure how many they have to make. She was acting a little manic from the anti-nausea medication and making us laugh so much.
That's when this guy tapped my shoulder and began his line. He referred to my mom as "my friend", called me elgant and intimidating for men, asked for my number and tried calling it to prove it was or wasn't fake.
To be fair, I was in my early 20s, and he wasn't horrible, and I was so insecure that I would never turn down anyone approaching me those days. Once I was home, he called me with a lot of sexually forward questions. We had agreed to meet for supper in Toronto on the day I was going to visit my mom again, and also see Kids in the Hall. It took until the day of the date, that my spidey-senses started to scream loud enough that I stood him up, took my mom to the show, and ate at the pickle-barrel with her.
He left rude text messages, so I called him to see if he would backpedal. He didn't, and I replied with "well sorry I'd rather hang out with my mom whose got cancer!" and FLIPPED THE PHONE SHUT. It was wild to see the famous voicemail like a year or two later.
He was also a fake doctor charged with sexual assault/harassment, and charged for having a grenade in his college dorm.

If people don’t appreciate it, thats okay, I dont want them either. I feel like we should all try to change things to be better people, because we all can, but being better doesn’t mean changing your personality for someone else. Im not saying you dont know this, but I just saw this comment blow up on my phone, and wanted to say more of my piece.
