- A first test flight in the Iris Simulations Pilatus PC-21 for Microsoft Flight Simulator - taking it for a circuit at Booker Airfield, and then doing some aerobatics. We manage to put it into an unrecoverable spin at one point - something I thought might not be possible :)

Nice demo Johnathan and a great 2nd loop. I remember seeing Shorts Tucanos at Boscombe Down when I was a kid, such nice looking aircraft. I was willing you to counter the spin but alas she wasn't having it ;). Looking forward to your next video, all the best.

Well done my person. This was very well done. That super nasty spin was also conducted in a similar YT vid. but not as in depth and analytically as you did.
For this terrifying situation the only mitigating sequence I can recommend is HARD right rudder with FULL 8 o'clock stick and right LEAN max forward in the cockpit?
I just bought it after watching this video and it is one of the best aircraft!!

Nice video, I bought this more or less as soon as the Iris website was fixed to allow new accounts to be created and have had a blast so far. Thank you for showing that hotstarts aren't modelled :-) and it's probably shouting at you because you haven't turned on the oxygen or the probe heat, and the ejector seat disarm pin is still in place. That's what the CAS warnings are anyways ... :)

is it possible to get a gps route on the map display? I program the routes on FMS and get all the waypoints, but can't figure out how to get the magenta line on the map display for when i want to do IFR approaches -_-
Nope. Like many things on this plane this function is INOP
I'm just getting familiar with this plane, but its not the best out there but its good fun to fly in the mountains....

Dope is a mixture of solvent and paint applied to fabric on old aircraft, right ? ;)
Thanks for the video. How in depth is the FMS? Is it the CJ4 version? Can you insert IAP's or STARs/SIDSs? Navigraph Support?
It looks like the Ssobo Airbus FMS.
A Crackin video but I am saving my quid for the 414 for that December holiday :)
The 414 is probably more fun longer term - for doing navigation etc.

Not sure on that one - I haven't played with ILS in the PC-21 yet.

I'm just using a Thrustmaster Airbus stick and throttle quadrant.
@@jonbeckett looking into that. what do you use to trim then? I cannot use pedals due to fysical limitations and have a Honeycomb Yoke but have hard time finding a solution for rudders.
@@lapinobel I use the hatcswitch for trim. The stick twists for rudder.

You don't see your own body - and yes - if you edit the instructor options, you can vanish the copilot :)
how do you learn the use of the fmc? I can't find it in the manual

FSRealistic was incredibly annoying. Good overview of an incredible new airplane. I will likely buy the Airplane but not FSRealistic ugh
I love FSR. I had the free trial for a week, and when it expired I couldn't even play the game without it. It brings the immersion to a whole new level.
It's fully configurable, not sure why he had all those passenger sounds enabled. Fresh profile for a new plane so he probably just forgot to disable those.
I just forgot to remove the screaming lol
