      He has naturally great stamina but that doesn’t translate when you add 40 pounds. If he had been running all the time like other boxers he would have even better stamina.This would carry up to 240lbs.

    That explains why Wilder's legs are so skinny. Jogging is an integral part of boxing. It not only increases your stamina and cardio but it's also increases your leg strength and balance. Your legs need to be programmed to endure fatigue while keeping the body upright and constantly moving, you cannot get that from water training. If Wilder get's dragged into the championship rounds in a gruelling fight with an elite heavyweight, he's going to start chicken dancing.

    • @herbleonard88
      @herbleonard88 8 ปีที่แล้ว +29

      He better jog if he face AJ

    • @jdogg1230
      @jdogg1230 8 ปีที่แล้ว +119

      Actually jogging is a slow twitch muscle exercise, so the more you jog the skinnier your legs a prone to be.

    • @str3n6th1
      @str3n6th1 8 ปีที่แล้ว +75

      Jogging wouldn't make his legs any bigger, it's his genetics lol, those calves aint growing no matter what

    • @dantheman4838
      @dantheman4838 8 ปีที่แล้ว +19

      Justtakingover Jogging helps strengthen legs, that's common knowledge. Obviously jogging alone will not add bulk to his legs, that would involve weight training. However the fact that Wilder doesn't even jog, means that his legs get no muscle or endurance training what so ever. So that's the reason why his legs are skinny.

    • @str3n6th1
      @str3n6th1 8 ปีที่แล้ว +34

      Those are 2 hard fights! I think Wilder will struggle with a great slick fighter like AJ, and even King Kong (Ortiz). Wilder's biggest issue is he started so late and this shows when he fights. AJ would be a GREAT test for him; its a fight all of us would want to see. If for nothing else it would show us how good he really is. Personally I like him and think he would do better against AJ than many expect.

Wilder hits just as hard or even harder than both of them mostly because of the leverage he get from his frame..the man gets torque fr. That alone shows that he's a real threat in the division then you add his footwork and speed to the equation. Put some more weight on while keeping your footwork sharp and the man could be unbeatable.

    Questionable cardio, shoddy footwork, poorly balanced and swingin' wildly is a recipe for disaster in the ring. Sure, Wilder's big and powerful, but a fighter of comparable size who possesses the skills that Wilder obviously lacks, will almost certainly have their way with him in the ring. The sweet science always prevails over brute strength.

    • @bandit7498
      @bandit7498 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      tswrench Everybody talks shit about Wilder, but the boy’s undefeated. And if you ever truly watched him fight typically his punches are sharp and he usually hurts his man with a good shot, then he might go crazy, but he know’s what he’s doing. George Foreman was no less a big wife swinger with his punches, but many people now rank George pretty high. What’s the difference? Because he lost to Ali?

    You mean to tell me I ran more than Wilder but he still has more stamina than me?

    • @1DProdigy
      @1DProdigy 8 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      Not necessarily, they are two different types of conditioning. I've seen marathon runners who couldn't spar as long as me but ran longer than me. If you jog AND do boxing exercises though it gives an advantage & stretches the lungs, when you spar the same amount of air doesn't pass through & stretch your lungs like when you jog.

    • @l3tme545
      @l3tme545 7 ปีที่แล้ว +9

      many ways to get stamina beyond jogging maybe he does breathing yoga meditation or advanced breathing exercises which both do increase stamina alos inner body power... Jogging is bad for the knees and back if your very tall for some folks. Also if you have history of feet / toes issues( like shaq an yao ming). it not healthy because fighters fight on their toes and need foot movement. So it alot way to increase stamina, also it alot ways to increase breathing as well.. not every standard training method improve everyone ability .. some have find other ways

    • @peterhandy2551
      @peterhandy2551 7 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Agreed, any aerobic exercise such as cycling, swimming, rowing etc is great for increasing stamina, and lung capacity/efficiency, but with lower impact on joints tendons and ligaments.

    He and others like him need to think how much better they would be if they not only trained and did what every other boxer did, but strived to even do more.

    He's still a very new fighter so the average fan will doubt him but if this guy keeps working on his technical skills and defense he will end up as one of the best fighters we have ever seen. His natural talent is nothing to sneeze at, having beaten 8 former World Champions Via KO, we've seen he can go all 12 rounds and take a punch. He just has to refine his technical game as he continues to develop as a boxer.

    A lot of stamina for boxing is mental. Mike Tyson once said he didn't get stamina until he realized it was mental. If Wilder doesn't do extra running or entrance training, then his mental stamina is controlling what needs to be done with his body.

    Wilder is a classic brawler. He doesn't pretend to be a technician. He wants to stand toe to toe and see who's better. I appreciate that kind of fighter. After his tune up fight, I hope one of the top fighters will man up and fight him.
