- The Alesund area consists of several islands, and this excursion visits two - Giske and Godoy. Giske is known as the Saga Island because the Viking Chieftain Rollo was born here. Today, the inhabitants have tunnel connections with the town of Alesund and the mainland. Visit the Giske Church and cemetery dating back to 1150, originally a chapel that belonged to the powerful Giske family. Visit the lighthouse on Godoy Island for a fabulous view of the ocean and the many islands.

The views from the lighthouse are truly is breathtaking. Could have skipped the church. Once you’ve seen the Vatican or Notre Dame this is silly. But $120 for two stops is a bit overpriced. Take a cab.

@@admtimBetter to just explore the city by foot tbh. The cab is atleast 150 quid round trip with a cab. Cabs are craaaaazy expensive in Norway

Nice video and glad we saw this. We were thinking of either doing the Trollstigen Tour or the Giske & Godoy Tour from the cruise ship, but after watching your video, I don't think it's worth $100 for the tour.
