I don't believe these are worth a whole lot but I had too.. lol
Hey you were not wrong and actually they are worth something. Vietnam memorabilia like that and that kind of shape and lithographs each one are worth quite a bit. Do not let eBay be the only outlet you look at they would do great on auction. One great place for those would be ebth everything but the house is a really nice option house. Also I would research specific options for military memorabilia. I think just on what I saw I would guess you're looking at probably $500 to $800 if they are true lithographs and of course it depends on the photographer as well. The fact that they come straight from an Air Force Base their lithographs and it's Vietnam I think you've done really well for yourself.
Nope! I would have done the same. HE was rude, he only wanted them because you wanted them
You did the right thing.
@@happylifegoodlife4all Thanks.. I appreciate the feed back.. I will look at all options..
@@moonstars315 I agree.
You did the right thing. He was in the wrong trying to worm his way into your deal.
Yea, I HATE 🪱WORMY BEHAVIOR. SCREW HIM. LOSER LOL!
First come first serve.
Well said!!
I agree. He was the one stepping on your toes. If only for that reason, i wouldn't have let him weasel his way into a deal.
The "wormsy" guy shouldn't have said a word. Plus, human nature. People want what they can't have.
Reseller etiquette would be for him to wait until you were leaving the property and then ask you to buy some from you at a fair price. He should have known better. You were 100% gracious.
Agree 💯
I agree with Claudette978 - 2 months ago. I did not like him calling you BRAU! Not polite at all & I'm wondering if he was being preducice...ESPECIALLY when he said " You want me to help you take the 2nd set off your hands". No thanks pal. You were extremely polite & it was your choice! If I was selling them, I'd say Sorry sir, 1st come , 1st serve! That choice was up to you & yes you ARE A KIND GENTLEMAN! JOB WELL DONE & THE COUPLE WAS VERY POLITE! I3had a few large garage sales & at one of them, a couple stole ALL MY NICE COUSTUME JEWELRY. It was my daughter in laws fault. She was watching my items & I was using the restroom inside her home. We tried to find the couple & we had an eye witness. All I have to say is, "what goes around comes around!" How RUDE! I've always believed in that phrase! God sees all & I can't stand theves! I never stole anything in my life! Our parents raised us up proper & I raised my sons the same way! Be sure to always watch your back at garage sales! 😉
Agree
@@slickslock814 whats with calling him prejudice?!? Erbody so quick to say that these days with no reasoning behind it.
Exactly!!!!!!!
The moment she said $5 for all and you said you’d take them…sold. Just pick them up and pay the lady…first come first served. He was rude for pushing on you.
Agree.. You would think he would move on after that.
@@TeslaPicker Hey... you win some, you lose some, right? If HE'd gotten there b4 you he'd have scarfed them up, you can bet! And he wouldn't have been offering them to you, either!
Sore loser.
If he'd been more gracious about it you might be inclined to cut him in next time... but his sense of entitlement was a major turn off. His attitude sucked, so he basically screwed himself over.
Too bad. So sad.
Timing is everything!
(You did great!)
I was going to say just pick the whole thing up and pay s was Nd that’s it
You did fine. You were there first, and you negotiated the deal fairly. Fun find!
Agreed. They are yours! There is a lady at the local flea market near me who runs around and buys jewelry super cheap early in the am. I had something in my hand the other day and she straight up took it from my hand. The seller who has sold there before claims she didn't see it.....it wasn't even real anything just a piece that peaked my interest for my mom. She aggravates a lot of the regular vendors. Word travels fast at a flea market and we all run into people we see at sales. You don't interrupt someone's negotiations and first person gets the item...not the person who tries to convince the seller that it's theirs during or after you negotiate a price.
He knows better. You handled him perfectly.
The etiquette here is for that other guy to know when to not butt in on another person's deal, it's just rude.
That was rude on his part regardless if he was a reseller or not.
I just started watching this and was struck by how polite you are at all the sales. Then, this fellow comes up and butts in. You were polite, you followed proper etiquette, and you saw them first. Well done!
That's when you pull out your Johnson and start pissing on what you want. You have to make it perfectly clear whose territory it is. I approach the yard not wearing pants and have never had anyone challenge my authority.
First come, first served. He was rude!!
You absolutely did the right thing!!!!! You were looking at them first and you told her you want them ALL!!!! HE NEEDED TO MIND HIS BUSINESS!!!!! They were SOLD the minute you said "I'll take them ALL"
9:30 I'm cringing at how she's creasing them all up, flopping them all over trying to get the stack of prints back in the envelope. They had likely never been out of that envelope until then. Lesson here...lay your claim, pay the price and take immediate possession of it.
yup. pick them up put them in your hands, i never let stuff i want sit there whilei negotiate. i hate it when i see youtuber pickers do that. just pick it up and claim it.
exactly, I'd have been like don't worry about putting them back I'll just take them like that
Certainly not watch her mangle your prints what were you thinking? Pay the woman and pack them up yourself.
Me, too. I was cringing, too. I would have said, politely, “ let me do that.”, in a way she would think I was helping her and not cringing.
The only thing you did wrong is not having the five dollars out of your billfold a little quicker. Pull that trigger Dave!!!! Get it and get out!!!! LOL
I was thinking the same. Done, $5 and go. The conversation afterwards was unnecessary.
Amen. He would not have thought to share them with you or when asked to so. Remember who you are dealing with. Twenty years ago the same thing happened to me. It was an estate sale and he came specifically for the item I got to first and he felt, you saw it in his face, because he had his son with him I would relinquish the item. He walked right out of the sale with a scoff!
You had hands on them first. They're yours.
He tries to be chill about it... so seller doesn't know / figure out the true value!!
No he did nothing wrong! The lady put him on the spot!
You okay Sir! You were negotiating and it wasn't any of his business, and he was hating. People are like that in this broken world. Bless you brother and yours.
The lady put you in an awkward spot by asking ,"unless you want to share them". You handled it well. I would have just replied I'll take them all, no reason owed. Hope you profited well from the extras!
Some people feel guilty and try to make up for it like that but she had no business telling him that she didn’t realize what that creates.
"You don't wanna share them?" Ugh..the nerve! I'm glad you didn't share. 😁
Exactly, I was so disappointed in her for asking that question. She was basically trying to guilt him into letting go of half of his find.
That was rude of her
She really shouldn't have said anything she had already sold them.
The lady that gave you the price actually put you on the spot. Absolutely horrendous after she already quoted you the price.
Exactly! That was what annoyed me the most. When she asked "do you want to share those" was complete bush league.
DoNt YoU wAnT tO sHaRe?!?
She did really, she’d already sold them to him,so F the other guy
@stephanie keplinger right!!!! The lady said "You don't want to share them?" I would've said sure, if you'll share half the proceeds from your garage sale! I think the lady might've been trying to double up on her money by splitting what he bought already in half and selling to the other slimy guy.
I thought the same thing! She made the situation awkward.
You were in the right. He should have told himself darn missed that deal can’t win them all and left it at that. You were first to make the deal. It’s your choice what to do after. You should not feel guilty.
You actually had every right to take the whole stack. Congratulations on a great find. That guy knows the game. He would have kept the whole stack as well.
He tried to move in on your deal. The seller made it more awkward by entertaining his antics. The seller should have said I'm sorry, but we already made a deal. Best wishes! -Steven
You did right. That guy was just a little late. His walk of shame leaving that sale was hilarious. He should know better
Dave, reselling is a business. You have absolutely nothing to feel bad about.
Xactly this!!
So is murder and dope dealing. Not all businesses are moral or valuable. "Resellers" are, more often than not, scalpers, which is not something to be proud of.
@@johnnycaralta bruh why compare illegal things with legal things. Finding something for cheap is their hustle. They arent goin around telling people "
"these arent worth much you should just sell them for cheap".
@@arvinchong7758 That's pretty much what they're doing. Omitting the actual value to all but rob the people is no better than lying about it.
I'm not even necessarily talking about this specific individual, I'm just talking about "reselling" as a whole. It's a business that relies solely on taking advantage of ignorance, with some luck sprinkled in.
@@johnnycaralta uhmm they arent ommiting anything unless the person asked them would these go for higher? its not their fault the other person doesnt know the value. does ignorance excuse you from the law? I dont think so so why should the Ignorance of other people with regards to pricing certain items be a resellers fault?
As a reseller, HE needs to follow etiquette. There are unspoken rules that should be followed. You don’t step on each other’s toes, or interfere with each other’s deals. This world is full of stuff to resell. You handled that with class. He surely did not.
You did the right thing 💯. That guy was intrusive, the deal was done.
That was a bs move by him. What really made me cringe though was the seller taking them out of the envelope, why? But then struggling to get back in, hope they didn't get damaged.
Tesla Picker should have taken them from her and ensued that the lithographs were put in without damage. They were his property. She (the seller) was just trying to find a double set to sell to that other man. I question her behavior even more so than the reseller guy. They sold them for too cheap a price anyway. Dumb.
WAs thinking same thing..ughhh..poor lady was clueless....
@@susiejakes3019 Some people just want to get rid of the clutter.
@@nuttybar9 .. I agree... one man’s “junk” is another man’s treasure!!! I found that out when I had a garage sale years ago and something my hubby was pulling off radio speakers at work (magnets) and we used on our fridge for our kids “artwork” I had piled on the corner of a table on the way to the trash and a guy picked the pile up and asked how much I wanted.. I said... “a dollar”... he handed me the dollar and said.... what a steal!!! Certainly opened my eyes!!
I was yelling at the tv......bless her heart 😃
The deal was done already. You and lady already agreed on $5.
No deal is done until it is paid for.
I appreciate your sense of integrity. And I also think you did the right thing. The man missed the boat.
I would not have shared that. Especially knowing he was a reseller as well. You did just fine.
You did nothing wrong. FIRST COME FIRST SERVE!
Doesn’t matter who the other person is, dealer or someone interested…you had your hands on them first, you were the one who asked about cost, they are yours exclusively. He was pushing it by asking you to split.
You bought them first… a deal is a deal. Don’t feel bad for trying to make a living
He was wrong and the seller was terrible! You said you wanted them all…you made the deal with her and said you would take them all. The other guy was just mad that you got to these before he did! I can bet if the tables were turned….he would NOT have split them with you! Glad you didn’t let either of these people get to you and so happy you got them!
I think she said she is "not very good at this". Nice lady!
That was definitely an awkward situation. I'm surprised he didn't offer the lady more money for them. You were 100% in the right. Nice score Bro.
I thought he was going to offer her more too.
he should offer more if they were already set on a price. he could offer this gentleman something after he left the sale.
If he really wanted them he should have met you by the drive way after the transaction was complete and made you an offer..of double or Triple your paying price.
Right, he should have offered $20 for half or go home, lol.
You are right, that is the way it is done.
I feel bad you were put in that situation. She should have never said anything and you shouldn't have to feel obligated to be the "nice" guy and share? What? You were there first, that's your money you Hussle for. You handled it well
Thanks...
You did the right thing. Nobody makes money by bending to the competition. And you’re obviously a gentlemen at all times.
@@Joe-yi8xj You were killing me with how how kept looking like you were deciding on whether to buy them. As soon as i hear a good price I would say very clearly I will take them all! Picking where I'm at it is can be very competitive. If I'm pricing an item I have to hold it in my hand or a guy will grab it right under me.
A deal is a deal, period! You were definitely in the right and so polite.
The lady was mostly at fault. You did exactly the correct thing and stayed nice about it. She should have not taken them out of the wrapping. She was fully at the wrong. I like your videos.
No they are yours. I would have did same as you. Good very good buy
I would of told him yeah for $10 , shoot maybe even $20 for a set. Just to chingarlo like he did me.
Saludos from Edinburg Texas The Valley 956
I'm sure that grown man will be just fine without the pictures. I think the lady should have said they were already sold.
She was more in the wrong than the other reseller. He was hanging around for sure to see if you would leave it but she asked you to share. Wtf? That's not for her to say.
Actually they were still hers he hadn’t paid her yet and she was trying to be nice but she did put him in an awkward position.
I feel like she was out of pocket for even asking would you split them. I was getting anxious just watching her mess with them after she agreed to $5. I think you were more polite than I could’ve been for sure
You did the right thing, as a reseller sometimes you win and sometimes you lose, and everyone knows timing is everything, I hate missing stuff but that's the game.
1st come 1st served. He was being rude. He should have backed off. He was pushy. Take care!
He tried to edge in on your good luck! You were right . She was wrong trying to change the deal.
Reseller or not….you had your hands on the prints asked the price sparked your interest and said you were interested they are yours ….i have had this happen to me at sales before….hope you were able to sell the prints ❤
He just wanted to sell them at the show. He had nerve to make everyone feel awkward.
OMG! I would have taken them all. She was driving me crazy taken the other set out and then trying to stuff them back in the envelope. You did the right thing.Other guy was trying to take food out of your mouth. There are no friends at auctions and garage sales. LOL!
Think you should have said "wow, I'm so excited to have these and my whole family is going to really enjoy them!" And then pick them all up and proceed to pay for them and leave.. while thanking them again. ❤ you were there first. Glad you got them. Good find.
Isn't he buying them to resell?
You did right man, in my area I compete with 3 different 2nd hand stores, those 3 guys are ruthless , if you don't act fast they will grab the item right from your hands ! they also show up 1/2 hour before the sale opens,,,,, Like I said you did right
I keep watching these yard sale videos, and it never ceases to amaze me, how many people will insert themselves into deals, into people's personal space or literally grab shit out of people's hands. There are way too many people who need the shit smacked out of them.
.. 🤣 ..
greedy pigs all over the place
Hey you were very polite & in the right.Hope your enjoying them Happy 4th of July. ❤🤍💙🇺🇲🇺🇲🇺🇲
I've had adult's at yard sales grab stuff out of my son's hands a couple times once was Pokémon cards and the other was video games he came to me crying both times and as they were trying to pay I went and snatched them right back and I told them you touch my kid again i will put you in the hospital
Oh these types are so cheap. Absolute bottom of the barrel humans. I've caught a scheming couple that printed out their own price stickers they were putting on my complete junk to get deals on. It's the hoarders that will find a way to rationalize absolutely anything to get what they had their eyes on. Disgusting tactics
Dave, you had ALREADY done the deal with the lady and guy in the garage. You told them you would take them for the $5, and the guy who walked up should have kept out of your business. You did the right thing.
You handled it just right. He was trying to guilt you into sharing them, by putting that woman into the middle of it all! Shame on him and kudos to you.
You did the right thing. I'm not a reseller but I had one try to push me into not taking something. Just so happens I saw her stocking her booth and knew what she wanted it for.
You are a good person. The deal was done and they were going back on the sale. You did nothing wrong hold your head high you’re an honest man
You definitely did the right thing! He had no right to even ask. I would bet he would not have done that for you! You would have never asked. Thanks for the great information!!
As a reseller, I think he was rude, you were looking at them first. When I see things being looked and there's talk going on between the buyer and a seller, I let them be. Now if I was the seller, I'd just start a bidding war. Haha
This video is a couple of years old, but I just watched it.
You handled it wonderfully.
My Mom went to clearance sales, estate / garage sales, and thrift stores in the 90s. A hobby. She would have a garage sale every year just to see how much she could profit. Even throughout her treatments for breast cancer, she continued as best she could. She was in a store for after Christmas clearance sale.
Her health issues were obvious. She was holding an item in her hands. A woman approached her and took the item out of her hands and asked "Are you going to buy this" ? 😂WOW My Mom handled it very politely and purchased the item. She was such a patient considerate person. I am my Father's daughter...
My family often jokes that had I been involved in various senerials, I would end up in the back seat of a cruiser.
My apologies? Simple things like your video send me to a place. Miss my Mom. Blessed she had patience and calm to handle a child such as I. ¥
Wow that's not ok 😞😮
Beautiful story! Thank you. Sorry for your loss.
Dude should of moved on about his day once you made a deal. Screw his pity talk🤣
Right...
I was getting so mad listening to him babble.
Hey, that's good that there's an airshow this weekend......I'll be sure to bring my prints to it. 😆
You did the right thing. He knew what he was doing, and tried to guilt the lady. He could have asked you to split them not the seller. You made a deal and he tried to ruin it. He did not deserve even one if them.
I would have done the exactly what you did! The goofus was late to the party, therefore he didn’t get a party pack! You did the right thing! ❤️
PS: He earned you a new subscriber! 😊
I would have done the same as you did. You asked 1st and she said 5 dollars for all. There yours ! Your a good person & he was being bold. So you did the right thing. First come , 1st serve !
YOU DID RIGHT!!!! You did all the talking and dealing while the other guy just stood there waiting to pick from the leftovers and when there were NO leftovers, he decided he wanted in on the deal YOU negotiated! You did good!!💜
You were in the right. He said, he would buy them if you didn't. So he knew you were going to buy them.
He was just sticking around to see if you were intimidated. I'm glad you got them.
It was amazing the seller sold them so cheap.
Score!
Sh/t.... if the roles were reversed you would have got nothing. “Early bird “ saying is in play for this find. 👍☘️
Facts..
Exactly what I was gonna say!
Plus he didn’t want them because he ‘collects’ them… he wanted them for the “big military sale coming up …”
You stayed pleasant and polite. You were not in the wrong. I have had people flat out try and bid me up at garage sales and I am not a reseller, I am a teacher. It's a crap thing to do.
There should be some etiquette but watching this, you are certainly not the one in the wrong. That guy 100% should have stayed in his lane while you were making your deal. You shouldn't even have to justify why you want them, you made the offer first and had already committed to purchasing them. Glad to see you stand your ground.
Him saying “alright I can do that” when she said $5 means they’re his. That man awkwardly stood there when the deal was made!
You found them first developed a relationship with the sellers. Got the price and No Way should you have stepped down. He was Rude and intrusive!!
You said, I’ll take them all. That was a done deal. You did exactly what I would have done.
Nope. The minute he stepped in, I would have made sure that I got them all for $5 and he didn't get any, even if I didn't plan to do anything with him. It was bad etiquette for him to keep pushing after his first comment. You did right.
You were the 1st to show interest in them, and you were very clear from the start that you wanted all of them. You have a kind considerate heart, but you concluded the deal that you made with the sellers 👍✌
No first come first serve, he would’ve got angry if he was in your spot
You did just fine. Even if you both weren’t resellers he had no business with that item unless you walked away. And you were very courteous to the seller
I think you were in the right. It was a yard sale and you bought them. You were extremely polite! Great job!
Oh man, I felt for you in that situation. You were NOT in the wrong. When that dude spoke up my jaw dropped. Who does that?!?
I can’t believe the other guy did that to you!! Did right thing, you had already spoken for and confirmed price!!!!
You did the right thing 👍🏼 he had no reason for getting involved
I would of just doubled the price and that would of said it all to every one.
You still got a huge profit for resale.
That other reseller is a punk! He knew what he was doing. He forced the lady to become the mediator between you and him playing on her weakness. there's no doubt he runs a shady business.
Yeah, he's a "reseller". That's the entire business.
@@johnnycaralta Isn't that the truth! There's no bigger crook than EBay.....Besides the IRS of course.
You did the right thing! I hate when people follow other resellers around trying to take their stuff or guilting them into getting what’s in their cart.😡
They were YOURS, you were there first, you negotiated the price, he was a day late & a dollar short! 😂
You're good! I don't sell, but I have had people push me out of the way to look into a bin I was looking in. You played it correctly.
I wouldn’t sweat it. We have to set aside our emotions when working. He is in the same line of industry and you got to it first. He mentioned he collected for sympathy or to gain something from it.
Right.. You would come home with nothing if you let the emotions get involved.. lol
You were in the right. You were in the middle of negotiating, him cutting into your Convo was wrong. I'm sure he would have not given you half.
The way I feel about garage sale etiquette is for others to stay out my ride unless I open the door for you
You did the right thing. Polite and to the point. His hope was that you would cave in and share them.
Hey you made the deal. They are all yours especially because you know he is a reseller too. To quote Partime Picker “ You gotta be the first one there “ lol. Also I’m a Air Force veteran so that is an awesome find.😀
I'm from Australia and my partner and I pick, if a rude person like him comes along we have a tactic of shaming back to defuse the situation. I suspect being a couple its easier although I have been at garage sales or yard sales as you call it were this have been taken out of my hands. No disrespect given to those who respect others yet people like this guy deserve all that is given back. love ya content Bruh@!!
@cheezy1969
Yo elaborate a lil more on THAT tactic. In interested jaja.
Saludos from Edinburg Texas The Valley 956
Awesome find! I would've picked the stack up immediately before asking the price, then walked to the seller prepared to pay. Then when near the seller discuss the pricing 1-on-1.
It's first come first served!! Don't you dare feel bad about buying those items. It's your choice how many you wanted. Most likely, he would have done the same thing. And did anyone notice the subtle tactic of how a competitor will casually throw out there that that's what THEY collect? Implying that they are more entitled to a certain item than you. lmao!
Man, I’ll just get to the point. You snooze, you lose!!! You were a perfect gentleman the way you handled that situation! The reseller had the same opportunity you did to act on those military photos. I suspect he got a little jealous when he didn’t act on them earlier, and that’s his problem, not yours. You handled it like a champ!!! He was rude trying to manipulate this into a guilt trip!!!
That was a done deal…and he heard that it was done as he stood right there listening. You were totally in the right.
He never should have said he wanted half after you make the deal. He had time to get them before you got them. I don't think he thought they were worth anything until he saw you make your deal. Then he thinks well maybe there's money to be made but he was to late. You did right you said I'll take them all. Well they are yours.
It’s about the hustle to be there first! It’s the name of the game. And of course there is some luck thrown in there everywhere we go. He had bad manners horning in on your deal.
To me, It’s 1st come, 1st serve. You were under no obligation to share wit him or split it either. I wouldn’t worry about it and go on.🧐👍
We call it "sniping"- always somebody lurking. Not polite but you'll always find that type at auctions, flea markets & yard sales. They imagine themselves to be the exclusive "deal kings"I've had people snatch stuff up that I've asked price on but didn't have in my hand. Learned quickly to have item in hand when inquiring
"Sniping".. I like that..lol
I've had this Ng's pulled out of my hand - even while I'm paying and waiting for change!
I even had someone try to say they'd brought MY handbag and try and take it from me! The police had to be called in that situation.
And the look on the guy's face was priceless when the police asked him if his name was Samantha! 🤣
I think you handled it fine. you knew his intentions but you were there first at the end of the day.
First come first served. You did exactly right given you knew the other guy was a reseller. And you were polite about it. Wouldn’t lose a moments sleep over it.
I would not even worry if you like something just get it don’t worry about others. The only thing that annoyed me in that video was the seller taking those pictures out of the envelope to look for doubles and asking if you want to share then she couldn’t get them back in
What an awkward situation... damn right u don't need to share! It's super competitive out there & if you like it and grabbed it first, it's yours
U handled the situation in a classy way. That reseller guy was totally being manipulative which made the lady feed into his little scheme. Great score!
I think you did the right thing. I probably would've done the same thing too, and become a reseller if for no other reason then to prevent the other guy getting them. First of all the other guy butted in when you were busy making a deal. How he kept quiet and spoke to you after you finished, maybe you could've made a deal with him but not the way he bought it in! At least that's the way I think. Best wishes to you on your hunt for treasures!👋🏻
Don’t feel bad about that at all. Garage sales are first come, first offer, first dibs. The fact that the man asked the couple running the sale to essentially split what he clearly knew you were purchasing and had already spoken for was not polite. Keep doing what you do. I love watching🙂
A similar thing happened to me. The guy actually looked at a table full of action figures then walked away. I went up, looked then told the seller I'd take the whole lot. We agreed on a price then the guy comes scurrying back wanting a few pieces. I literally was putting the money in the sellers hands. The dude was a big time reseller so I told him I'd sell them to him but he didn't want to pay the eBay price I was asking for...lol bruh
Finders keepers. Others often find value in something, when YOU find value in something.
