I have an FP700, went through 2 engines because of failed cats. Once at 5,304 and again at 12,047 miles. I have a dragy pull where i blew through the 105mph limiter up to 125mph. I notice that the limiter kicks in right at 100mph
The FORD Perf Whipple with the base tune that comes with it leaves the 103mph limiter in play. That's how Ford will honor the warranty. You pay Whipple for the updated tune to Stage 2 and the limiter is bumped to 135mph, BUT you void your power train warranty. It clearly states the stock speed limiter is in play on the Ford Perf page for the kit, but people don't see it. Get the stage 2 tune and a set of aftermarket cats like the SPD's and then she will rip. My AFR's are perfect with the SPD's and Whipple Stage 2 tune and MBRP catback.
Zipp ties to keep wire looms from contacting the serp belt not even a couple inches away, each holding onto hoses that will move as well as a hard PCV line.
We installed many whipple superchargers back in late 20teens and their tunes were always lean so we started tuning them ourselves. Idk how they let stuff go out like that and who is tuning these and how do they not know better. It's crazy that there tunes are still lean today.
Had 20 Mustang with a roush kit and I had the same thing constantly happening. Was running super rich higher RPM and would melt cats every 5k miles. Car was always in the shop and they wouldn’t even change the cats anymore even though on start up and certain things it would run super rough or barely idle.
I thought I heard that Whipple wants a couple data logs from the customer to work some of that out of the tune? I've got a stage 1 on the way, but I'm upgrading cats and I also don't "race".
Either purchase stage 1 or 2 directly from Whipple. Imo, the FP kit is not as good and has factory 105 speed limiter. Whipple tunes are set at 135 mph. Also, it says in Whipple install directions to dyno in 5th gear due to wheel/driveshaft/tire speed concerns.
@@RadDadisRad The FP warranty is thru Whipple. The warranty paperwork is copy pasted from Whipple. FP doesn't build or repair the supercharger. Whipple only covers up to certain amount for powertrain.

Wonder if a higher flow catback would help the cats live longer less back pressure. The mufflers on these trucks are silly huge and restrictive. If not whats the solution for people who want to stay with the FP kit on there 24'? Gesi/green Catalytic converters?
@aedtuning8441 Something has to give then with there tune. Surely ford and whipple don't want to be blowing up customers cats/engines seem crazy and not good business.
@@aedtuning8441 Do you think Ford is trying to protect their transmission because they decide to cheap out on parts so it has less capacity? Kind of sounds like something Ford would do! Just another sad example of “them” pushing costs onto consumers. Sure you can get it supercharged, but you’re gonna pay for cats way before you normally would. Win/win for “them”.
Its so dumb. Heck I had a stage 2 22 and was very underwhelmed with the power. Had to tune it and run E85 to be happy with it and it woke the hell up. These trucks need to be tuned. th-cam.com/video/n9udHAP3698/w-d-xo.htmlsi=btcoJ1Y62LWfQVRA
YEP! E85 not only is the safest pump fuel to run with high compression and boost, it's also the CLEANEST. #1 byproduct of an E85 burn is water. Clean air + safe power

I don't know whether I should be happy you can apparently sneak this crap by CARB if you have the money, or worried they're going to see this and start making it harder to certify...
@@aedtuning8441 Exactly. But if you or I tried to certify a calibration like this we'd lose our $10k testing fee and get laughed out of the lab. Someone (whipple, ford?) basically pushed this cal through as "sufficiently similar" to something else that it was probably never actually lab tested.

Given what I saw in the data log, I'm not surprised at all.
Weird I have the whipple tune on my 24 and didn't notice a cut off. Speedo stopped at 120 and rpms kept going
Whats going on my brother brother! Drop some videos more often. The knowledge is priceless.
Thank you sir! I would consider a 5.0 with headers and bolt ons over the whipple after seeing this post.Great Job AED !

@@lee2fast4u21 their tunes are literally made with ford and they back them up. They are fine lol. They have been tested by ford.
You can over ride the limiter and put e 85 with premium and the truck will make over 600 probably 660 somewhere around there

This the same tune that all the 24s got i wonder. Brutal.
So is it a better alternative to go with the stage 2 direct from whipped?
No
The oil pump driven with a belt is my concern with those engines. It's the main reason I canceled my 24 RCSB order
Belt isn't an issue.. the gears was the problem
