You are my new hero! I was just GIVEN a Designer I with all of the hoops, including the mega hoop and with only 40 hours of embroidery time on it. Also, tons of Husqvarna disks with patterns already on them. I already have the Embrilliance program because I had purchased an older Brother embroidery machine at a yard sale and Embrilliance is what has enabled me to utilize that machine. I just ordered a $12 3.5" USB external floppy disk drive and I plan to be in embroidery Heaven soon! Thanks bunches!!!
Hi Karla! Boy are we glad we stumbled on to your 2 videos! We purchased a new in box Husqvarna Designer 1 from a friend and our hearts started sinking as we could not get files to transfer and save to a dongle or USB stick. We talked to sales people and they weren't really very knowledgable on the older machine. But with the help of your videos and Embrilliance we have a fully and fantastically working machine! Thank you again!!
You are so very welcome. I loved my Desgner 1 for almost 20 years. They are an almost bullet-proof machines. Hope you have many many years of embroidering fun.
Wow, Karla, what a great video. You're really good in front of the camera, and your explanations are clear and helpful. I love how you included the steps written out at the end. I'm also using an older machine, and I love it when we can help each other keep things working.
Thank you so much I actually have an older system just for my machine but last time my system crashed I cried like a big baby it sucks they don’t support this machine anymore . I found an old one with the windows 98 and I am so scared it will crash I don’t even hook it to the internet lol your an angel for taking the time to share this. I own 3 of those Viking designer 1 but I also have the 950 ES so they all are 15-20 years old and need the older windows but now I’m excited to know if I crash I got a back up .. I’m thinking I will buy this program and put it on my laptop so I can use it too ! Thank you !
So thrilled to find your tutorials on TH-cam. I still use my D-1 but just couldn't bring myself to spend more $$ on H-V software programs that could soon be outdated. Your tutorials are clear and precise and have been a wonderful help. I am subscribing to your videos right now! Thank You!
Thank you so much for this video. I’m discovering my Designer 1 again, and I am inspired by your video. I will definitely look into embrillance so I can make full use out of it. PS. I came across my sales receipt while trying to find floppy discs for my machine. Would you/anyone believe I paid $5,299 for the Designer 1 PLUS $1,200 for the software. Including sales tax I spent $6,888.94 in November 1999 😲. 🤔 I believe that’s more than what my car is worth today 😂
I am so excited to discover this video! I have been practicing machine embroidery with this model and having this video encouragement, has spurred me on to keep going!
THANK YOU so much for this video. I can now use my D1 and create Floppy disk!!! I am not sure if Thank you is enough because my face is glowing with joy. Have a bless day!!
Love this as I have two of those machine and they work great. I have never change from floppy because of the cost, I was tried of having to upgrade all the time , it just cost way to much.I have the software that came with it at the time but I'm going to look into this.Thank you so much for showing this.Love the puppy design so cute.Jolene
Hello! Karla no longer owns this particular machine so she can no longer answer questions in regards to the Designer 1. Any questions in regards to the Embrilliance software should be directed to Embrilliance directly. embrilliance.com/ Thanks!
Your video is great. You showed us how to compile a design source into a .hus file for Designer I to use, but what if you have a .hus file without a source? How do you convert that file into a floppy disk and make it readable by D1?
Hi there! I'm sorry but I don't know the answer to that. Are you using the Embrilliance software? I would contact them for help, their customer service is great!
I’m that one that has a older embroidery machines..Designer Topaz 25, & can’t find the software for embrilliance software to purchase can you help with a site to get this..your video is so helpful, wonderfully presented. Thks
Hi Karla, My husband just bought me a designer 1 for my birthday but didn't realise it should have any disks or software with it! Is there anyway I can get copies of the 100 sampler disks that usually come with the machine? Can I just buy this program and create designs to use on my machine or do I need something else. Sorry for using you as a sounding board but I know nothing at all about design programs or embroidery machines but really want to learn. Thanks for this video as it's given me hope that I will still be able to use the embroidery side of the machine which looks amazing.
Thank you for the video. I too just purchased a used D1 w/USB. I'm unable to get my dongle and old software to work on an old Dell XP laptop. So I'm hoping to purchase the Embrilliance Essentials software for Mac. My question is. . . Do I also have to purchase Convert It from this company so that it will write it to my usb? From your video, it sounded like you were doing everything with just Essentials. Again, thanks for video and your help.
Good question. I'm not a Mac user at all so I'm not entirely sure. I would contact the support folks at Embriliance, they were very helpful when I was trying to get myself set up.
One of these videos show a gentleman showing you how to use download and use the Husqvarna Primeir 2 free software with the floppy disks. I saw him just 10 minutes ago but can find him again. If you can't find him, go to the Husqvarna website to "support updates" and see if you can learn how by yourself. It's possible but I can't walk you through it. I use 3.25 inch disks with my D1 but you still need software.
Hello I have the Designer I (second hand) and have never used the embroidery part. I would like to learn and was hoping you had links or someplace to refer me to to learn. Thank you
Sorry for the delay. The best thing I can refer you to is the Embrilliance.com website for embroidery. For the sewing part, I found Heirloom Creations TH-cam channel to be the best. Hope that helps.
I've started back using by Designer 1 and I have Embrilliance. I would like to get the instructions, but I can't get to the PDF without your permission.
@retiredsewwhat6148: Right now I have downloaded the PDF file. Rachel Friend shared it in the same link. I only waited about an hour. Thanks to the lady for sharing it.
Windows 10 machines don't have a floppy disk, and Designer 1 doesn't have anything but floppy disk. You need to go back to Windows XP if you are lucky to find one as Microsoft stopped supporting XP.
Hi Karla, I have a question.....how can you change the needle position on the Designer 1? In embroidery mode and sewing mode it's off to the right about 3-4 mm.
What do you use to connect to your lab top to be able to use the floppy disks? My designer 1 doesn’t not have the usb option and my computer does not take floppy disks so I need and external machine for that I guess!
I have obtained a Designer SE and i am using Windows 7 I can not get files to transfer to the sewing machine or the dongle with 3D embroidery software. Should embrilliance fix my issues? Please help

@@stylesandsmarts You need some type of embroidery software. A cheap one of Sew What Pro. Then you can take any embroidery design and reformat it to a different machine.
