Gothic 3 mods? Damn, I must've been living under a rock or something...
if u havent played gothic atleast with the latest community patch you cant even say that you played it.
TBH only if you install all these mods, the game feels kinda like a gothic game should feel like. Vanilla is just an unfinished pile of crap.
The Gothic games actually have a really dedicated modding scene, it's just almost all the really good ones are German or Russian. the native English-speaking fanbase of Piranha Bytes has to make do with a much smaller pool of mods (Velaya, for Gothic 2, is one of the rare exceptions). That said, Gothic 3 has been a little luckier in that all of the truly great mods are fully operational in English (except Quest Packet).
Risen never saw much modding action, which I can understand as Risen 2 and 3 were grave disappointments and the first game was pretty fine as it was. I'm hoping with the step up that is Elex, we'll see some more dedicated PB modding.
Elex modding? Man, elex is a complete garbage, noone is even interested in making mods for it :D
I respectfully disagree. Elex has its problems, that I will not deny, but I think it was still a massive step up over Risen 2 and 3, and since the Piranha's are my favourite developers of all time, well hell, I get some optimism from that. I also disagree that no one would make mods for it. Gothic 3 was considered absolute trash by the Gothic veterans of the day, yet that did not dissuade the modders from working on it, to make it the best game it possibly can be. I think some dedicated mod work will do very well for Elex, which has massive potential to be PB's potentially third greatest title.
I believe in giving Elex, which still retains that masterful PB world building, the same chance. With combat and bugs/glitches patched, and maybe some new additions, Elex could be a fantastic open world action RPG. Or at the very least, a good successor to Gothic 3.
Just keep in mind, the old Gothic guard despised Gothic 3 on launch, just as they despise Elex today. With a bit of fan-related work, who knows what is possible? Did any of us see Gothic 3 today as we did back in 2006, when it first released?

Played this game 12 years ago with no patches or mods.
It was my 1st RPG game and it made me love RPG games even with the bugs.( i was a kid and had alot of patience)

@@CptSlow89 I only finished forsaken gods, but never G3. I was 5 when i first played G3, And I couldn't read, so i was just running around. Then, my sister got Forsaken Gods when I was 9, so I played it, I really enjoyed it, so my sister gave me G1 and G2 to play. Never came back to G3 tho, and now, when i tried to play it, my keyboard somehow didnt worked in the game, so I came here to install Community Patch.

Good ol Gothic. Gothic 1 - 3 was amazing. Best RPG games until witcher 3 came out. Gothic was so ahead of its time. I was playing it on the family computer. 350 MHZ and 32 ram graphic card.
All settings to minimum. Loading time for a save game was multiple minutes. The game was lagging like hell and the whole world was covered in fog due to minimum visual range. Due to lag, i died hundreds of tims to blood flies and lurkers etc.
Still one of the best gaming expierences of my life.

Gothic 3 was the first game i really played lots and lots from when i was 9 years until 12 or 13 years old. This game opened so many worlds for me. Now it's time to revisit and really ace this game. But maybe I'll give returning a try as well in a future playtrough.
You realize Returning has Lhiver included (just without silly overgrowth parts), right? And DX11 renderer is standalone, you can use it with any mod :) As for gameplay changes, Lhiver is really pretty meh and full or arguable choices.

the Gothic community is probably pretty small, compared to others... but holy shit! its one of the most active and nicest communities i've ever seen!
even round about 20 years after the first game came out, there are still people out there who be like "eeeehhh i can fix that" or "eeeeh i can make that a little better than it is right now".
i am planing to play the whole series again (well up to G3 cuz arcania is a fucking piece of shit!) and i almost finished G1 and while playing i realized that the Gothic series is actually the perfect foundation for a great RPG.... i mean, the atmosphere is probably the best i've ever expirienced in a game, mechanics and interactions are also vastly great if sometimes a bit "wonky" and the whole universe that Piranha Bytes createt is completely believable which adds to the awesome atmosphere... man i just LOVE the series and PB, i just fucking LOVE THEM!

It really speaks volumes of the fans' love for a saga when they take it upon themselves to make a great game out of a rushed and unpolished product. I'm definitely going to try these enhancements out!

What I did wrong? All works fine until i activate mod pack, after that consequences npcs and questpack is without any words, only "-". I tried all mods alone, always after launching a modpack I dont have text in dialoges from CQ and QP. I have Polish version.

@@PATAPL Mod pack does not work in Polish apparently.Many others have same problem. I am surprised this was not fixed because the Polish mod teams are as good or better when it comes to gothic 2 and 3.

The exe, steam etc anything will work after integration --> "And for launching game it is not needed to launch mds every time, because starter is just installer and after installation (integration) you can run the game from shortcut, directly from .exe file or e.t.c." must have been 19 when gothic 3 was released and i stopped playing because the story didnt proceed anymore, something wa bugged.

I played Gothic 3 a couple of years ago with these mods installed but I didn't install all those patches you listed so I might give it a try again! Thank you for the video very helpful
When I launch the game after installing everything, all mod added dialogues and item names are fucked up, do you know why that might be?
Examples of what is displayed
- Dialogues:
When I talk to a character, the dialogue options and the subtitles only display " - " or " P " and there is no audible speech
- Items:
Some Item names only display " - "
Could it be because I'm running a polish version of the game?
Edit: So I found out that I can install everything with the game working correctly up until the mini mods. As soon as I launch MDS and install those, subtitles get fucked up. Any idea on how to avoid that and still get the mods?

i replayed it last year, and will do so again for the CSP if it ever comes out. for all its faults, i played as much if not more gothic 3 as i played gothic 2. Its just a great game with CP 1.7.
i cant understand how someone can write this. G3 is a big spacer. nothing more. a lot of potential but the game was way too big for the content (spacer).

its 2007, im twelve. i just dabbled into northmar for the first time, waayy underleveled. i got lost and took 2 hours to find the wolf clan. these 2 hours had me scrambling through a snowstorm at night with a torch, beasts attacking me, some i killed, others i ran from. random orc patrols chasing me while i look at the map again and again, desperately trying to finf the bridge to the village between all these mountains and ravines, while not being able to see further than 5 meters or so.it was epic.
G3 is a big pile of such moments to me.
Just for context, Shadow of the Colossus is a big spacer... and it's one of the best games ever made in the history of forever.
Not that I'm trying to compare Gothic 3 with Shadow of the Colossus, of course - Gothic 2, maybe, but not 3. What I mean is, why is it hard to understand that someone else likes the game, flaws and all?
Im so happy to see that still people play and enjoy the game like me! Even more that they still try to improve the game! Im a big fan of the Gothic parts and I was so sad that nobody shows interest in this game anymore :( Please, Please, Please continue!

Bought Gothic 3 for the same price of a loaf of bread. time to get modding and make it look and feel like it was worth more.
while the mods really improved the look of the game, there are wicked fps drops randomly on my i9, 32gb ram and 2070ti. must be missing a system tweak somewhere. it really staggers and struggles and rarely crashed to desktop. ill keep checking the channel for tweaks for this

@@timons777 I ended downloading the EE_Patch, the QuestPaket and the Int_Update pack. I'm thinking in downloading the content mod and see how it goes. But with my 8 GB RAM, FX 6500 Vishera, and R7 360 those mods are fine in Medium graphics. Not the best graphics, but it's still Gothic, a masterpiece.

Honestly, this Mini Mods Pack totally screw up polish version of the quest pack and content mod. So I am forced to play with english subtitles... I know english, but it destroys the climate.

Got a probleme here :
I installed everything the way you say in this video. When I start the game, many orcs got only " - " as name. Also, some people who I spoke to don't have any voice, and my answers are juste " - " " - " " End".
How can I solve that please ? :D
EDIT : I installed the game in french. Must I switch my computer to english ?
Obviously mods don't support french language.

In steam version of G3 you can skip downloading Community patch, since you can download already patched version through steam beta branch for game.

Ты играл с этим модом и обнаружил баг? Или как ты узнал что там есть баги? Т.к когда я играл с этим модом и прошел игру, я багов не обнаружил. Спасибо кстати за 4гб патч, вообще не знал что такой существует, обязательно поставлю в свою сборку =)
Да не за что ) Да, и я ловил баги, и много репортов на форуме. Сам по себе мод отличный, но сам понимаешь, я не рекомендую в гайдах вещи, которые могут быть нестабильны.
З.Ы. 4ГБ патч работает для любой 32битной игры. Хоть для третьих героев. Очень помогает при моддинге старых игр.
Да, понимаю, люди недовольны будут наткнувшись на баги. Не знаю почему у меня не было багов, возможно у меня стояла более новая версия? Не знаю. Нужно будет также следить за Update Pack'ом, В этом году собираются выпустить версию 1.05 с новыми плюшками. Еще раз спасибо за наводку на патч, очень полезно =)

Yes, sadly G3 is just very limited in modding capabilities. But, this setup already improving its to biggest possible limits )
It really is a shame, because the Community Patch is truly a Herculean feat from the modding community, but sadly Gothic 3 is flawed at a fundamental level. I tried several times to get into this game but after over 40 hours of playtime I realized I just wasn't enjoying the game all that much. The world is beautiful but hollow.

Most of quest are pretty good as they are related to the conflict, and you can ignore the rest. Gothic 3 is more about exploration, and freedom (in a world that actually tracks your choices so it requires at least a little bit of planning) then story. It is the best open world crpg by far.

Just finished Gothic 2 again nearly 20 years after the release... played through Legends of Ahssun total conversion mod of gothic 2 which was aaaamazing! Just to find your collection of mods, i always played only with community patch, will immediately try this! god damn i love gothic and its community so much

I'm getting weird armor bugs, that appear black and floating around the bodies of the enemies. Any idea from what mod/patch can it be?
wow year later but at 2002 I finished both gothic 1 & 2 and couldn't run 3 cause it was resource hog back when it released, I will definitely give it a try
Recently i bought the whole Gothic series, 1-4 on steam because i'm feeling a bit nostalgic about games i used to play as a kiddo, and i lost the CD versions of gothic 1-3 at least, and seeing how unplayable compared to Gothic 1 and 2 Gothic 3 is, i almost gave up on trying but then i found this vid. Game looks great, plays great and in general, is great with these mods. There are some things that just can't be fixed, even with the "fixed" enemy AI it feels more like exploiting the AI quirks more than learning the patterns and all, but overall it's way better than it used to be, thanks man, god bless.

P.S. "Gothic" 4 has nothing to do with Gothic besides the title. Forget about it very existence - and same for Gothic 3 "Forgotten Gods" addon.
