- What is the oldest structure in Minecraft? How old are dungeons and trees? When did the End City or the Village come into the game? This video answers these questions, and much more! Let's compare the oldest structures in Minecraft!
I basically compare all generated Minecraft structures in this video, in addition to a sample of natural structures, e.g., trees, and player-manufactured structures, e.g., the nether portal. I excluded terrain features like caves, ravines, lakes, and similar, which some might also describe as structures.
Disclaimer: I did my best at researching, but the data may still be incorrect or faulty. The age values will also change over time.

This comparison video is a bit smaller as I'm currently super busy with my studies, but I still wanted to get at least one video out this month! After I already compared the ages of blocks, mobs, and items in Minecraft, I thought it was finally time to compare Minecraft structures! I hope you enjoy it!

I played on the XBOX too for a long time and I remember how the gravel texture changed 3 times, in like a week, but not the machine gun bow.

I've been playing Minecraft for 7 or 8 years now and this hits hard. Pretty much when I was little I always played in creative, only playing in survival a few times but grew to love both. The funny thing is, my favorite biome has always been a snow biome, and I've always wanted to live in a cottage there. Some things never change

The funniest thing of them all is, after all these 10 years of MC development, dungeons didn't change at all (excluding the changes to the loot tables of their chests). It's about time Mojang, seriously.

I don't really think dungeons need an update they're just a little treat I don't think they need to be so elaborate. And about the cave update I'm not really sure what they could add The nether is pretty much exactly what you would want for a cave update.
@@carabibi2913 maby new ores, different cave generation more mobs, and maby boss mobs, deeper, and that's just my idea.

- the world should generate at least twice as deep as it does now (64 blocks down is not much to be honest, so 128 blocks down)
- the deeper you go, the tougher the rock gets (takes a bit more time to mine) because of the pressure of all the earth above (it pushes you to use enchanted pickaxes with efficiency, or haste beacons)
- methane gas pockets on low levels: when open to fresh air, it quickly pours out and explodes, if it contacts a torch, fire or lava (makes diamond mining more risky)
- flooded caves (not only under ocean)
- collapsing caves (their roof is made out of gravel, be careful)
- stalagmites, stalactites
- some new gem, like Ruby or Amethyst?
- Titanium ore - a tougher Iron ore variant, appearing at low levels quite commonly. Durability better than iron.
- Osmium ore - the toughest of all Iron ore variants and extremely rare (like ancient debris in Nether). Durability on par with that of diamond, doesn't burn in lava. Appears only close to bedrock, surrounded by pockets of lava. Has a silver metallic color with a slight tinge of dark blue. It is a very heavy metal, so player gets slowed down, while wearing osmium armor. Osmium swords have a very slow attack speed but deal brutal critical damage (with sharpness, you can one-hit most mobs, if you deal a crit).

On top of that, I find it weird how so many structures that I though were added years apart were released one after another. I thought villages existed long before jungles but nope only a few months. Crazy how my first weeks in Minecraft felt like years.

Brick Pyramids where actually something they added to know how strong world generation can be, but they removed it after getting the results.
Apparently Obsidian Walls where also a victim of this tests, there is not much to them but with the research, Obsidian Walls where a test for something, but how it wasn't very seen there is not much about it yet.

I remember when it was new. I was blown away by it since i was actively watching Minecraft TH-camrs since 1.7. I haven't played been able to play Minecraft (like in my country barely any one has normal Minecraft even some of the MC channels have a cracked version) now six years later it really seems not that long ago when the only way I could experience Minecraft was trough 2D remakes that were made in Adobe Flash. So yeah...
I was added in 2014. Or at least, I played Minecraft for the first time in 2014 just a few months before the ocean temple was added. But technically I was first in Minecraft in 2014. So we’re the ocean temples. And when something is in the game for the first time, you can say that it was added at that time. So I can say I was added in 2014.

sadly yes, now we have these big buildings with completely different villager clothing, I wish it just stayed the same, no raids, that annoys me a lot because my village that I built, gets raided after every time I go out to find resources, when my friends play they ring the bell non stop, half the time I don’t even get good trades, 36 emeralds for 4 pieces of leather? F**k no, wandering trader is useless too, who tf wants to buy sea pickles with emeralds when you could literally just go to a coral reef which are one of the most common things to find in the water, I could just get them from there, I’m not paying emeralds for something I won’t even use, and we still don’t have that emerald armour or tools, tipped arrows with buffs are pointless too, just keep the negative buff tipped arrows instead, I could rant all day about the bad parts of minecraft but Mojang won’t acknowledge it anyway so I’m going to end it here

Sometimes you don't realize memories were being made, you just know you're having fun, minecraft allows us all to express ourselves, we made friends with it, we lost friends on it, through the good and bad, minecraft has been with us through it all, and for more generations to come.

The fact that there's less than 1 year between the birch and spruce tree and the village is kinda unbelievable. Time was flowing so much slower when you were a child. :(
Yep. Cause when you're small , and grow a year , it consists of a big chunk of your life but when you're older and you grow a year , it's a smaller chunk.
Growing 1 year for a 30 year old will feel like it flew by while 1 year for a 9 year old is a big chunk of their life

I feel old now that I see that it's been 4 years since the Woodland Mansion, when the update released everyone was going crazy about it
This made me realize how much I want someone to re-do the jungle temple, it's such a forgotten structure because it isn't that useful, they should make it more engaging and the items you get in it should be more worth it, maybe some exclusive blocks or enchantments would help

i have been playing minecraft since 1.5, and never, and i mean never have i found a jungle temple without using /locate. I mean how tf havent i found it yet
i used to find it hard to find jungles lol and i didn't know how to tame an ocelot for many years

yea man i feel you i was 10 when it came out and 7 when i started playing on my old windows xp pc around update 1.7 i think.
I started in 1.4 and jeez it feels like yesturday when I was messing around...I remember actually starting to play in 1.7 and made my first base in a open area under a mountain.
