In Visual Merchandising class for Fashion Design, they taught to hang clothes, light to dark, solids to prints, to neutrals, short to long, small to large, if you want your closet to look like a boutique. I hang mine in rainbow order.
I LOVE seeing videos like this. Your style is very similar to mine, so it’s great to see colors and prints in a closet! I have way too much clothes than I would like to admit but I also feel like each piece is so necessary 😂 thanks for talking about each piece! I love seeing what’s in other people’s closet!!
Ah! I’m so glad to hear someone has a similar amount of clothes to me 😂 And yes! Each piece has its own little purpose! Thank you so much for watching! 🧡
I love your style! Could you make a video showing some of your winter outfits? I feel like the boho look is difficult to transition into the colder months. I also live in WI (Green Bay) and feel like my winter wardrobe could use a little refresh. Thanks for all of your videos!!! ❤ Kellie
Hi!!! That’s such a good idea! I can’t say my winter outfits are amazing (it’s rough in the Wisco winters 😂) but I would love to try and see what I come up with! Thanks for watching 🧡🫶🏽
I cleaned out, organized my double walk-in closet in January, & PAINTED it in PURPLE & LAVENDER 12" vertical, STRIPES, like a French boutique. It took me 6 months. Hubby wouldn't let me have another rolling rack, so I pulled out 2 feet of hanging clothing at a time, painted a stripe, let it dry over night, then moved another section.
Wait this video is SO good. I expected like 500k subs. I was shocked to see under 1k. I’m def subscribing. I can tell you put a lot of work into this ❤
The "It" colors for this Fall are MAROON, & CONCRETE GRAY. Burgundy or red can substitute. Fall florals, shades of brown, or olive, vests, full skirts, pleated plaid skirts, silk scarves, brooches are all the rage. Piled on jewelry, big chunky chain necklaces & earrings, fringe, bows, vintage brown mink, or faux fur, denim on denim, trench coats, leather, long blazers are in right now, so don't toss them. Ripped jeans & skinny jeans are out.
If you dye a garment, with Rit dye, in your washing machine, add a cup of vinegar, & cup of salt, to set the dye. Then WASH A LOAD OF CLEANING RAGS AFTERWARD, with the comet & windex still sticking to it, to CLEAN ANY DYE RESIDUE, but only a tablespoon of detergent, or U will over flow suds.
This was sooo satifying to watch I love a good purge LOL a few tips I learned in my last 20 years or thrifting that have helped me enormously with orgnization/minimizing, etc - I go through and purge my closet once every season (I am in California so it's like 2-3 a year) and I take stock what I have/what I might need, as well as getting rid of anything I do not need (donate.) Then when I visit thrift stores, or other stores, I only look for that one thing I need and I need it to be something worthwhile, like will I want this next season as well? Is this good qulaity, last test of time? If not, I don't get it. It's been pretty helpful for me!
I love these tips thank you!! I feel like thrifting only works well if you go in with a mentality like that! Otherwise who knows what you’d come out with 😂
A shopping tip is ask yourself, "What 3 things do I have, in my closet, that would go with this item?" This includes purses, jewelry, scarves, belts, shoes, hats. If it doesn't go with at least 3 things U already have, U won't wear it much.
Yes! I’ve done some natural dyes (with coffee)to dye my fabrics, but I should really try some store bought dyes for some of my clothes! That could be really fun!!
Oh my goodness I think you are the third person to say this and I’ve never noticed it before 😂Thank you! And aw yay a fellow Wisconsinite!! 🩷 I’ve heard Tennessee’s amazing too though!
The Old Navy Sweatshirt can be layered over an eggplant or berry colored blouse. Eggplant is in your Autumn color palate. Some of your very thin turtleneck sweaters, can be layered UNDER some of those vintage, floral, prairie dresses, & boots, for Fall/Winter, as long as U wear a long half slip, under it, for warmth, & denim jacket over it. & get a lint roller for dark clothing. U will get a lot of wear on those sweats when your Winter heating bill sky rockets. Fair Isle Knit sweaters from Shetland, Scotland, are expensive, so hang onto that cardigan. U will be glad U hung onto those duplicate hoodies, if U spill BBQ on one of them. U have a back-up.
Ooo that’s not a bad idea cause I love that dress!! Or I wonder if I could even just make it into a top? I’ve never worked with something shirred so I’m worried it would all just fall apart if I cut it!
@@thelaundrychatfor a dress to top upcycle - I think if you cut between two rows of the elastic you should be ok. Just remember to leave enough for a hem to turn up to the length you want it to finish at.
Wait really?! They kind of are controversial cause most of their stuff is one size, but they are the best quality basics and such a good price too! Their sweatpants, hoodies, and zips up are my fav. Although I wish they had more colors!
Really!!! Youre a sower and that old T-shirt (that you kept) with a little hole where the collar stitches to rhe body of the Tee..... and you havent put a couple of stitches in it???!!!😂😂😂😂
Very enjoyable…I love when ppl go thru their pieces & talk about them 🖤 obsessed w your hair btw & we’re fellow Wisconsinites 🖤🖤🖤

Finally someone who have a lot of clothes yet uses them! The knowledge of your clothes demonstrates that you lived them
Oh my goodness this is the best compliment, thank you! 😭 I definitely have a deep history with my clothes! (Which makes them very hard to get rid of!)

So fun to watch! Have you thought about up cycling the clothes you love the fit of but not the color by dying them?
Yes! I’ve done some natural dyes (with coffee)to dye my fabrics, but I should really try some store bought dyes for some of my clothes! That could be really fun!!
You look so much like Jennifer Aniston!!! 😊 Such a great video! I was born and raised in Wisconsin but now live in Tennessee!

That’s true… I may have to pull it out of the get rid of pile 🙊
I also love clothes yay
For the second top (shirred cropped one) could you add a rectangle of fabric and turn it into a dress??
Ooo that’s not a bad idea cause I love that dress!! Or I wonder if I could even just make it into a top? I’ve never worked with something shirred so I’m worried it would all just fall apart if I cut it!

This is such a good point 😅 I’ve never sewn a hole in a shirt before so I guess it didn’t even cross my mind! But now I may try that! 😂
