I listen to this and I have mixed feelings. Realizing autism is gauged on a spectrum, I do not seek to imply all cases are the same. However, I will share my autistic journey.
My mom detected issues in me when I was very young. However, the professionals told her I will “grow out of it.” I lived life. I struggled in school, horribly. I became a Believer by the Lord’s goodness. I played music by singing to the Lord directly, but could never learn to read music. I played sports. I traveled the world. I drove tour buses as an independent contractor. I became a school paraprofessional. The Lord led me back to college, at 47 years old. I was officially diagnosed with ADHD, OCD, and being autistic at 49 years old. I now attend an Ivy League institution after being invited to continue my education at the prestigious institution. So, I hear this interview and cringe, slightly, because the autism diagnosis seems to limit the parent more than it should limit the autistic person.
Maybe my autism hears control in the spoken comments: e.g. my dreams had to be mourned; my desires had to be altered; etc. Whereas my un-diagnosed autism never limited my life. Instead, I have had to deal with life and learn. I literally had to learn many things: how to speak to others; how to speak by looking at people; and I have to continuously try to curb my literalism. I have issues, indeed. And I still struggle to learn. But living life with an autistic mind can happen, and it can lead to more “positive” results. I guess the aspect of celebrity could add to the bewilderment, I heard in this interview, because success is often based on awards, applause, and invitations to share opinions as an elevated member in society. But please do not think I share this with anger. I guess my autistic mind would challenge folks to view autism from a different perspective.

I so enjoyed this, you have no idea. Seeing artists I used to go to concerts to see in high school and college, now be in the same stage of life as myself is really cool. Also I hadn’t ever seen them interacting as a couple even though I’ve known about their marriage. I have a daughter on the autism spectrum and this was very encouraging to me. I loved how you brought out what’s really important: Jesus. The chicken convo was priceless and I find myself having to explain to people that eggs are actually chicken periods and not chicken babies. So you are not alone lol. God bless you guys!

I'm sure she loves unpopular KTLA too, which KCOP (yes I know she's based in Los Angeles now) stomped repeatedly in the ratings. I'm sure in New York/Brooklyn, she'd love WPIX, which is like, along with WCBS, is the least popular, in the City.

I.EP. means individualisd educational program. Every child in the nation has a free and legal right to be serviced in their school to receive such educational treatment. Classroom sizes are smaller. A full case study is done first to determine what the child needs. Usually an occupational therapist, physical therapist, psychologists even the principal of the student are invited into the meeting. Then they work up a plan to help the child.

What a mess of a conversation when it got to discussing chickens. It's seems to be an American thing for people to shout each other down and talk simultaneously. It's so disrespectful, impossible to follow and downright irritating. Otherwise it was an interesting discussion. And, I loved the song they sang. The words were beautiful.
Zin that’s actually more of a Hispanic culture thing to talk simultaneously. It isn’t disrespectful in our culture; it’s part of participating in a collectivist culture and conversation.

Great conversation & Jaci is so right, you do have to fight for your child & be their advocate! I am so thankful I have a wonderful support from wonderful, patient, loving & understanding friends for myself & my son, who just accept him for who he is & love him.
We are all given gifts and anchor to overcome. As parents, we are challenged with the game of redefining the way we teach each of our individual children. With autism, it take the extra step of redefining the "game" as well as the way we translate the rules to the players.
It is all doable and winnable with time and a "belief".
