It is moments like what Himeko did for Kiana that defines what kind of person she was all along. Himeko was always a mentor to the students in St. Freya's but she was also human, she's had volatile temperaments, drunken habits that might cause one to think she's reckless, becoming VERY successful at a young age by graduating with a PhD in hopes to pursue goals to be like her father. Unlike most of the Valkyries we're familiar with, she wasn't combat trained from a very young age like other Valkyries in St. Freya's Academy BUT she did get promoted to Captain quicker than most due to her fierce determination. Himeko is forever a mentor to Kiana and her own big sister who had helped keep her on the track to become a better Valkyrie. Holding onto the theme of Himeko as one who has struggled to obtain greatness, I really don't think it would do Himeko justice to bring her back from the dead for "x" plot reasons beyond flashback or visions by Kiana. Himeko was a source of inspiration to Kiana and knowing full well what Kiana was becoming, her sacrifice is necessary to prevent another catastrophe and to show the strength of human perseverance. Himeko loved her precious students like Kiana, if I may say, similar to how Jiraiya loved Naruto like a son-- they both believed in the potential of their students to become greater than their fates. It is sad to accept that one cannot return (besides fan service) to life to see what has become of their students but while they're not physically alive, they'll always be the strength in their students mind and hearts to move on forward.

Came back here cuz of Honkai Star rail. Seeing Himeko again gives me a bittersweet piece of nostalgia, something that makes you sad but also makes you happy cuz you know you've seen her before. I just hope that Honkai Star Rail doesn't kill her off anytime soon

she died and reincarnated as diluc Edit: just in case someone want to comment but half blind, or denying the fact that this comment is almost a year old, where the only 5*s are only the standards plus venti and klee so it's the age where people see that only diluc design is similar to himeko.
I didn't pay attention to Himeko's character as much in earlier chapters. When chapter 9 came around, it was a whole 180. Himeko is one of (if not the most) heroic characters in the story, and definitely one of the best. Such a crucial character to Kiana's development too.
I didn't cry when Himeko fell off. Bit I do feel sad and depressed. Mihoyo did a great job making me sad by their Tragic story. This game is one of the best game I've ever played in my life so far.

I didn't pay attention to Himeko's character as much in earlier chapters. When chapter 9 came around, it was a whole 180. Himeko is one of (if not the most) heroic characters in the story, and definitely one of the best. Such a crucial character to Kiana's development too.

I didn't cry when Himeko fell off. Bit I do feel sad and depressed. Mihoyo did a great job making me sad by their Tragic story. This game is one of the best game I've ever played in my life so far.

@@r0ki103 That doesn't mean anything. Kiana thinks she is dead and that crushed her because Kiana knows that Himeko could kill her, even Sirin did. But Himeko didnt, prefering to give Kiana the life she deserves. Himeko appears in her illusions because Kiana needs hope, and Himeko is the embodiment of hope and sacrifice for her. That doesn't mean Himeko is dead.

In october of 2023 my Grandmother Passed away, and i was the one who had to do the various phone calls, Police, family, etc
so when the lyrics of "cold rain starts pouring hard, im being called upon" starts playing, i immediately began to think of that day and the events of what happened
"never let you go, it's why i did them all to live in your way" - my grandmother and i were incredibly close, my mom even stating she was like a second mother to me, and she was responsible for my mother changing her life around to actually bear me as her child
"Love of you is my most cherished thing" - My Grandmother is responsible for naming me and took care of me in my very first few years of my life while my mother tried to get her foot in the door of society
