Yep this is what happens when you are in tune with your equipment. You know when something is off and not right. Even well maintained equipment will have something off from time to time. Glad you were in the right area to have the tire changed rather than on a busy freeway and it was much safer too at the yard.. Good work and a job well done for the day.
3:53PM,EST, from Somewhere in Pennsylvania. I lost a steering tire once. Abit scary at first until you get it slowed down and stopped. I was in the middle of the cattle shute in a construction zone which made it scary. Anyways, glad you're okay. There's no coincidences in life. God, your dearly beloved Aunt Mae, Karma, whatever. Someone helped you out. Plug it and use it for a spare for the trailer. Because you know you NEVER use recaps and plugged, patched tires on your steering axle! Don't use it as a drive even. Happy trails and safe travels. Oh yeah, it's Sunday September 24. When I'm watching this.
Gooid thing you caught that steer tire in time. That's what they said happened to a coach bus in upstate NY. They said it blew a steer and went 40-50 feet in to a raveen in the median. 2 people lost their lives. Stay safe and get your new CB already. LOL.
Great example of listening to God and guardian angel to protect you. Great tire guy coming to rescue. I recall that other steer tire blowout on narrow road. Wish you had lunch box to pull out sandwich while waiting. Stay safe and keep listening to spirit. Home safe and sound for family!
You should have a sat phone. The monthly fee is cheap insurance and the use fee is well justified. Having the responsibility you have and the level of technology to deal with, I would never want to be out of contact.

Those darn tires... well it can at least be repaired & used on the pup. Hopefully U get Ur new radio installed soon. Thank U for the video Nik & plz keep posting them as you can.
Good point, never had a front tyre blow, but also 2 axles at the front, which should make it more stable in an emergency. We call 4 axle trucks here 🇬🇧 8 wheelers for some reason, even though they've got 12! Great channel by the way, there is absolutely nothing like your truck on the road here 🇬🇧, or Europe I think
You are blessed to have picked up on that air leaking sound when you did it could have been worse, thank god it wasn't take care dauminique andsee you on the next video!
Also, in my experience, that type of steer failure seems to be from either turn while stopped or turning sharp or fast under load. That section of the tire generally doesn't have much exposure under pressure in other situations. It is unavoidable at times but something to keep in mind.
Just discovered your channel and think you are totally awesome. I pulled a pup for 5yrs (just tandem axles), so I know the joys and pains you go through daily. The most we can haul in Texas is 84,000 pounds. Your 110,000 lbs is definitely on a whole different level. 😁 Can't wait to check out your other videos.

Ya in the late 70’s … I used to go on Saturday with her !!! I drive and do the same truck as you now !!! We have amazing ladies on this island that kick my ass now !!! Nice to see !!! Good catch & glad you caught it when and where you did. While the happenstance was random, it does go to illustrate the point that even just a "Walk Around" before every load could be a life saver. Don't forget, you signed up to be a dirt hauler, not a daisy pusher. Now, "Keep on Truckin'". P.S.: Was that the same brand and type of tire as the other steer mishap? You may want to keep track of more than just tread road wear because, as we both know, Off Roadin'" is a lot harder on everything in a big truck. That didn't look like a street tread so, while it could've been just the way the rock chip was angled when you picked it up, it also could just be the particular kind of synthetic rubber that brand uses in that particular model of tire, or maybe just a bad batch. Keep an eye out and, if it happens again with the same brand, contact both the dealer and the manufacturer.
@@DauminiqueTheDumpTruckDriver, Yes, Ma'am. While you're too young to remember them, those rules were probably set by what Monty Python (a British comedy group) called, "The Department of Redundancy Department". You should try and spread both boxes at the same time, i do it all the time here in Canada, i work in the oil field, it`s very easy to do and way faster, no waiting for trailer box to come down and then back up and lift truck box. spreading both boxes is the same as one, lift both boxes like you did with the trailer, start going open trailer gate wait for a few seconds and open truck gate keep driving until gravel is gone. the more you do it the easier it is, it`s all about timing the trailer gravel as to when to open truck gate. once you get on to it you will never do one box at a time. you are doing a great Job.
I just got both Michelin 385/65/22.5 steer tires on the truck I drive replaced last week, both were original when I got the truck new three years ago, I got a pair of new Hercules replacements which are rated for M & S, I’ve never heard of the Hercules brand but the guys at the tire shop in Ellensburg said the type of Hercules steer tires I got is popular with the dump trucks here, I’m hoping it performs the same or as well as the Michelins I had during the winter.
Glad you caught that hole discovered bad enough to lose a back tire steering tire blow out are hell and I remember the last time it happen glad this one wasn’t as dangerous as the last Salty safe always dear ❤

I was hauling crushed rock, and the right steer blew, going 55 , just got it stopped before a bridge. It was pretty sketchy, I was really sweating. After that I didn.t want to drive over 50 MPH for a couple weeks.
There are some commercial tires that have a layer of sealant built in to them that can automatically fill a hole up to a certain size. There are air systems that can maintain pressure even with a hole in the tire. Also, you could try to find run-flat inserts that are bolted around the wheel inside the tire in case of a flat or blow out. They are typically used on armored vehicles, but might be available for 22.5 or 24.5 sizes as well.
we used to have a limestone crushed stone quarry near me, that the rock a small vein of chert in it. ( the rock that Indians made arrowheads out of) well a couple times in my life I had the crushed stone cut the tire.

You can take your new CB and hook it to a cigarette lighter with a $4 Walmart plug and 2 butt connectors. If you are running the standard 4 Watts, you should end up well below the max amperage draw and have a quick, temporary solution.
That is you're Cancer intuition when you sense something isn't right you get that gut feeling, we've got strong intuition some times its good to have sometimes its bad we are no so keen on taking chances. Amazing what a good driver can find just by paying attention. An extra sound, smell, or vibration can hint you to bigger issues.

I can answer that; early 8x4s over here ran singles all round, and dual tyres on drive axles weren't even a thing for sure until post WW2.

That tire can be sectioned and saved for a trailer spare. I have had to do that with my 425’s on my steer and lift on my C500
I bet you get a good many calls to do MWBE...you never mention ? Good to be able to pick and choose. Enjoy your videos.
I’m not certified. So no I don’t get any calls. Because I didn’t borrow the money from a bank to start I had to hire an attorney.
Dauminique, you seem to be using the JakeBrake a lot. Does using it save a lot on regular brakes? Sometimes the Jake is very noisy.
How are you and your family doing and I really love your videos❤
Do you not have to tarp loads in Washington?? DOT would be all over you for untarped loads here.
Your pretty good here great content
Nice spreading jobs Dominique, and do you need a retorque after x number of miles ?
Stay safe, what is that group playing the music
I was in Washington DC two months ago
Washington D.C is on the East Coast,,She's on the West Coast in WASHINGTON STATE!!!!!!
Oh thanks
At least you can get the tire patched. And have a spare for the trailer. If they’re the same size.
Great job/ how is the little truck coming along 😊
Hi, just curious why you are running loaded with the reach shortened up?
Howdy, Just curious about your loads. I noticed that you only took one scoop in the truck and about one and one third scoop in the pup. So that would be about 10 yards in the truck and 12 or so in the pup??
It's loaded by weight not yards.
You spelt ( again ) wrong in your video Headline. Lol
What editing programs do you use?
now must for a steer tyre.
When did you find it on your PR check of the truck before you left your house
上手い🎉素晴らしい👏‼️✨👍
