Wow !!! Mexicans are such a beautiful group of people ! It saddens me that some are forced to come to USA for work and treated so terribly. I'm sure many wish they could stay home. I cannot wait to go to Mexico !! I teared up watching this. They are so crafty they are such hard workers they're so artistic and seem to be able to make anything wowwwwwwwwwww

I've been making videos for over 6 months now to show off the beauty of Mexico. But this video is something special. This is my first time getting invited on a trip by Mexico Tourism! Back when I was in Guanajuato they reached out and asked if I wanted to attend the Guelaguetza festival in Oaxaca. My first reaction was... Guela.... Guela-what?
But I learned more about the festival, and what it means to be the people of Oaxaca. And I knew this was something I could not miss! So I caught the next flight down to Oaxaca for a 4-day adventure. That adventure would become this video.
So I hope you all enjoy. And I want to thank everyone of you who have been watching The New Travel. You all made this possible!!! 🇲🇽👏

The New Travel thanks for this beautiful video... I think that I'm not afraid to say this one is the best video I've seen in your channel (and you have very good ones), it totally made me feel like I was there, and also made me feel so excited to see how beautiful is my country, we are so proud of it but I think we all enjoy when someone from abroad takes the time to appreciate our culture as much as we do, congrats for such amazing video!

The New Travel I'm crying !! OMG, you made feel Guelaguetza in my heart, I have seen whole your videos about your trip in Mexico, but this one is pretty special, you shared your feelings to all us. I am mexican, and I have traveled even in more places out of my country, but you and Greg and Hilary showed me such wonderful is Mexico, so my purpose now is to travel in and fall in love of México like you. Thank you for your giving, offering or Guelaguetza.
Btw... With all respect that deserve super ball, Guelaguetza festival has no comparison.

Response: The meaning of the word Guelaguetza is 'Ofrenda', Offering. Every year the Seven (geographical) Regions of the State of Oaxaca (ethnologically diverse societies, with 100s of individual languages, costumes, customs, cuisines, traditions and cultures in general) present the best of their products to their Local Deities (represented, or comprised, in the form of the Holy Catholic Advocation of the 'Virgen del Carmen', the Virgin of Mount Carmel) to thank for the good harvest (hence the sharing of their goods with the people at the end of their many individual dances in the Cerro del Fortin Stadium and 'impromptu' marches around Oaxaca City. The Guelaguetza is the thousands of years old festivity that goes back in time, way before the arrival of the Europeans to Mexico (as in the Hellenic World, the Greeks during the Olympiads, the Ancient Oaxacan Civilizations stopped their Rivalry Local Wars during the Guelaguetza's Festivities, and travel to the ancient Oaxaca City to celebrate the Festival. One of the many great original American Traditions that survived the destruction and obliteration of their cultures by the European Invaders in the 16th Century. I'm glad you had the chance to visit this amazing American Festival. Great video, one of the most thoughtful and inspirational I've seen about this festivity. Thank you for sharing it. Cheers (Like yourself, Canadian too, that lived in Mexico for some years)

Is anyone able to help the community by adding subtitles to this video? Guelaguetza is a very Mexican festival, so it would be great to make this video more accessible to Spanish speakers.
If you are able to help, just go under the video and click Settings --> Subtitles / CC --> Add Subtitles / CC

So good Dan New Travel. Gracias. MX is so diverse in so many ways. Many Norte Americanos think beaches and resorts along the coast. Dont know of incredible mountain ranges, jungles, deserts waterfalls and so many different food choices. CDMX sits at higher elevation than Denver by 1800ft I think.. MX pipeline rivals N Shore Oahu. Most miss the spirit and beauty of the people that makes MX so extra special.
Glad you are drinking with the KK amigos.😁

I’m from Oaxaca and I really appreciate that you make this video from Oaxaca, the video show shows the culture, the hospitality, because sometimes when the people talking about Mexico they think in drugs something like that.
And yes you right, it’s beautiful discover the origin, the history about each region inside of Oaxaca. I like what you said regarding Oaxaca is like a country inside a country, because it’s tru.
I watched this video over and over, because right now I not live in Oaxaca, I live in another state, I can visit Oaxaca just twice in a year, and the flavors, the smell, specially the tlayudas came to my mind and my heart.
You can visit Oaxaca wherever you want in my house with my family.

Everytime I watch one of your videos I feel goosebumps...either for the beautiful things about my country that you share with us all or the way you expose them. I think you have a Mexican heart, lol...and Nari too. Both so warm and smiley. May you be safe in all your trips. Keep rolling guys.

Absolutely .. Mexico is such an amazing country. I've watched so many travel vids, like yours, and from other travelers .. and am learning so much .. and though I've been to Mexico multiple times .. I realize more and more how little I know about this amazing country with many diverse cultures, foods, traditions, nature, etc etc

I've been looking for, and watching Oaxaca related videos during the past month or so, in preparation of a possible trip to Oaxaca to celebrate my birthday this year (I'm from Costa Rica). I can tell you a couple of things, yours is one of the most beautiful videos in YT about Oaxaca. It really conveys the uniqueness and cultural diversity of this city and its people. I've never been there and I feel that I love it already. If I had a minimum uncertainty regarding my trip there (which I hadn't), it totally dissipated after watching your video. Congrats man. Pretty sure this video will reach thousands and thousands of views really quick.

This has to be best and most colorful video you master so far. There are many places I want to visit in México, and Oaxaca is at the top of the list by a large margin. The foods, the culture, the textiles, the colorful city, the vibrant markets, can’t get enough. Thanks again out Canadian amigo
